System sound when having headphones plugged in. - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I noticed that when you have your headphones plugged in, some system and notification sounds still come from the speaker. Is there any way to change this except muting the phone or outting it on vibrate?

Not that I could find, Never noticed this on previous phones. I use a wired headset on my motorcycle and control the phone music or radio volume with the headset button. I can hear the time by clicking 4X and adjust volumes etc. but the phone still rings on the device when I get a call. Makes no sense. Headphone should mute the phone speaker period. If I mute the device I cannot hear the TTS Time announcements but can hear who is calling......

+1 to this

Neak kernel has an option to fix this in advanced audio settings.

Disabling notification sounds

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone has a solution for disabling notification sounds while listening to music in my car via AUX cord. I have one that adapts through a cassette and while I'm listening, evening when my phone is set to silent, my notifications still ring at top volume which is very annoying. I know with CM7 they had a fix for this.

Really? When my phone is on vibrate or silent, the notifications don't make sound when listening to music.

[Q] CM9 Nightly - Change ringer profile when (un)plug headphones?

I've been running the CM9 nightlies on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus for a while and have been loving it, but I've noticed that when I plug in headphones or unplug headphones my ringer profile will change occasionally. I set my ringer using profiles with Locale, so I really don't like my phone suddenly changing from vibrate to full volume ringer while at work. Is this a bug or a feature of CM9? If it is a feature, is there a way I can turn it off? Has anyone else run into this? Any guidance would be appreciated.

CM9 seams to have separate volume settings for headset in / out. Any changes you make to any volume settings while the headset is plugged in will revert to what the settings were before plug in when the headset is unplugged.
There is also a setting for safe headset volume that reduces the volumes to a safe level when your headset is plugged in.

Right, but it is changing the phone ringer volume when I (un)plug my headphones. I don't know why if the last time I had my headphones plugged in my phone was on vibrate, the next time I plugged my headphones in I'd necessarily want it to be on vibrate again. I suppose you've answered my question, I just don't particularly like the implementation of the feature... :-/

Personally I think the feature sucks, I've just learned to live with it. It wouldn't be so bad if you could disable it with a setting.

I'm getting this in CM9.1 (on SGS2, but this is the only thread I can find on it).
Is there any way to disable this? It's making my location aware profiles pointless!

Earphone's Buttons

So as you guys all know, the earphones that came with the phone have a button and a volume + and -. So when I plug in my earphones to the phone (phone is in silent/vibrate mode), and I push the button on the earphones, it starts playing audio out of my music player. However once I do that, my phone's sound settings gets flipped to unmute audio on no vibrate. Is there a way to make it just play media and still remain in vibrate/silent? It's annoying because even though media plays through the earphones, when a call comes through it plays out of my phone's back speakers.

Settings>sound>volume adjust ringtone and notification to silent and leave media the way it is should be good to go

Doesn't seem to work for me as I am using PowerAmp. The button will automatically initiate playback. I tried adjusting poweramp settings as well, but it's weird how it would just swap up Sound On/No Vibrate and this leads to phone call ring to be played from speakers even though my earphones are plugged in.

If you are using poweramp and still having this problem, I have found a solution. Go into power amp settings for the headset and uncheck the beep option.

This should fix it. I contacted them via Twitter and they're working on a fix. This only seems to happen on JB

[Q] Notifications through headphones only

Hey guys,
The toggle for this feature might be so obvious and that's why I'm missing it...but I can't figure out how to turn off the notification sounds from coming through the phone speaker when wearing headphones. Very annoying.
When you put your phone on vibrate, tones come through the headset but not the speaker. At least on mine it works that way.

I haven't noticed if that works, gonna try it out tomorrow. Just doesn't make sense to me that if I have headphones plugged in, sound still comes from external Speaker. I shouldn't have to turn the speaker off, or at least try to find a way to.

How to turn off notification sounds while on bluetooth?

My old GS2 had an option to disable notification sounds while on bluetooth connections. It's irritating when listening to my music while using a bluetooth connection especially on my car head unit at about 25 on my volume scale and all of a sudden, bloink, not kool.
Any input will be appreciated.

You could always open the expanded volume panel and turn notifications down to mute, thus letting you jam away without being interrupted. Is that what you were looking for? I feel that was too easy

Way to easy, lol, there where options to have the sounds not activated but not muted. I may have been a rom feature, just can't remember. Lowering the volume down doesn't cut it, you still have a sound pause when the sound event happens.
