Are you following the charge steps?
Like wait till 3-4 times charge cycle before complaining about the battery?
Because when you just flashed new rom you should do that. And cosrum didn't drains battery too much. Although yes it is drain a faster than GB rom. But not that bad.

I've already do it. I calibrate my battery every i just flashed my hh and wait till 3-4 times charge cycle. But, is there any cusrom that saver than the other for a battery use?. Because for me, saver on battery use is a main priority.

If you're using CM9b4, try the CastagnaIT Kernel.

{PRO} [Q] Is this normal battery life?

Hi,
I've been mostly using stock gingerbread on my Xperia Pro and thought the battery life was pretty ok. It lasted at least the whole day. Now I'm using Jelly Sandwich with and it goes from 60% to 30% in just over an hour with no wifi, no 3g, no SIM card, screen on full brightness. That's alot of drainage to me, but I want to know what you get on ICS?

Allright, would be cool to see some comparison of all the roms and the battery life. Wich stock based kernel do you think has the best battery life?

yes, thats possible... but I think maybe the app I use to test battery life (nova battery tester) is running some stress to make it drain faster as well, not sure. I will continue testing

What's your "Screen on" time? I usually get 30-36 hours using stock kernel on V8. Have you cleared cache/dalvik? Also, check to see if you have any runaway processes by going to Settings > Battery and seeing what's eating up your battery power.
You can always try another kernel also. I run faux's kernel and I love it.

This is my battery life on the ROM
Is it better on other roms? If not, maybe bad batter, but if so, first you need to start fresh with this rom and wipe everything and start over. It should not lose 12% with only 4 minutes of on screen time.
Here's my battery stats as of today. Mind you, my ROM is really debloated.

Lol who told ya that you have to wipe battery stats every time ya charge the phone. wiping battery stats on newer batteries don't do anything at all anyways. Let alone every time you charge the device.

I faced the same problem, its a battery issue, check if it's a little "fat" than usual, if so then replace it for a new one.

Your battery life is over, throw it away and go buy a new one It isn't cost much.
simple battery test:
1) Remove battery from phone
2) Place battery in a flat surface
3) Spin the battery:
a) if the battery spun more than 360 degrees - time to replace the battery
b) if not - try replacing your ROM and fiddle with power settings

Lol !! What does anything physical have to do with the charge holding capacity of the battery ? Except for the bulge, nothing physical should affect it normally. It is just that android misguides us in certain situations like, it shows battery 100% on charging for only 5 minutes. What you can do is, charge your phone blindly for 3 hours when you are running low on it. And test your battery, it should work. Don't wipe battery stats , etc., it doesn't help. Battery calibration is all but fake. Instead you can try a fresh flash after a full wipe to have a better battery life. Hope this helps everyone.

well, I'm really sorry for reply even when there's an advice of improper threat, but I tried all these methods and in my case nothing really gave me a good battery life, I changed my Rom, I'm actually on stock lite, I have a new battery, I'm also did the full wipe and clean flash thing, and calibration, nothing really nothing makes my battery life goes more than 4 hrs. so... I don't know what else to do, someone told me to buy a new phone lol xD
Re: galaxy ace phone battery charges and drains very fast any solution???????
For better battery life, the basics work good. WiFi, Bluetooth, data, GPS, auto sync, background data,3G, etc should be off and brightness should be low. Do one thing. Let your phone to the service center for a couple of days. They'll test and confirm you any other faults inn case. But don't forget to flash stock via Odin before giving it to them.

For me the same thing happened. My battery was FAT! and would spin.try brix99's method. Buy a new battery solved my problem.
BTW I am not a noob. I tried all kinds of calibration. It just made my battery more swollen. I flashed stock, charged it 2 and half hours after it said full charged. Then even tried overnight charge-full use to 0% and fu8ll charge again .. No results.. I bought a new battery and changed ROMs and I can see the difference.
its solved

Battery drain on 4.2.2 Roms

Hey guys, I have a terrible problem here. The problem is that I got tired of Sense and I love stock android 4.2 and I just cannot use roms built on that android version because the battery drain is humongous. Using my phone just to check twitter and facebook and it goes down in 3 hours. I tried Cyannogen Mod and I'm now on Icecoldjelly both with Xm kernel and it is always the same. This is terribly annoying because the roms are perfect and so is the phone, except for that battery. Does anybody recommend I do something, are there some mods/tweaks to increase battery life? Is I cleared battery stats and performed more than 3 charge cycles, in case you ask. Thank you, hope you can help me
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
haha! and I thought I was the only one... I see people who are getting 15-18 hours on ICJ...
I also get terribly low battery backup... even though battery is calibrated.. Sync off... Auto Brightness.. etc etc...
However, on sense roms I get great battery!

I would suggest a faulty battery, I use mine for twit and fb too and a whole load of other stuff but i get a lot more than 3 hours. I am on slimbean 4.2 now but I have tried cyanogen 10.1 and icj, both of which gave me similar battery life to slim, although neither of them could equal slimbean they were not as bad as you are experiencing

The reply wasn't intended to get you to try slim, only to show that not all 4.2 roms are as heavy on battery. there are plenty of others to try, I just prefer slim
I get around this much:

I'd say thats about normal, but the op's 3 hours is seriously wrong. I would have to use navigation, music, facebook, twitter and XDA all at the same time to run my battery down that fast
With minimal usage I got around 5/6 hours. I'm going to try other roms and settings to see if I get this right. I'm currently on slim. I'll see how it performs tomorrow. If it goes bad then wth, I'll just go back to a Sense rom
Disable auto sync/fb location... use trickster mod and set governor to smartmax and IO scheduler to row/sio...
Cap the max frequency to 1.2 GHz... Use greenify to hibernate apps which you don;t need..
There is absolutely no lag for me... When I want to play some games I just switch to interactive or gaming governor!
Thanks everybody, I found my daily driver, today I got 13 hours with regular usage and still 25% to go, slimbean is the best. Even if it was not a recommendation to test the rom, it helped a lot

Although CM's battery file has never been as good as stock' due to high android_system usage, it shouldn't be %44 in just 4 hours.
Install "Better Battery Stats" and see what is keeping your cpu awake.
At 43% now after 7h 29m.
Screen 37.99%
Android os 25.61%
Chrome 6.26%
Google backup transport 4.99%
Media server 3.84%

Don't expect more with aosp/cm roms in terms of battery performance. I've tried various roms from carbon, Slim Bean to sentinel with all three kernels from Redpill, uneak and the stock kernel. I even tried to Greenify and I had almost no partial wake locks, and the most I could get out of it was 5hours screen time and maximum 12hours between each charge cycle. They still need a lot more. At the moment I've switched back to a stock based ROM giving me upto 7hours screen time on auto brightness and 24hours between charge cycle. And although, I lose all those exciting features from aosp, battery life is one of the most important factor why I got it in the first place.
