I Decided to move all my music to my ext. Sd card. I went into root explorer and just moved the whole folder over. I when I go to my storage now, it shows that the 1.24 gigs of music was sucxefully transfered to external but the 1.24 gigs still shows up as misc. On my internal sd. I went to the dcim folder and there are no remnants of any of it. I cleared my dalvik and even used sd maid pro, and still no luck. any ideas of why it's still showing up on my internal? Also my cover art doesn't show up on ayer pro anymore T. Y. I. A:beer:

There is a post in either this section or the q&a that talks about getting more space on you sd card. I'm hedging a bet it would help you. Let me see if I can come up with the link.

That should be it. Hope it works for ya.

I'm very interested in this too! My only lasting complaint with my phone is not being able to have Google Music save music to the external card. If anyone can help figure this out I'd be so happy.
I love Google and android but I hate how they keep pushing external cards away and pushing the cloud so hard.

a duplicate of the /sdcard also resides at /data/media. you can only access this folded if you are rooted and have a root enabled file system browser like es file explorer.
if you are rooted, you can safely delete the duplicate media folder from that directory as well.

Are you sure it's your music? If you click on "Miscellaneous files", it shows you exactly what it's counting and how much space it takes.
(I didn't know that until I just tried it now, so thanks!)

Is it possible to move movies purchased thru media hub to the sd card? I've got that free download of the avengers taking up over 2gb of my internal storage right now and can't find an option to do it. I'd imagine I could do it manually somehow, but how and will it affect anything with playback?
Thanks!
Yea, it's been said on the other Avengers threads
You need to change the settings to show hidden files, go your file manager under settings, and you will see that option
Next you need to find. SamsungMediahub open it, and find the " Sd" or Hd" file and move it to the extSdcard

I just went through and cleared a few gigs of crap and old backups off my internal storage, but when I check how much space is available, it doesn't reflect this. It says I only have 700mbs available still, but the bar and numbers clearly indicate I should have more than that. Here's a screen shot for a better idea of what's going on http://www.imgur.com/sIt8G.png
Has anyone else had this problem before or know how I can fix it?

Bump.. I have booted inti recovery and cleared cache in hopes of it cleaning it up, but nothing. I also searched Play for a sd card clean up app, I found sd maid, but no success there either. I'm really trying to avoid backing up everything and wiping the card..

I can't see your pic bc of my work's firewall, but you may want to take a look at this thread here from the ATT side. --->Missing storage space

Perfect. Thanks alot for that link, that thread linked to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33918194 and seems to answer my question.
I have reaently rooted my phone with Galaxy Note 2 Toolkit. All works fine except one thing - I keep loosing my MP3 files
I copied some mp3 files over to my SD card. Next day they were gone.
fter this had happen several times I decided to re-root my phone again. After the procedure I copied mp3 files over again and they were on
the card for about 2 more days. Today they're all gone.
I noticed that when I use Samsung KIES application and install some files into the music folders using Kies, after some time those files are gone as well. Installed antivirus, scanned, no virus found.
Any idea's what could cause this to happen ?
Arthur
Are they on your external sd card? If so I would guess it's going bad or you bought a cheap ebay one that's not actually the listed capacity so it overwrites your oldest files as you put more stuff on there (just a shot in the dark here, but that's what some cheap ones do)

thank you all for replies and your time!
the card is 64 Gig /made in China of course.
I don't think it is the card quality in this case. I have had SD cards in the past which were loosing data, but usually when this had happened all data was lost not just some specific file type. This is more lie an effect of a:
- some softare making updates
- virus or mallware
Like I said I have another folder on the same level called PFD whith about 100 PDF files, and this folder remains untouched, and the same happens for my picutres. I do not loos pictures on the card, the the only thing that gewts deleted is MP3

I am running cyanogen mod 10.1 and I tend to play alot of big games that requires typically >1gb and i have close to no room left in my internal storage and have like 10 gigs left on my external and I dont have a way to install them onto their. I've already tried all types of apps2sd apps and none have worked. Is their a way to put these games on my external sd?
Unfortunately no.

I just have used the first method. It does work. To make sure I redid it a few minutes ago. Works perfectly. Are you on TW, CM, or AOSP ?

I'd say to use this app: FolderMount.
Great app, frequent updates, and I've used it myself and can confirm it works. Not to mention that I believe the dev made it, among other reasons, to solve this issue with huge games.
I gonna look into this. And the changing the external to internal

I realize they don't take up space with nothing in them, but I would really like to do away with the Movies, Pictures, Playlists, and Podcasts folders that are automatically generated on the SD card.. I've tried deleting them and they just reappear when I reboot, so I'm wondering how I prevent that from happening.. TIA for any help

You cant as they are automatically generated by the system. I am sure there is a way to mod the apk's but I can't say that would be worth it.
Agreed.. It's not that big of a deal at all, I was mainly just curious
