Is there any way to have working led notofication on turned on screen in non-sense roms ? (AOSP based)
I ask because it works on turned off screen, so why it doesn't work when screen is on ?
Is there any way to turn it on ?

It's not blinking when the screen is on because you can see the notification without it. Try lightflow from play store it might work when the screen is on.

If you think it is a bug, report it in ICJ thread. And try out that lightflow app.

I got the app and it definitely works.
Its great, get it !
Thanks guys !
Yeah I use Led Me Know too. You can choose if you want the trackpad to blink, or the LED at the top of the phone.
Add [SOLVED] to your thread title please.

I got my Z a couple of weeks ago and my phone seems to do this straight out of the box??
eg - I get a txt and the trackpad light blinks. If I have a missed call the the LED at the top of the phone flashes.
Although, I was going to ask the question to see if I can get the LED to blink when I receive a txt because sometimes you cant always see the track pad flashing depending how the light is hitting the phone (if its laying flat for example).
I will also try the suggested app
Yea.. my G2's trackpad ring just slowly pulses if there's a new notification.
I believe the app causes the led to blink more frequently.

I tried led me know but it didn't do anything, on my rooted phone , any suggestions?
When I test the app, it makes the green led blink, but when the actual whatsapp message or an sms arrives, no blinky light

I know this is a silly question but do you have it enabled?

Yeah I actually though the stock trackpad notification on my phone (DZ) didn't work. But I found it was actually blinking every 10 secs or slow - which is too slow for me to have a quick glance at the phone to see if I've got messages.
Also, I have my phone in a vertical pouch, with the power button at the opening. So with Led Me Know and the LED notification set, I only have to pull the very top bit of the phone out of the pouch to check the LED.

Indeed, make sure it's on. Also, there's a "test" option within the app to let you see what it's going to do when it gets a notification.
If it's still not working, try removing the app and reinstalling it again.
Hi all, I've just missed called my gn phone to check how the led notifications are working, I see no led notification at all, no led lights anywhere on the phone to let me know I have a missed call? Is there something I need to set up, thanks

Check your notification settings
There is also an option "pulse notification light" in Display settings.
i have the same problem.
i have ticked the option "pulse notification light" in Display settings but th eLED doesnt flash after receiving a miscall. i waited a few mins and still nothing.
i know the LED works because it flashes while the caller is calling, but just switches off after the caller hangs up.
is there another notification setting for this other than the one in Display Settings?
The notification LED has been implemented pretty badly natively. In addition to not appearing very consistently it also only flashes white. Look for the app Light Flow on the market and use that instead.

Thanks Chrono.
I just saw the Light Flow app recommended on the other LED notifications thread and tried it, and it works well!
But yes i agree its seems a pretty sloppy implementation by default, i hope it gets fixed in a software update, although i probably wont be moving away from light flow with all the extra control you get with it
I have light flow, and when my screen shuts off, the LED light keeps blinking (white.) Any idea how to make this stop?

Well... my solution was to uninstall it.
Basically I found that while Light Flow was pretty neat, I was getting quite a few random notifications (i.e. LED flashing but no notifications in the bar) that would only stop after rebooting.
Eventually I got fed up with it and removed the app. Shame.

Hey, I would try clearing the apps data or a reinstall to see if that fixes it. I am using it the past two months and never had an issue. Good luck.
Check your lightflow notification settings and see which notification is set to flash white. If it's SMS or email, make sure that you don't just clear the notifications by just swiping it off the drop down menu but actually go into the apps and mark them as read. Otherwise lightflow will still detect them as unread and notify you.
If none of the notifications are set to flash white then you might have not set lightflow up properly. Go to your accessibility settings and make sure that lightflow is enabled. If that doesn't fix it uninstall and reinstall the app.

Never had any issues with Light Flow, but don't use sleep mode as an LED blinking when on charge isn't going to wake me up (AudioGuru mutes sound on sleep profile, mind)
Ultimately if you're having issues get in touch with the developer as only they can fix the issue
Disable the notifications for anything that is set to use the White color. It should solve the problem. You most likely have the notification set to only clear when you enter the application. I personally prefer to clear it when my screen turns on because if my screen has turned on, then I have already "checked" the notification and don't need that light continuously flashing.
Phantom notifications has long been an android problem. Its not light flow specific

Sorry if this is a noob question but I have only just noticed this and I have had HTC phones for quite a few years and none of them did this.
Also this is my second HOX as my first one had dead pixels and that one did not do this.
Every time I receive a text message the screen lights up and it goes onto the lock screen, is this normal and can it be turned off.
I am on a stock phone, not rooted and latest update 1.28 and no other settings change.
Thanks
Rob
When I get a text it makes a noise and the LED flashes but the screen does not come on.

Actually I want my screen to light on when I receive a text message. Is there a way to turn that on on stock rom 1.28?
Mine seems to turn on the screen, AND the music bugs - it plays through the speaker on the phone for a second... Someone said you can turn this feature off? How?
(I'm using the Revolution HD 4.0 ROM)

I think I found it
Mine lights up as well and i use the Productivity LockScreen. When i receive a message the phone lights up,the LED flashes green and the text is displayed on my lockscreen.
My screen turn on with incoming messages too. Using stock messenger app. I think handcent and go SMS allows for the screen to stay off
As I always keep the phone on silent mode therefore my one x only vibrates and the led blinks

You can turn off the ambient notifications in Venom Tweaks > Misc. I liked them at first, but found that when they came up with my phone in my pocket, that the phone would wake thinking the notification had been clicked on when I'm walking or at work. The touchscreen is pretty sensitive with the M8.
