Nexus no "Set data limit" - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

hey everyone,
just bought a Samsung Nexus.and my phone plan doensn't include data. i accidently used some data due to an update etc.
im wondering why my Nexus doesn't have the "set limit data" toggle in the Data usage settings?

I can't imagine why your phone doesn't have it. All the others do. But if you don't have any data plan at all that's the wrong option for you anyway. You should just disable data entirely.

You need data enabled to see the check box...

I have a data plan and its on
but somehow I don't get the toggle
It's just WiFi and mobile data mixed
Does anybody know how to solve this?
Would help me out a lot!
I have a nexus 4 running liquid smooth ROM and faux kernel
Thnx

It's a set mobile data limit check box, there is no toggles.
Beamed from my Grouper

Check the box "set data limit", choose the interval period (example 1-31), choose your limit (example 1GB)...done

The "set mobile limit" checkbox is missing

Enable mobile data and magically it appears maybe

Mobile data was on all the time,
Isn't there some way to reset the particular data usage app or to reinstall it?

It should be there. OP is probably not looking hard enough

Same problem too. Set data toggle is missing and both mobile data/wifi consumption seem to have merged.

Are you not using stock Android? That is not what the data usage screen looks like in 4.3.

The problem does turn up here and there for people:
https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-253
I've seen it too, though not currently on the Nexus but with CM 10.1 on E4GT.
The Internet seems to have no answer for this.

Battery saving tips ICS, cm9, maybe AOKP...

Just wanted to share for the people that arnt aware.
Hit menu, developer settings.
1. Force GPU rendering.
2. Limit background processes to 3 or 4 (this will need to be set on every reboot).
3. Turn both animations off.
I say may work on aokp, because I havnt used it yet.
This may turn into a full blown "battery saving tips" thread, but atm its for ICS.

I'm sure most people know, but for the slow ones like me, would you mind a little how-to for your tips? I can do the limit background processes, but don't know how to do the others...
Thanks!

The tips 1-3 are all in the same menu, developer settings. Sorry I couldnt post the image, using xda app, not allowing me to, but theres the direct link.

LOL , thanks Adrian, and yeah Im about tired of the new advanced 3g in Atl. Better speeds outside maybe, less signal penetration, definitely.

Sadly that's where the advantages of GSM shine
I just went through the animations, it doesn't make sense why people would want to be turning at x10 its redunk lol
anyone know if in ICS theres an option like in GB to turn 'background data' off?

Yep. You can either shut the 3G off from: Settings > Wireless and Network > More > Mobile Networks > 3G data [checkbox].
OR you can just turn the background data off like you said: Settings > Accounts and Sync > ON/OFF switch in the upper bar.
Hope this helps. You can also use Juice defender or something like it to stop the background data automatically and let it connect once every 15, 30, 60 minutes or so...

Facebook showing GPS usage when it's disabled (4.2.1)?

Why does the GPS area in the screenshot show over 90 minutes of usage when I have GPS turned off? Any ideas?

Facebook has been long known to be a poorly coded app (even the newest version) I've stuck to using the browser only because it's so buggy. I'd chalk it up to that...
Turn location off inside settings of app.

The lastest build of their app is by far the worst I have used personally. Someone posted an older build which does not have as many features, but it is way less buggy.
LMK if you want a link.

Another update in play store but I'm gonna pass...
same issue!
im seeing the same problem on my phone now, simply annoying. its my #1 battery drain even without using the phone or app.
app can be completely off, not on process list, gps turned off, location turned off in app, still goes up! might start using the mobile site instead of app.... until this can be fixed

That's exactly what was happening with my phone. I've been using the app that dschreiber69 provided earlier in this thread, but because Facebook eats so much battery on this phone I haven't been using it much anymore. Furthermore, I haven't been using Facebook much on either my phone or a computer. I'm getting sick of it, same crap every day. Nothing new. Blah.

Hey even I'm facing the same issue. I normally turn off the mobile data and turn it on, it would solve the issue. I know its a temporary solution, hope we could get an update soon!

Even the weather animations doesn't work and the weather application says unable to get forecast data
Any solution?

Messenger and Whatsapp calls not working ONLY on mobile data

Hey guys.. a bit of na issue here.
I was abroad and had my roaming on (NO DATA only calls and SMS)
When I returned back home and turned on my data my Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp calls are not working on Mobile data. They work just fine on Wi-FI but not on data.
My APN is configured as it should be (checked that with my provider).
Any thoughts, advice?

good point. I have hangouts since I have gmail anyway.
i'm sure you've checked you have remaining transfer.
1. i'd turn on mobile data, turn the phone off, reinsert sim, turn on.
2. if not - reset network settings.
3. if not - https://www.maketecheasier.com/fix-cellular-data-not-working-on-android/
i'd try 1, 3, 2.
Transfer (balance) checked.
Reinserted SIM. SInce it's dual sim I tried the second one. The second one is working (it's a different provider). Tried swapping cards and the issue follows card.
Reset network settings to no avail.
Tried changing APN to no avail.
Carrier keeps telling me they can't do anything. I'm thinking of doing a factory reset but I don't want to brick my phone.
Anything else I could try?
Check your settings according to mine which work fine.

I ever use this app either on miui or AOSP and never had this issue, try clearing cache and data and restart the app and if needed uninstall and reinstall it. The first screen you´ll have is "Add remote", then Mi TV/Mi Box and a second later they´ll appear all the other options.
Try to switch off wifi and data usage and then try to launch the app and see if it works

This is strange, try to update the app through Play Store, clearing first all data and cache. I ever use it without care that Wifi is on or off.

It did used to work as yours, I guess it started since last update.
I can't use with any kind of connection (mobile data or Bluetooth).
