I'm new to Android devices (and loving it) and thus new to the customizing world. My question is I have seen many photos of people using what I think is Uccw but where I have 0 missed calls they seem to have a little icon next to it and the same for missed txt how are they able to do this or am I using the wrong app totally?
Just side info thought may or may not be needed. I'm using

I am looking for an app that will help organize my contacts, previous dialed, missed calls, etc into separate views instead of everything on one screen that the stock app does. Thanks.

GoContacts does that. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jbapps.contact&hl=en. I've used it quite extensively, even up until yesterday (did a fresh install of Affinity) and it works very well. Has a lot of the features of the sense dialer and adds a lot more customization and organization.
It's perfect! Thanks!

nice app thanks
I have fallen in love with pretty much everything made by the Go Team! And the fact that everything is FREE doesn't hurt at all.
Go Contacts or Dialer One work very good. I have used both and each have their pros and cons, but well worth a look!
Acontacts is my favourite so far. Smoother and faster than GoContacts. I think it's actually the fastest of all dialers. You can add functionality with the available plugins...
A lot of people seem to like "contapps"

I'm taking a wild guess here, but I think that if you are creative enough to hide some important things from certain people, I'm sure you will find a way for this as well.

Did a google search for see emoji on android and found this. I have used this thread or one that is similar to this before. While it worked and I was able to see certain emojis that people were using (not 100% of them), you are never going to get the full emoji experience as you would with IOS. After using this the emojis do not show up as they would IOS but a different icon attempting to show the same emotion. It took me awhile to do this and wasnt pleased with the outcome because I was expecting a full experience. If I am wrong, please correct me because I would like to be corrected on this topic. I hope one day we will have a full emoji experience on Android.
This is just a thread for thoughts and ideas that people want to share!
I like apps and after owning windows 7, iPhone and android I have an idea for how apps should look like, if anyone own iOS they can tell you tweetbot is one of the best apps on it, or android tweet lanes looks really good but needs speeds performance, anyways I would like to know what apps you like the a lot but would love to be updated to ICS Holo look and feel, IMO the app that I used the most is Tapatalk, probably the best money I spent on android app so far(and titanium backup anyways the app is great but miss the ICS feel, I wish they could updated to make it feel more Holo look and feel like tweet lanes, swiping will be cool to go from recent to favorites , what app would you like updated?

I would love for the HD netflix app to be updated.
I'd like the Hotmail app to be renamed to "Outlook" and completely redesigned/updated to match the web interface of the new Outlook.com email client released by Microsoft.
And for those who don't know what I'm talking about, the new Outlook.com really does compete and even beat out Gmail in MANY aspects including features, simplicity, and attachment size allowed.

Yeah I've been with them for a while. From msn to hotmail and now to outlook. The new look is awesome.
I wish they would update 2 apps.
1. Awesome Beats - so it works with apps other than Google Play.
2. CWM Touch Recovery - so it saves backups with the correct date and time.
I know this might sound trivial but this is the only ROM I've seen with customized messaging app that includes pop up, my question is how come no one includes a way in the ROM or app to set individual contact notifications without downloading another app

First of all, I have no idea what rom your talking about. I'm assuming ANYTHING based on CM10 or AOKP code.
Second, stock android has never had custom notifications for individual contacts. And to do this someone would actually have to code it! Maybe they'll get around to it, maybe they won't. Maybe it never crossed their minds because they don't use such a thing, or maybe because there's apps for that! but for native support, it has to be something a dev actually wants to have.
Not trying to be a douche either, just informing :highfive:
Sorry codename android 3.6.0 but yeah I find it really handy to know who is texting you without picking up the phone

I am also running CNA 3.6.0 but I do not know where the option to set custom notification tone for individual contact. Can you help me please?
Honestly no where, to achieve this you need to go to messaging settings turn off notifications, go to play store download sms popup and enable it and then find contact notifications.

MIUI also includes sms popups in the stock app
Yes but those pop UPS don't support individual notifications as far as I know
