[Q] I'm seeing CM10 Nightlies in ROM Manager - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

am i only the one seeing this in Rom Manager?
i'm running N7105ZHALJ4 MultiWindow Control ROM / Bullet Kernel v1.8.23b by cmenard.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982322
my model number still comes up as a SGH-T889.
i'm not sure if i should even try the nightlies.
Sent from another dimension using a SGH-T889 thru the XDA Premium App.

I think that's because it doesn't differentiate between note 2 's ???? Edit:I downloaded and checked the file name cm-10-20121203-n7100.zip

So what's different about the t889 as opposed to the n7100? Would it not work?

Telus Mobility Note 2

For anyone out there that is using Telus's version of the phone. I have successfully rooted my unit with CF in and also successfully installed TWRP and made a nandroid. I also listed the stock baseband and model number on my phone. I have already read and seen about 3-5 people that have tried flashing custom roms on there Telus note 2 from the international forum. Do not do that, there is currently as of Nov 11 2012 no custom roms that can be flashed for your Note 2. There is one Kernel
SGH-1317M
4.1.1
BASEBAND I317MVLALJ2
Thanks for the info. I will be receiving mine on Monday.
Actually you can flash the rom of n7105, which is the international lte version. So you can now have the multi-windows feature.

Awesome... I've had my Telus model for a full 7 days and its a beauty... I rooted before Chainfire got his auto root deal going so look him up and that'll be the way to go... his Triange Away app is also updated to our device to get rid of that naggy flash counter... 8)
I uploaded a stock, rooted nand to developer ptmr3 so I'm thinking something sweet might come our way. .. multi-view would be sweet!
Cheers all...

has to be a rom without modem flash also tho or you will loose signal! but still thats sweet news! just edit your build.prop to fix model back to normal
Okay very interesting. Thanks for the update on the International LTE model units. Wow i used to think it was important to read first then flash Now i know... Its important to read once, then again, then again, just to make sure, then flash. I can see a ton of bricked notes lolll

AT&T Galaxy Note 2. I recommend following the video below.
http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-note-2-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-2-easiest-method/
Pause the video when u too.
After you flash it, Boot up your phone, go to the Play Store and dl GooManager.
Install GooManager, open up GooManager.
Hit the Menu key and choose 'Install OpenRecoveryScript' and 'Yes', it'll install twrp.
Boot your phone into recovery and install your choice of rom from the 'AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 2' forum.
I recommend the JellyThunder Blackout RC3.0 Rom.

Flashing Different Carriors Roms: Successful vs. Unsuccessful

Normally I Would't Suggest Flashing another carrier ROM but For Some reason People have Figured it out on the Note 11 far the first time I'Ve Seen.So for my own curiosity and im sure others as well. Lets try to make a list of all the compatible non T-Mobile roms for the Note II.
AT&T - JELLYBEER
At&T - JELLYBAM
AT&T - CleanRom
N7105 - International LL1
AT&T - JellyThunder
If you are new to flashing, please dont be the first to try new Roms. And apparently no 7100 roms!!!
Ive read somewhere we can flash any US Variant Rom as long as no modem or radio is included. But I find that hard to believe. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
If I'm missing any Rom's, will happily add to list
I use the international LL1 for the N7105. Works like a dream.
Sent from my GT-P5113 using xda premium
Jellythunder from at&t works great also.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
Thanks for input. Now have to ask why did you flash those specific ones? Does it say compatible in thread or just flashed and worked

I know for a fact (as I have tried myself) AT&T, T-Mobile (obviously), 7105, and Sprint. Sprint did require a kernel flash (boot.img). Otherwise a modem flash is required (unless the Rom does not flash the modem, then you need not flash a modem)
Basically here is how it works:
T-Mobile : ROM
AT&T: ROM, modem
7105: ROM, modem
Sprint: ROM, modem, kernel
I would guess, Verizon would work the same as Sprint.
Sent from my SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
EDIT: had to add AOSP kernels are not the same as stock Samsung kernels. Basically for AOSP kernel get the boot.img from your CM7/AOKP/PA whatever AOSP ROM for your phone (I took it from madmack's CM10 and applied it to the Sprint PA ROM)

There is a dev, Teshxx who is doing a fine job of porting international and roms from other carriers. He uses the rom for a base and adapts it to the T889. The N7105 roms are stock samsung, no carrier bloat.
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda premium
Hi there guys. I too can confirm this. The all us carrier deal anyway. There are easy ways and there are better or right ways. The easy way only really requires a few lines swapped and or deleted on the rom you want and the rom your specific device requires. I've tested twice. Sprint and att via testing the two ports done by a few verizon users . However from what we've experienced ( mind you this us s3 and not note 2) you don't have to flash or worry as far as I've noticed any radios or rpm as those are written to the partitions via your ota or flashing seperately ..And we also flashed different kernel. This is just more testimony and not saying I know any facts or that I personally port or figured this out on my own. A couple of very nice devs in our verizon forum shared this info. And now many are succeeding. Thanks and hope I'm not jacking your note 2 thread. Lol

Great thread as I was wondering which ROMs I could flash safely and which I couldn't on my T-Mobile T889.
What kernel is everyone using on their Tmobile Note II, when its needed? Perseus?
Also can someone shoot me a link to the modem they flashed on their Tmo Note II?
Thanks

I am running jellybam from AT&T with its kernel. I was using the newest radio from the dev section but lost Bluetooth on my phone. Reverted to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33308483 and all is working now.

Okay, so when you go to flash a T-Mobile rom you should probably update to the latest radio right? Also how do you flash radios?
Thanks

I would probably try but I reverted to stock trying to fix my GPS issue but it still would not work. It may just be me with the issues. As for how to flash a radio. There are update.zip files that you can use in the dev section.

[Q] N7105 Roms?

Why is there little to no Rom Development for the N7105 version of the Note II?
I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs hoping for something epic to arise :crying:
Also, is there any possible way of flashing an N7100 rom without causing instability?
There are custom roms actually: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1960
No idea for the compatibility but I think it could work.
You can flash anything from the tmobile and att note 2 forums on your n7105

anyway, for less experienced members like me it would be safer to wait for a "full ROM pack"
Theres not much in the way of custom Roms available at the moment. Wannam did say he was considering a port of his rom and I would love for Indie to port the Omega Rom.
However I am running a deodexed stock rom with Nova launcher and a few tweaks flashed such as multi windows, auto call recording and Directory Bind and you'd never know the difference. You just have to find compatible versions of the tweaks you want to flash and flash them individually.
Ram usage isn't really an issue but if you want the bloat removed just freeze with titanium backup.

[Q] ROMS are limited for N7105. Will N7100 work?

There are very few ROMS available for the N7105. Would the N7100 ROMs work? I assume I would surely lose LTE, but that is not an issue for me. I have no LTE anyway.
Try at&t version threads. Currently im using jedi rom on the at&t version and my orginal phone model is n7105. Be sure to make a backup of your phone. And download the necessary csc files just in case.

[Q] GT-n7100 rom on SGH-i317

Ok so I currently have the Slim kat ROM on my Sgh-i317. I noticed when I installed it, it changed my phone's identity to a GT-N7100. So it made me curious, is there a way i could flash a ROM for a gtn7100 on my SGH? I really really like the jelly kat rom for this model, and if it is possible, the next question is if there exists a [insert proper technical term here] to support ATT LTE coverage?
Thanks,
Jay Zimmerman

Not easy at all as a true n7100 rom flashes but has no baseband or data. To fix it would require proper kernel, modem, bin, lib, etc and csc files from a n7105 or i317 rom.
