hey everyone. I have a question. I searched but didn't see what I was looking for in this phone forum. I got the N2 on Friday, came from the epic touch. I was running Easy Profiles on the e4gt and wanted to use it again on the N2. Well, I am still am for sound changes. But one of the main reasons I use EP is to disable the lock screen when I was at home and enable it when I was not at home. I know jellybean broke EPs capability for this. So... my question is... what else can I use? I don't mind using a widget but the auto changer with EP was awesome! (and once they fix it, I'll go back to that primarily I'm sure) I've tried no lock and no lock screen. neither disable the lock screen. I've tried all 3 apps with my systems settings as slide to lock, lock with pattern and no lock. it's just not doing what I want it to and I'm at a loss. if I set the system lock to any type of lock, no lock and no screen lock wouldn't keep it unlocked when it was engaged. if I changed the system settings to no lock, the 2 apps wouldn't lock it. easy profiles has 2 different options with the lock screen and I've tried multiple variations with that too. does anyone have any suggestions? ideas? apps to try? I am currently downloading a few ROMs to try out but I'm thinking it's a jellybean issue and not a stock rom issue.
I was in the exact same boat and loved EasyProfiles.
I started using Tasker yesterday and checked out: http://tasker.wikidot.com/profile-index
I still at noob at it but managed to disable the pattern keyguard.
Now I think it is a JB limitation but Tasker ability to disable kerguard stops once you chose something in the Notification bar.
Check it out, what they say about it true. Tasker is awesome and I'm only now learning how great it is- like automating talking SMS when in the car. EasyProfiles couldn't do that.
thanks. I'll look into it again. I downloaded it last night but uninstalled because I didn't see what I was looking for and didn't have the brain capacity to figure it out!
Try this for starters:
Profile "Unlock wifi" - State -> Net -> wifi connected
Task "Unlock"- Display -> Keyguard -> off
I used that to work yesterday and will play/learn more today.
Like I said though, accessing the notifications makes it lock again so I toggle the wifi off/on to make Tasker disable keyguard again.
I installed secure settings from the market, disabled everything but pattern lock in it. then went back to easy profiles, set locale app as secure settings and so far it's working.

Hey fellas, to lock my phone I use the pattern lock, but since yesterday every time I lock the phone with power button or sleeps itself after 2 minutes, it doesn't show me the 'draw pattern screen', just the regular 'slide to unlock'.
So, I go and set the pattern up again, and lock it, it shows the 'draw pattern screen' and only shows once, after I lock the phone again, it won't appear anymore.
I'm using CM6.1.1, obviously rooted phone.
Any help or suggestions? Moderators feel free to move this post to cyanogen's thread if needed. Don't know if this might be a problem of CM itself.
Did you enable any of the quick unlock settings in Cyanogenmod settings? I bet my breakfast (which I already ate, sorry) that its because you need to review those CM settings. In User Input or something or other.
Uncheck all of those settings (that enable quick unlock)
(besides those pattern locks are easily hacked -- with the right light and the right amount of grease from your finger anyone can see your "path to unlock" - Im just sayin!)
Sorry man, that quick unlock feature is definetly not checked, it's under "settings/cyanogenmod settings/input settings", quick unlock not checked.
U owe me a pancake lol.
I dont remember getting creative with locking and unlocking settings, the weirdest thing I did was to install a few themes to the phone. Imma try putting everything to default, and start from there.
I've experienced some unlock and lock issues with cm6 aswell. It seemed as if there are settings that conflict with eachother. What happened to me was I changed it to rotory unlock with lock set to immediately engage on screen off. After changing that it wouldn't lock but the screen would turn off. I had to set it to 1 second and then reboot then it would lock just fine.

What surprises me is that it stopped working for some reason, because I've been using cm6.1.1 for a couple of weeks and worked perfectly..

don't remember where the setting is but it sounds like the time-out setting is not proper, the phone does not lock right away if it is sitting on the table and goes to sleep on it's own but you can set it to do that, i had mine set to 30 seconds so that if the screen turned off while i was waiting for something to download or happen i didn't have to unlock with my pin each time. look through the settings (probably security or cm settings) for the proper tweak, i would give better instructions but i'm currently on miui ROM

Yeah, these settings are found under CM Settings->User Interface (down at the bottom). I don't think these will be the cause though, since the OP said he didn't really mess with any of the settings. Also, I don't think the settings would cause the "Slide to Unlock" screen to appear (the phone would simply turn the screen back on to whatever was last on, no pattern unlock, no lock screen).
Have you installed any new widgets or lockscreen apps recently? Out of curiosity, have you tried any of the other lock types just to see if they do the same thing (like PIN or password).
Hey there,
I'm using extended controls and a lock pattern. whenever I disable auto lock in extended control, it completely removes the lock, so neither patternlock (what I want to disable) NOR slide-lock is shown: Is there a way to toggle: pattern lock and slide lock and perhaps no-lock at all? currently the toggling of patternlock is NOT working really well since extended control brings me to the settings-screen where I always have to disable / re-enable (->thus reentering a pattern) myself.
perhaps there's a software which brings its own lockscreen and thus allows something like that...
rooted desire with oxygen 2.2. thanks!
I've not heard of something like that, but I'm not saying it doesn't exist.. I see you're using an AOSP ROM, if you tried cyanogenmod, it has a feature that allows you to disable and enable the screen lock, and then re-enable it.. or, you can also set-up delay settings, so the phone only locks after e.g. 5 minutes
Don't forget to nandroid backup when switching ROMs!
It's really a pain. In android 2.1 it was possible... And I really don't understand why users don't want to have such a feature: I don't always enable pattern lock but though I don't want to disdable locking completely because the phone COULD EASILY go on and do something stupid in my pocket - thus I want to keep a simple slide unlock and sometimes (e.g. when I'm at home and have the phone laying around all the time for the whole day), I want to disable a locking screen completely since I'm not transporting it in my pocket
Alright, so I was setting up my ls990 and during the setup of everything (apps/widgets/screens/you know) I managed, or perhaps my phone managed, to simply stop displaying lock screen shortcuts. I know what you may be thinking, no, there are no passwords, knock codes, pins, locks, mods, extras, or anything that *could* cause this.
It's a simple swipe to unlock, that's it, there are shortcuts 'set' in the lock screen settings as you'd expect, but no matter what fiddling, swiping, or press-and-holding I try will bring them back. Every last combination of settings and lock screen fidgeting and 'oops I deleted the default circle lock screen widget thingy but found out how to bring it back and also learned how to set the default lock screen page that will show when I turn the screen on'-ing will make them show again... So after on and off and mostly on playing around with it over the last 10 hours or so, and seeing how it is now 5 am where I live, and certainly the tunnel vision has set in or I'm just plain ol' dumb and/or incapable of swiping my own buttons, I'd figure that somewhere in the population of LG g3 owning & xda browsing intelligental(wo)mens there could be somebody to set my plain ol' dumb button pushing straight.
Any ideas?
Posting on the chrome browser from my nifty ls990 via my Wi-Fi connection, tanks.
Well anything? Need smart people please, I'll consider this a bump.
Do you see the Emergency Call box at the bottom? I just had that same issue, and it appeared to be triggered by a lack of signal or going into roaming mode. Setting the device into Airplane Mode brought the shortcuts back for me. Here's exactly what I did:
1. Set the device into Airplane Mode (I used the shortcut from the notification shade).
2. Lock the device.
3. Hit the power button to bring up the lock screen. Verified shortcuts were there.
4. Shut off Airplane Mode (once again, used shortcut).
Let me know if that works...
I have no idea what I would have done to cause this but I seem to have lost the option to customize my lock screen shortcuts from the lock screen settings menu. I know I had the option even earlier today but now it's just gone. I've been running SkyDragon 0.0.5 for weeks now and I can't think of anything else I would've changed that would have made the option disappear. I should probably also mention that I'm running Xposed with the lock screen disabler module but I've also been running that for quite a while. I can still see the lock screen shortcuts that I had previously set up, but now I can't change them.
Anyone have any ideas?
Anyone?
Hello all you lovely people I recently upgrade to LP and now the switcher I used on KK isn't working. I used Easy Profiles to switch my lock screen from "none" to "pattern", also used security settings to make it work. It has other features but what I'm looking for is a profile manager that will change the lock screen based on my location/wifi/whatever. EP turned off my lock screen when I connected to my home wifi and turned on the pattern lockscreen when I left my wifi. I could also easily tap a profile and it would change the settings then. I've tried several profile managers (sorry I can't remember them all... basically if you search "profile manager" in the play store, I tried it) and none manage the lock screen. Does anyone have any suggestions? I went to the EP webpage and they aren't planning on development for LP at this time

I tried llama before I found easy profiles, I found it difficult to understand/navigate. I tried it again recently and it wasn't switching the lock screen when switching profiles. I'm beginning to wonder if it's not a 5.0 limitation. It was a limit with 4.4 (I believe that was the build) and the work around was to install security settings and set a few items. That worked in conjunction with EP to show/hide the lockscreen

LP has built-in profiling called "trust agents" that will do just that. It basically allows you to set a trusted location based on wifi/bluetooth/NFC using the trusted agents in "security" within settings on the stock LP ROM with Touchwiz. I have mine set to only use my lockscreen when at home and to use the secure lock screen with pattern/fingerprint/pin/password when anywhere else. I hope that helps.
I'm not on a stock ROM. I looked under security>trust agents but it's greyed out and I can't select it. And so is "smart lock". I'm running "BOB7V3Final ROM
