[Q] Stuck on airplane mode.... - HTC One X

Hi there,
I flashed ARHD 15 just now but unfortunately my phone is stuck on Airplane Mode.
I searched for a solution but none of them fixed it.
Do you have a way to fix it?
EDIT: Flashed boot.img again and that solved the problem.

Did you flash the correct boot.img ? Reflash boot.img, wipe cache + dalvik cache.

i have tried these steps i flashed the boot.img from my custom rom (OrDroid), i went from the bootloader to the recovery, wiped dalvik and cache, rebooted system, and the only difference is that this time i saw this screen with all of my apps optimizing, the device opens, i go to settings, i have the same exact picture, Airplane mode turning off, wifi has "error" written underneath, mobile network also doesnt work neither does bluetooth! i dont know if this has to do with anything, but this was my first attempt at installing jelly bean, which means i cant go back to stock (i suppose), so im stuck without the ability to call people or simply do anything other than play teeter on this phone! so is there a solution for this?

Did ypu do full wipe before flashing?

You might try an hboot newer than 1.28, the released one is 1.36.

but this thread does not contain my CID (HTC__J15) does that mean i am stuck with no phone until someone decides to make a firmware for my CID ?
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

The thread I posted has instructions in the first post. You'll want to make a backup because ou have to lock the device, unlocking it again will wipe the phone.
HTC__J15 was removed from the '401 packages, but I think there is a newer one 1.31 somewhere, have you searched the thread for your CID? Lots of people have discussed it.

yeah and all i could find that was useful was this link http://d-h.st/users/ClydeB1/?fld_id=8110#files but you are saying the j15 was removed from the 401 packages, also the only instruction i could find in the first post was this and it doesnt mention locking the device:
"Flash firmware.zip using following terminal commands:
Please rename first downloaded .zip package to firmware.zip
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip"
______________________________________________________
Update: ok i flashed it through fastboot, and now my hboot has been upgraded to 1.31, after that i unlocked it, flashed boot.img, and a custom recovery, then i went to recovery, and reinstalled the custom rom.zip , sadly however problem was not resolved

Yeah, sorry, 1.31 appears to be the latest for your CID.
I'm sure you have to relock the phone to install it. Try it (don't forget backup!), worst case it will fail.

Try to install properly bot.img for that Rom which you attend to use. I have same problem when upgrade from 15 to 18 version.Boot.img from 15 not work on 18, so I must upgrede boot.img too...

i think im going to try the maximus rom because it can accept any 1.3X Hboot, since my hboot is 1.31 maybe this will work with it, i will try and post the result!

I just installed the .11 OTA on an unlocked,rooted One x

I have what I believe is an International, European device. I bought it from someone who bought it in Italy. The serial begins with HT23, the software version has 401 in it, and the CID (according to CID getter) is HTC__203.
before I unlocked the bootloader through htcdev, I updated all the OTA, up to 1.29.401.7. But as you know, once I unlocked, installed CWM recovery and rooted the device, I was not able to install the new OTA (1.29.401.11). When I tried to install the zip manually, I got an error message saying, basically, that the CID is not right. It's my understanding that one you unlock the bootloader, the CID Changed to "None", although some commands WILL get you a valid CID.
For the last couple of days I lurked around the forums to see if anyone was able to come up with an idea, for installing the .11 OTA on a unlocked device.
Since I have no experience in editing the zip files I was scared ****less, but eventually I looked into the zip and found the file "updater-script" that appears to contain the condition regarding the CID.
So I remarked line 7-16 in the file, put it back into the zip, renamed it to update.zip and - presto!
The flash went on successfully!
This is my device before the installation:
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
and that's after:
Although the gui says that the baseband was updated, in the bootloader, the version is still the old one (1.1204.104.14).
The HBOOT too is still 0.94, not 0.95.
That's it
I've done the same thing two days ago BUT by device became dirt slow, started doing funny things and in the end I rolled it back. Using this method you cannot update the radio or hboot (that's the good part!).
You CAN flash the firmware.zip (for radio etc) via fastboot but you will need to flash the original recovery and then re-lock. Then, when you unlock again, it will reset the phone so you might as well use the RUU to begin with but if you don't want either then this method should work fine. I don't know how dependent the ROM is on the updated radio and I have had issues in the past where the two did not match.
I have since upgraded via the RUU.....and it's still doing funny things.
What kind of "funny" behavior do you get?
In the mean time, I thought that I'll do a nandroid backup, Install RUU so the radio and HBOOT will be installed, and restore the nandroid to have all my applications back.
That worked only halfways
I started the RUU with the phone in normal mode (not fastboot, no re-lock or stock recovery, no cache clear) and after a while the RUU failed. I rebooted the phone, and it still worked (phew...) and now in the bootloader, the radio is updated to 1.204.105.14 too. HBOOT is still 0.94 though.
I explain this steps in my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1632662
Post here your zip
I can't upload a 14 mb file here, nor can I post external links yet.
so here is the link to dropbox, but not clickable.
dl.dropbox.com/u/52657948/onex/update.zip
bear in mind that I also remarked the part that checks the MID.
btw. In the mean time I went full RUU and reinstalled all the applications manually.
Isn't it easier to flash stock recovery, update via OTA then reflash CWM and reroot? It's safer and quicker IMO ;O
Insertcoin has the 1.29.11 inside, if your phone is rooted it's better to flash his rom then

Well, I was under the impression that it's not possible.
I didn't even try.
I'll take a shot at it on the next OTA.

It is possible, I updated from 1.26 to 1.28 this way The only thing OTA needs to be processed is actually stock recovery. But during update it does remove root, so you need to reroot (and to do that you need to reflash CWM of course )
But did the radio and HBOOT got updated? what does it say in the bootloader?
Of course it does update hboot and radio - it's a regular OTA.
Edit: just checked it in bootloader - hboot is 0.95 and radio is 105.14, so it's up-to-date

You also could of removed the .img files from the ruu and fastboot flash them.
Hi, @ op.
Sorry to hijack this thread but didn't want to start a new one and you might know the answer?
I have an unbranded UK HOX running EnergyRom.
If I reflash my nandroid backup, flash stock recovery and relock bootloader I can then flash the latest 1.29.401.11 RUU.
If I then re-unlock, re-flash CWM, and finally my Energyrom backup will I undo all the changes made by the update except for the new Hboot and radio?
Should I wait for the update the EnergyRom and not bother with the RUU?
Just that I am eager to try the flicker fix.
TIA

It would freeze for periods of time, and become unresponsive. I reset the whole thing again and this time did NOT restore go launcher with titanium backup and it is MUCH better now.
The RUU needs a locked phone with the original recovery.
A nandroid backs up the entire system and apps iirc. I usually just use the backup from recovery these days.

First you need to be ABLE to get the OTA over the air. Not that easy and HTC don't seem to offer an easy method to download and flash the OTA...... Pretty poor if you ask me.
The phone also needs to be locked. I'm sure I read that it failed for some guys while it was unlocked and i think I tried this myself and found that I had to relock. When you then unlock again the phone is factory reset anyway.

@up
I didn't relock my bootloader (unlocked on 1.26) so how can you explain I got both 1.28 and 1.29 via OTA with no problems? A miracle? Just flashed stock recovery and then used OTA via WiFi.

That's good to know. Of course having a UK handset is would need to wait for the official OTA for weeks ;-), I'm still pretty sure the fastboot method needed the relock.

Installing Any Custom Roms On Your HOX With Any Hboot Version Without Updating Hboot.

Hi There.. Now i m going to show you how to install any custom rom on your HOX without updating your device bootloader or Hboot version.
Simply download any custom rom of your choice & extract boot.img from its Zip file, put this boot.img in attached folder and then run the (FLASHBOOT.bat) then enter fastboot on your device holding Volume Down+Power. Follow the instructions after installing boot img. Go to recovery wipe all user data & install zip from SD card & enjoy...Remember 1st make nandroid backup of your RUU before doing this..
Also Remember that it will never update your Hboot so you don't need to worry about this Its 100% gurantee..Enjoy::fingers-crossed:
My Device : Htc One X
Rom: Android Revolution HD 18X
Hboot: 1.12
How is this different than the normal way we flash roms?
I don't think that this way can flash jb roms without updating hboot
I see that u wrote that u have arhd 18 with hboot 1.12 but this can't be done because there is nothing special in ur way
It's exactly the same way as any one flash new roms and I read the script and all it can do is flash the boot.img by fastboot flash boot boot.img command which all is using it to flash boot
So where is the special thing that allows us to run jb on older hboots ???????????

LOL CM10 runs originally only on the ICS boots , but with a modified boot.img which can be found in the cm10 thread you can boot it also on the JB hboots ! You clearly haven't done your homework mate ! I have this hboot for weeks already in my dropbox
All the sense based JB roms will ONLY work on JB hboots. The aosp/aokp roms is a whole different story

Yeah but what is the news on this, i know for almost a year that we have to flash a boot.img manually, because we have s-on devices. And tools to flash a boot.img, recovery.img, unlock codes are also out for months already......and the statement that you can do this with any JB rom is also false, try a jB rom with this on a ics hboot and it will def end up bootlooping. And running arhd 18 JB on your ics 1.12 hboot is just a plain lie ! That can't be done.....
My guess it's time to close this thread because you bring absolutely nothing new to the plate !
Thread closed
This thread is closed, because it's.
a) only providing trivial info (for the roms it even works on, that is)
b) has downright WRONG information in it (Sense-Roms are HBoot-sensitive, so you might create a bootloop when using your method)
So, OP, please, next time before you open a thread
1.) Check for which Roms your information is true
2.) Don't create a thread to tell people that it's dark at night

[Q] HTC One remote 12 signature verify fail

Hello, I am attempting to return my HTC One to Stock and I used the revone tool but it didn't put it back to locked status. Right now im in Tampered Relocked with S-On
I have the correct RUU for my version 1.10.605.10 but when I do a fastboot oem rebootRUU of that file it gives me the remote signature error.
Ideas on this??
Thanks much!

I'm facing a very similar issue. I have a Verizon HTC One, Bootloader is LOCKED, and S-On. Tried using the correct ruu, but from what I've read, I can't flash that decrypted ruu without s-off. Do I have a pretty paperweight now? I've tried everything I can think of.
A side note, I do not have a custom recovery or OS installed, no adb, but I can use fastboot. Thank you!

Two things about ruu.
You can only use encrypted version if s-on.
You cannot downgrade if s-on.
I suggest anyone wishing to go back to stock switch their s flag to on as the very last step.
I have a copy of the encrypted .10 ruu if you are currently on that firmware.
What does your boot loader screen say?

Yeah I actually found an encrypted or signed .10 online and flashed it using fastboot. I had a Locked bootloader and S-on, so this really came at a good time. There was no OS on the phone and I only had access to fastboot. Thankfully I fixed it with this RUU.
If anyone needs the 2.10.605.1 ruu, here's exactly where I got it from (just fix the URL, I'm obviously a new user and can't post links):
flyhalf205. [com]/RUU/.direct_link_only/RUU_M7_WL_JB43_SENSE50_VZW_MR_VERIZON_WWE_2.10.605.1_Radio_1.12.41.1112_2_NV_VZW_3.71_002_release_341019_signed_2.zip
Downloaded that and flashed it via Terminal on OS X. Worked PERFECT. I'm so glad these forums are here as they helped me find this solution. Thanks!

@vsemoney
You need an encrypted ruu that is newer than what you have. Unfortunately, the newest is the only one I have. You cannot flash it via fastboot anymore either as attempting to will give you the same signature error. You must use the exe I have posted here. I repeat, you cannot flash this zip using any other method.

I'm thing you need Flash FW sense, TWRP recovery
boot in TWRP recovery/wipe/format - type yes and flash rom zip or restore nandroid backup
Use this thread and follow ALL instructions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733523
I did get back to stock. BUT I'm on 4.16.401.13. Everything works fine on that one. Changed my cid to HTC__E11, normal Dutch cid.
My original cid is VODAPE17. For some reason I can't get 4.19.161.3 work. Wi-Fi don't work on that one. I tried an older nandroid and flashed the firmware. The older backup does work. When I do ota to the newest WiFi stops working.

Change CID to superCID (11111111) and flash stock FW 4.x
see results complete or failed, if failed you need flash again
Flash TWRP recovery, in wipe you need chose "format " (it is formats all partitions without SD card)
You can flash any rom zip

With superCID you can flash any stock Ruu (GSM)m you can flash original stock (if you have) or flash FW + restore nadroidbackup+srock recovery
For OTA update after flash Ruu, you need change original CID and relock bootloader

I flashed the firmware over and over but Wi-Fi don't work.
Now I'm trying to get back to the first nandroid I have: 1.54.141.10 and then download and install all the OTA's again. So I get back to the base.
The last thing I tried finally works. It takes more than one hour to download all the OTA's. Thanks @heobanhki for your answers

I'm on the same firmware (completely stock - not rooted)
I could make a nandroid backup for you, but my upload speed is too slow, it would take ages to upload. Unless you only need the stock boot.img or recovery.
There's also an RUU available for your device, but the version is kitkat. I am not sure if you can flash it on an s-on device. But you can give it a try

You can get the right RUU for your device from here
You need to rename it to 0PFHIMG and copy it to your sd-card. then boot into bootloader (volume down + power button) and it should ask you to install the RUU,
RUU will wipe your entire internal storage, and it includes boot, radio, recovery, and etc.
But again, I am not sure if you can flash an RUU if your device is S-ON, (which is a security measure by HTC to prevent certain modifications the device)
Still, it doesn't hurt to give it a try. You have to re-lock your bootloader though.
This is my current setup. S-On but relocked. You mean so?

Okay, you are s-on, but since you are relocked, it may work.
Try moving the ruu to sd card and rename it as I mentioned before. Give it a try and see if it works or not

Once you are rooted, your system partition is modified. The OTA always checks the MD5 sum of the system partition, and if it doesn't match with the stock value, the update will fail.
If you have a nandroid backup of the stock Rom, you can just restore and flash the stock recovery. Otherwise you have to use the RUU.
Just make sure to flash the stock recovery before relocking your boot loader.

I'm glad it all worked out! You don't need root for a nandroid backup, you just need a custom recovery.
Flash the custom recovery from fastboot using the command "fastboot flash recovery xxx.img" (the name of the file)
Then make a nandroid backup.
If you ever want to go back to stock again, just restore the nandroid backup, and then flash the stock recovery.

have you relocked your phone?
I'm s-on, unlocked bootloader
aaa ... I think I understand. must first relocked bootloader, and then flash stock?
upd. so, i relocked bootloader, insert sd card and see same text:
! image update fail !
main version is older!
update fail!
device halted due too large image update fail!
press POWER to reboot
im on lollipop 5.0.2 now
and now I can't log on. only loaded bootloader
so, i unlocked bootloader and returned back into the system. no longer have to advise, today or tomorrow will posting flashable ROM. thanks.
same problem here, did you find a solution?
