Got a Note 2 sent right to me after tmo dropped them, and its been working perfect til the last few days. When i get s call i cant hear anything thru the earpiece. until i call them back then its fine. has anyone else had this problem? I have searched on xda and google it and cant seem to find anyone else having this same problem. Im gonna go to tmo and see what they say but i really dont want to hassle with getting a new phone.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Tmobile dropped what? I dont understand what you mean....

I meant i called tmo to get a not3 2 the day they dropped them on the market, the day they released them.
I just went to tmo and talked to them and they said they have had many people come in the store with the same complaint and that its a network /tower issue and they are working on it.
im in the DFW area BTW

Are you using wifi calling? There's been known issues with people not being heard either from caller to receiver or receiver to caller.
NO sir, I tried switching on and off wifi calling and airplane mode. pullled battery, and master reset. Tmo said it was a network issue.
So no one is having problems not hearing the caller on a incoming call????

So, I am really getting irritated that you can not dismiss a call or the call wont dismiss itself when you are on call waiting and want to get rid of 1 caller. Then, once you have used the call waiting 1 time on a phone call, since it doesn't disconnect itself when the person you want to dismiss hangs up, there is no option to answer another call when it comes in. There has to be a way to fix this flaw, and there are so many of you intelegent devs out there. was wondering if any of you know a way to fix this. Also if you could, while on 3 way call make it to be able to go back to only one caller on the line without having to hang up on everybody. Thanks in advance for anyone that has a fix for this.
Omg I hate that so muchhhhh. I think its something to do with android cuz this was how it was on my hero
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
It's actually a CDMA limitation on Sprint's part (network), not anything particular to do with Android.
Forgive My Brevity. To Be Or Not To Be...
i didn't have that problem on my moment
And I've never had it with any phone I've ever had with sprint, and I've been with sprint since about 2000. This is definitely a samsung issue, but all they can tell me is that they are working on it.
I don't know.... I still have that same issue on my touch pro 2 with sprint. My girl has the evo and same **** there too perhaps it is either a sprint thing or cdma thing

No offense but that is bull. We have the issue on our Epcis but not on our Evo, and absolutely not an issue on TP2!
So devs, is there anyway to fix this?
Thank you
Thank you aero1. When I was reading his post, I was like, "I know I'm not stupid." I've had the Touch, Touch Pro, and the Evo, and neither of them had this problem. As far as a fix is concerned, when I first got the phone, I called Samsung about it, and they told me they were working on it, and that they would have an update out for it. But, you know Samsung. The 3-way calling isn't the only issue here. Switching back and forth between calls is hard, if you try to three way someone in, and they don't answer, you have to hang up or just have the entire conversation on their voicemail. If a second person calls you while you're on the line with someone, there is no longer a swap button. I'm saying all this just in case there are others out there like the guy who says this has always been a problem. It's not just a three way calling problem, it's the dial pad.
I have seen this too on.gy epic and my friend with evo says the same
Basically when you are on a call and you get another call you can't answer that without losing the current call...the hold option doesn't work either...I think its a sprint issue...3 way calling is impossible.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
???
But that isn't a problem on the Epic, and I don't think it's a problem on the Evo either. You CAN answer a call without losing the current call on the Epic. I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about. The issue is, should you get another call, after that, you don't lose it, you just can't click back over. I have an Evo, and I can assure you that it is not a problem on MY Evo.
Skype Can Do It!
I found a workable/laughable solution to this 3-way calling problem. For $2.99 a month, you can get unlimited calls with Skype, over a wifi, or 4G connection. Sad, I know, but so far, it's worked just fine for me, and has been fairly flawless. I put my number in to show up in the Skype caller ID, so that when I do make calls from skype, they see my number pop up.
lately i have been getting just voicemails, meaning the call doesnt go through at all, no missed calls, no nothin, just a voicemail notification. i know sprint isnt the same anymore, used to be way better but could this be because of the refurbished phone i got from sprint? i made a case like 4-5 days ago and yesterday they called me to confirm that "engineers had come and checked on the tower and fixed the problem". i live in south texas, what can i do either to fix the issue or test if its the service or the phone?

simple man flash to stock and run your test... Make calls, send texts, call yourself you know all the basic stuff you would do on your phone and check it out

It's important for you to specify carrier and which version of the phone you have. I presume from your other posts you have a Verizon GNex. The first respondent to your thread is in Manchester so I presume they have the same as I do - the GSM/HSPA version. I have never had issues with call waiting and I am thinking this is probably an issue with only the CDMA/Verizon variant.
there's an issue with call waiting? why didn't anyone tell me
maybe its an issue with your provider.
Well...I'm a Toro and have no issues.
Never did.
But do you mean the bug where you suddenly go mute to the other party?
I heard from most people that that was fixed for them on 4.1.1 ROMs.
Ok. So if I am on a call and I answer the phone to pick up call 2 everything is sort of fine but I cannot tell who I am on the phone with. It just say on a call. There is no where I can switch to the other call, call #1. No swap button, or anything. Then when I hang up with call #2 it seems to have hung up on call #1. But if u wait about 10 seconds the phone rings and call #1 is there... I cannot just simply hang up and call #1 is there. I am not the only person with the issue, as I have seen it frequently on the Web being reported.
I am on a Verizon LTE version of the phone. My fiance has the same phone, same issue.

Definitely doesn't happen on the HSPA version. Tried it last night.
I seem to remember a thread where someone was complaining about difficulty controlling multiple calls on the CDMA iPhone, and their screens looked significantly different from the GSM/HSPA iPhone. Are there certain limitations to CDMA networks?
I know the issue has been around since ICS. I have always experienced it, root and unrooted... Here are some other threads of people complaining, as I have researched this quite a bit. I would be willing to try out another for Verizion CDMA if I knew it would fix the issue. I am currently running "Vicious-Toro V1-JellyBean 4.1.1 "
Anyway here is another thread I have found with people complaining about this:

I've recently been having issues when calling certain numbers that my phone either starts ringing a few times then I get a busy signal or sometimes just a busy signl right away.
I know I'm not blocked from these numbers because one of the numbers is my gf and the other one of my close friends.
Now both my gf and friend have Sprint as well as myself. However, I can use my gf's phone to calll my number and she doesn't get a busy signal. And, if I call her phone from say a Verizon phone it rings normally.
This started happening very recently right before I upgraded to JB. I'm stock rooted.
Any ideas? I am thinking of calling Sprint to see if something is going on on there end.

Have you made any progress on this?
I have an EVO 4G LTE,, my wife has an EVO 3D - both stock and unrooted.
I can call anybody but her - I get a busy signal. -= maybe for the last 4 days, (Hurricane Sandy related?)
Anyone else can call her without a problem
I can call anyone else without a problem.
I can text her just fine.
On her phone, I blocked my number from calling her - when I did that, I went straight to her voicemail. When I unblocked it, back to the busy signal.
I deleted my contact from her phone and Google account - no change
I spent 20 min on phone with Sprint Tech support- we restarted both phones, reset voice services on both phones, pulled her battery - none of this did anything.
The rep told me to either hard reset her phone, or to go to a store with both phones.
So, I hard reset her phone. I logged into her google account and did nothing else.
I called her from my home phone - call went through. I called her from my EVO - call went through!!!
So, feeling cocky, I saved my number to her phone as a new contact. I called her again - BUSY SIGNAL.
I deleted myself from her contacts again - no change
I have hard reset her phone twice more tonight - both times I just got the busy signal.
Anybody else have any thoughts?

Im having the same issues when I call my wife's phone. I have Google Voice. Is that the problem?
Yes, had the exact same issue on my sgs2. Thought it was sprint, but after disabling Google voice the issue was resolved. I added it back about a month later with no issues.

Had this problem as well. Originally had evolte, sprint kept telling me it was network related. After two weeks I finally went to a corporate store and they ported my number to a different phone and called the numbers that where getting busy signals, and it worked. So they said it was my phone not the network. Sprint wanted to give me another evo, this would be my fourth evo, I decli ed and said I wanted a different phone, after much arguing sprint agreed to let me switch to the gs3. Came back two days later to pick up phone, after activating the phone I called the same numbers and STILL COULD NOT CALL THEM. Wtf. So they blamed google voice and said to try deleting it, if that did not work then call cust. Service. Deleting google voice did not work. So I called cust. Service they said after explaning what was going on cust.u Service said this was a known issue and did not know what was causing it and had no estimate when it would be fixed. She asked for the numbers that I got busy signals on and then offered a fourty dollar credit a month for four months. Wierd. Today I could call one of the numbers and it went thru. Havent checked the rest yet.

It is not google voice. Sprints network is the problem. They are aware of this. If you have problems call them and give them the numbers you cant call. My problem seemed to be fixed on sunday.

Sorry for the delayed response. I didn't see much going on with this thread for a while so I thought I was just having a isolated issue.
Turns out the issue is a common Google Voice issue atleast if you have integrated your Sprint and Google Voice number into one.
I got rid of my Google Voice integration and am now back to the "lite" version where you have your regular Sprint number and a separate Google Voice number and the problem has totally stopped.
The reason I say it's a common issue is because people are posting about this in the official Google Voice support forums.
I wish I would have checked there first because it would have saved me a lot aggravation.
Anyway, try un-integrating Google Voice and see if that helps.

Using Google light and separating the numbers did not work for me I even uninstalled Google Voice completely and it did not work it may be true that Google Voice is having issues as well but the current issue is a network issue at least it was for me as a previous poster said mine started working on Sunday at least I got a Samsung Galaxy 3 and a 40 dollar credit a month for 4 months out of the deal

Calls come right away. No problem with those. Sometimes text will take a while to go through. Other than that, it is all peachy.
I 9m also having this issue in Plano, and would like to know a fix, because it is really annoying.
If any of you are using an airave or whatever they are calling it now, there are issues with text messages.
My sister, brother and friend are getting messages late and missing calls . I'll get like 5 messages all at once .

For the past 3 weeks I have had intermittent issues with incoming calls and texts. Outgoing calls and text are fine and all data is fine.
Originally thought it was an evo lte issue so I went to my gs3. Didn't resolve it. Both stock rom non root.
Happens in different areas. Near downtown Dallas where I live and in North East Dallas where I work.
Also thought it was a prl issue so I reverted to a previous one on each phone. No help with that particular issue but I did notice better data speeds. (yes I know prl don't affect data speeds)
I have called care a few times and they do see a few days with higher then normal failed calls. Made some account settings changes but it's still an issue.
Happened as recent as this morning.
Did a few reboots and since lunch all has been well.

I'm in Michigan and I had a period of about 5 weeks where text's and voicemails wouldn't get pushed to my phone until hours later. I do use an Airave 2.5 but it persisted outside of it's coverage. I will say that flashing to stock and updating my profile seems to have fixed it. Either that or perfect timing of Sprint's network and a placebo effect. Good luck with your delay's. I would for sure nag Sprint about it if you don't see any improvements soon.

I'm east of the metroplex and have been having these issues. I am not using google voice and on FreeGS3. Any thoughts? This is beyond frustrating. My calls go directly for voicemail and get texts hours after originally sent.
The only way i was able to get my problem resolved was to go to T-Mobile.
I spoke with Sprint network engineering in Oklahoma several times and they were telling me it was a capacity issue causing the calls not to go thru.. However i dont buy that.
On several occasions the problem would initiate in one location the i would drive from Dallas to Garland, or NE dallas to NW dallas and the calls still didnt go thru. IF it was capacity then as soon as the device went to a tower that was able to handle the calls i should have gotten the voice mails and texts AND incoming calls would once again go thru.. but that never happened. They have a bigger problem on their hands and they have yet to realize it or, like me, not enough people realize it. I dont make a lot of voice calls. Mainly data and text.. Looking back now i do remember some instance of texts coming in bunched together.
the issue is related to the network vision\ lte upgrades. Been dealing with everyday for a couple of months with people from different areas

Do you have your Sprint number integrated with Google Voice? When I had my number integrated with GV, I had issues with getting missed calls. I would see the missed calls in GV but my phone wouldn't even ring.
Yep I have been having this issue for quite a while now, I am in Arlington most of the time and if it were not for Google Voice on my computer I wouldnt even know that I had missed calls or texts. No notifications for voicemails, calls nothing. Then other times it works fine.
I was told by a sprint tech that this was normal right now and part of the NV/LTE upgrades and that "you wouldnt be driving a car while the mechanic was working on it without problems, same principle" So yeah joke is on us for being customers I guess.

I CAN 100% tell you that this issues has nothing to do with Google Voice....it is related to the network vision \ lte upgrades.....the biggest issues that that thier is a handoff issues when going from 3g to 4g in some areas.
