hello, that´s my concern :S, i want to do it but i need to know what´s the best way to get it done, i hope someone can tell me, i already installed CM10 with jelly bean 4.1.2
First install kernel zip from recovery. (If using team win recovery there is no need to darkside wipe.) I use flapjaxx kernel and its great. Can be found in development section.
Get "system tuner" from play store.(free).
I clock mine at 1.67ghz. Good performance and battery life.
If you got CM10 installed this will be easy for you.

Well, I didn't do it with Team Win Recovery so i guess that i had to use darkside wipe after installing the kernel. The thing is that it kind of bricked my phone :S, any ideas?
If its bootlooping at boot animation, you need to dark side cache wipe after installing. If you don't have the cache wipe already you may have to restore from your nAndroid backup(assuming you did that before kernel install), then get darksidecachewipe.boot to recovery and install kernel, then cache wipe. Should boot after that. May take longer to boot the first time.
I went through the same thing the first time. But I could not even install cm10 without DS cache wiping, which makes me wonder how u got cm10 running without Dscachewipe. Did you follow install instructions on page 1 of flapjaxx kernel thread?

Alright, now it's working , I just did what you said. I set it on 1.67 GHZ with System tuner App. could you recommend any other Tweaks?
Play around with your clock speed. Go a little higher if you want. Personally I like 1.67ghz because its a good compromise between battery and performance.
Antutu benchmark @ 1.67ghz=7806
And @ 1.83ghz= 8050
So there is a performance increase, but for daily driving I think it unnecessary.
I flashed GPU script also from flapjaxx, but I don't see much gain because I don't need all that much graphics performance.
I'm also running the v6 supercharger script @ 25% super charge. Search for it on xda. Huge gain in performance with this script.
You can also try "pimp my ROM" for various tweaks but I didn't much care for it.
How's your GPS running?
Only problem I'm still having.
Good luck. Pm me if ya want.

hehehe thanks!, now i have a small issue... now the capacitive buttons delays on turning on when i overclock it :S, why´s that?
Try playing with the options in "settings-advanced- sensors". I keep BLN off. I think it does not let the phone deep sleep as often. Which consumes more battery.
Sounds like us got it all figured out. Don't forget to backup in recovery. Saved me many times.

Okay, so i just installed JUgg rom for the first time on my phone.. hoping that it will increase my battery life and everything. But it seems the same to me ..The battery is still dying quick as usual. I got my auto brightness/4g on most of the time and also is there anyway to get back the swype keyboard because the keyboard that comes with this ROM is crappy. I tried the swype beta and it doesn't seem to let me install. It says "problem parsing the package"
So like ... what can i do? I uninstalled all the progarms i don't need off Tita Backup.
Plus the bloater doesn't seem to turn on for me .. It lists my T-Mobile SGS2 and everything .. but when i click on it.. nothing pops up and says XML ERROR or something.

Not to knock Juggs, its a great rom for gaming and whatnot but I find I get tons more battery life out of TDJ's Digital Warfare 2.7 and SetCPU - I run my CPU with a screen off profile to run bare minimum when not in use.. Insane battery life..
You should give it a try.
I'm a pretty heavy user and get about 19 hours on a bad day until I hit 10% on good day it'll go 24 hours + Running beast mod 4.2 and set cpu under clocked 756 max 384 min governor on lagfree and using juice defender. Runs super smooth too.

Synergy Kernel? How do you run jug with a kernel ? Instructions please
If I'm not mistaken, Juggs is more about power. I could get 15 hours+ out of it on a normal use day but if I played games quite a bit or stayed on wifi for long periods it would go under 10 hours on a full charge. I'd say, if it's battery you're looking for, Juggs isn't for you. It's a great ROM but again, it's more about making your phone powerful and less about conserving the batt.
Go to the android development section and look for a thread that says synergy kernel. You are going to download it and just how you installed jug through cwm you'll do the same with the kernel. Before hand wipe cache and dalvik cache which you find under advanced. Then flash the kernel. Then wipe both caches again and reboot.

ive been running ICS since i got my phone, the battery life was horrible until i fixed the power profile, but even after that my phone's battery was not that good. i decided to flash CM10, then i switched to AOKP, both of them are awesome, but i noticed that the battery wasnt that good either, i got the ktonnsez kernel. i tried other governors, they all stay at maximum (1512MHz) after about 5 minutes of a reboot. i tried basically everything, reflash every thing, wiped everything possible. I need help plz, i wanna enjoy my S3 without worrying about the battery dying.
its all normal when i start my phone, but after 5 minutes it just stays at maximum CPU...idk why plz help im on galaxy s3 ATT i747M...i searched everywhere but still didnt find the answer
If you flashed kt747 you need to use the ktweaker app that comes with the kernel. When you find this app you need to check the two boxes into general settings

Try a different governor. Personally I use on demand and noop for the scheduler.
Make sure you don't have any other overclocking programs which may be conflicting. I used to use SetCPU but with the toonz kernel I get Ktweaker. So I got rid of SetCPU.
Funny yours is locking at maximum. Mine used to lock at 96Mhz and run like crap. The above method worked for me. Don't forget to make sure your running the most updated kernel, wipe cache/dalvik/fix permissions.

Tyvm, i did what u told me and its working for now, i was using ktweaker the whole time, but i like to check my current speed in ROM control, idk why maybe cuz the numbers are bigger? ;P im still not sure if its going to work for a long time, i did a reflash yesterday, i charged my phone at 100 percent last night, and it was sitting on low frequency, when i woke up, i was suprised to see a 6% drop of the battery, leaving me 94% left. but the speed was at 1512. and cell standby was using most of the battery.

TY, ive tried switching governors before and it didnt work. But when i tried this morning, it worked... really strange.
Idk if it will last long, my phone likes to jump around from normal to maximum without me even touching the phone
Use ktweaker instead of the rom settings. Go to the performance section in settings and disable set on boot. Then, go to ktweaker and set as "apply settings immediately after boot". Once you're done, set to whatever you want it to be.

Come here for all your needs. Got a prob with apps or anything. Bring it here and let's try to solve it together.
Gonna try to fix this soon I promise guys. First time doing any of this. This is not a new ROM by no means. This is just a place to get answers to questions. Its basically the q/a thread for unofficial. Any help is welcomed and all opinions are respected. Do remember that this is not my work. I don't have a clue how to even do any coding.
That said, the purpose to make this thread is to lighten the load from official and unofficial slim bean. I will check with android88 and tmo and see if they wanna pull a big think tank and combine all the slim threads into one. "Only for resolution of any issues". That should go bold letters. Also guys remember that not all devices are the same. Same model but if you guys recall when jb first came out everyone was having diff issues.
I need to add the usual disclaimer, I don't discourage anyone from using this or any of the shared work in here: do remember the following;
: Do this at your own risk.
:We are not held responsible for any damages you do to your device.
:Take the time to read thru the thread, might save time solving an issue already addressed.
:This all has been tested and retested by your truly. But just cuz it works for me doesn't mean it will for you. That said enjoy and again, if you have any ((( any )))) probs post them here and let dev be just for that. We know now that chevy will check in once in a while here so we are like Allstate in good hand. Happy flashings

If I'm not mistaken you can dirty flash over a previous slim bean build. If your coming from a different ROM you need to wipe and all. They said flash this ROM, gapps, led toggle fix, then dirty flash ROM then you can add mods and new kernel as you wish.
I try not to dirty flash I would think eventually it will cause problems. Like going to the Dr getting one pill to fix what another causes I prefer clean Install. As for flashing one on top of a totally different ROM I have no idea what will happen I'm sure not good.

First ur going to need a kernel that supports undervolting, which means u need to flash Tiberius or go flash a custom ROM that allows it, then DL system tuner from play store and go to tweaks, find voltage control and undervolt till u feel comfy or it starts working better, don't go to low though cuz it'll cause bsods or rrs

Are you using ART? Dead trigger 2, and asphalt 8 used to crash on me, usually when loading levels (no app not responding message it would just throw me back to the home screen) when I was on 4.4 krt16s with ART enabled. Right now I'm on 4.4 krtl6s with the elementalX kernel(2.2) @1.7 CPU and 450 GPU, I'm also using the optimized dalvik and bionic patches, I use the xposed framework, running dalvik, and like 20 different modules, and I haven't had any stability problems, and my game's run silky smooth.
No, I'm running dalvik. I have xposed framework also. Heard adaway gave some apps problems, but I don't have it enabled. Not sure if it's clean ROM or what..

Have you tried clocking down to stock (CPU and GPU (if applicable)) and running it for a bit and see if it stabilizes?
I'll try clocking down see what happens.
Edit: Clocking GPU down to stock improved it a little, at least I got into game, but it crashed shortly after. Maybe I'll try cpu.
I also have it thermal throtle cool and vsync (I believe it is) on. I'll put everything stock and see what happens.

Idk if you got it working yet but I was actually browsing around the clean ROM page, and they have optimized Qualcomm dalvik libraries, and the thread that I got my optimized dalvik and bionic libraries (the motox one's I believe), said that it may cause issues with some ROMs, so my guess is that there not playing nice. Also oc'd my gpu to 485 and my CPU to 1.8, didn't get any instability.
Also, tried out gears and guts, cus you put it in between mc4 and asphalt 8, It's good stuff. :victory:
Good luck

Try backing them up with Titanium Backup, then remove the troublesome apps and restore with Titanium Backup. This fixes many app crashing problems.
Sent from my Nexus 7 Flo running Odex SinLess ROM 4.4.2 with ElementalX kernel using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Did that, still crash, but I can play the game a little longer.
Should I just do a clean flash of cleanrom? I hate to wipe my device again though...

Wiped the device clean, but what did you flash afterward. I suspect it's a kernel problem.
I clean flashed cleanrom and elementalx kernel. I found some revert zips for the Qualcomm optimized dalvik and bionic, flashed, and games seem to be working now.
Guess cleanrom doesn't like the optimized files. Shame because it made a bit of a performance difference in lag (or at least the benchmark improved.) Maybe I'll try flashing it again and see if it works..

At least it was working... Crashing again. Kinda annoying because I like to play games. Any suggestions?

Try rewiping, flash stock rom, stock everything, if games still crash, and still under warranty, unroot, relock bootloader and send it in.

Rewiped, back to stock ROM and kernel. No optimized dalvik or bionic. Games are running good now.
Would I be safe just to flash the optimized dalvik and bionic, and ElementalX on stock ROM? No problems would occur? Because I like the speediness they gave.

I would bet it's safe, but I would do one at a time and test it for a few days then do the next one, etc...same with any settings with the kernel, make one adjustment in small increments at a time, then test for a few days, etc.
At least you know it's not hardware!

I'll try the kernel first and work it out from there. Thanks!
