Hi everyone. I have a slight problem.
I was installing games when I notice they were al installing on my internal storage instead of my external storage.
I the installed apps to sd to move them over. It gave me a message saying I dont have a real memory card my device.
I then installed es file explorer and it doesnt see my mem carf either.
I then started the camera and it detected my mem card.
What is happening?

My external SD card disappeared too, but it was because I had installed a ROM other than stock that did not have support for 64GB cards. But you say you are running stock Rom and Kernel?

Hi,
May I know how to change the app backup destination to External SD Card. I typed in /extSdCard/AppBackup/ and a warning popup with "Non-Existing Path". I even type just the /extSdCard/ and same error message appeared.

I have to agree, used es for a while. Tried the trial of Solid Explorer, bought the full version. Great interface. Try it.

Go in your settings and try setting the "home" folder to /storage/ from there you'll be able to access the internal and external SD cards, as well as any USB OTG drives you'd have connected. You should not need root to do this.

Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
You moved apps to your sd card probably? That's when you get those symbols
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
just wipe cache partition and reboot they should be gone or reinstall if they are missing. That happens to me alot.
Just reboot. Since you removed those bloatwares, after you exit the app you used to remove them with, your app drawer looks like that. Just reboot.
I rebooted in to cwr, flashes super cache wipe and rebooted back into ics,but the problem is still there
Edit: I kinda fixed the problem. I disabled them trough settings--application

That could be your problem. You have to uninstall, not just delete the apk's. Try uninstalling thru titanium, ROM toolbox, or the ROM. See if that makes a diffrence

I'm not sure why you'd need to but try apps2sd from the market - it's free.

That's pointless in this phone.
If you read the app description is even says, "Not supported devices: * Galaxy S3, Note 2, Galaxy Nexus, Tablets"
The only way to get apps installed in sd card is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931500
Ahh, my bad. Thanks.

You need something like Directory Bind. Kind of tricky though. Unfortunately gone are the days that google will support moving apps away from internal memory.
Hey I need because internal memory is 14 gb so when it geys full I want app which I move the data to sd card

This function is not supported, however you can change to custom roms that may support this, or just install redpill kernel and use the function in the stweaks to make your external sdcard an internal sdcard. This is the easiest method If you get any problems just post some question in the link below, i'll be making some tutorial on how to do this kind of things soon

I can't uninstall any apps when I go to settings> application manager and then hit uninstall on an app it just sits with the scrolling bar and never uninstalls. If I clear data it just says "calculating".

"Media" was killing your battery. You have something corrupted on that SD card.

I would use the phone to do it. Settings>Storage>Format SD Card
That way the phone should be able to have optimal reading/writing with the card.

Usually a different browser will work.
Or search play store for a downloader, it will strictly download the link you put in.
If it's a rom, just download on pc

Hello sir, try changing the settings in the browser to where actual files are downloaded to. If it says save to memory card change to internal, or vise versa. Hope it helps. The option is "default storage"

What rom....and what apps2sd scripts are you using if any ?
Changes you've made recently have caused this ???
Updates perhaps ???
My thoughts are leaning toward applications that point to downloads being force placed to external storage...
And the default is internal storage..
Something is likely causing a conflict in the mapping before the download starts...
If you are not opposed to testing, you should revert to a known rom setup that worked..
Or if needed...restore the device totally if the issue cannot be found...
Scripts are often hard to track down ...and I think one of them...or at least parts are present that prevent the correct mapping to occur...
Just my thought at 3 a.m.
So go easy on me....LOL...g

If you app don't allow to change the location, you can use something like Link2SD.
If the complete download folder is to be transferred, probably foldermount is more appropriate.

foldermount will patch all Samsung phones but it is no guarantee that it will work eventually, no harm to try though.
