im jualous of my mums legend update!!

hi, my mums has a legend on vodafone, and she recently got an update..
the reason i am a bit jealous is because it seems to be faster than my phone! a desire!
when she clicks on an app or something there is like a zoom animation when it opens the app, which looks really nice and smooth..
i checked me settings for animations and it says all animations shown.. but i dont get that, does anyone know how to do it?? or if it can..

for some reason you don't get those zoom transition animations with HTC Sense turned on. But if you install a different launcher (like Launcher Pro) you do get the animations.

Trust me, or not... but unless you have done something really strange, your desire is notably faster than her legend.

Not for my girlfriend whose hands are too small to use the Desire. For her the Legend is better

sense is turned on on the legend
this legend was always slower than my desire, it then got the 2.2 update, and it was still not as good, but ever since its latest update, it is imho smoother than my desire and those animated transitions look suavvvvvve!!!
i want this sense on my desire!! it is a vodafone legend, mine is a stock desire, with latest stock rom, nothing fancy done to it!

The other half has a legend and with the latest update and it seems Vodafone have really got the phone working smooth.
Of course its not as nice as the desire, but it is a vast improvement that has def closed a lot of the gap between the 2 handsets.
Just need voda to work their magic on the desire now

ye the only thing is some of the live wallpapers are slow, but i really want those transition effects....

seems u can get them for the desire, i havent rooted my phone and i dont know how to push the apk pffffff..

Anyone have a clock for AOSP that works like the sense one?

I have been looking for a clock that is like the stock sense one that has alarms and timer and stop watch all included haven't been able to find one for a AOSP rom would like to find a sense based clock that works with AOSP rom that has all the goodies with it. Only thing thats stopping me from wanting to use a AOSP rom all the time. I like the senseless roms but its a pain to find something that may work until it boot loops sucks. Anyone know of any i have checked out the clock forums on here but all they seem to be is fancy clock widgets. So can anyone point me into the right direction. Thanks I am pretty familiar with APK files..

I'm using the Weather & Toggle widget on my hero and using it asa my EVO comes in. It's almost exactly like the stock one and there's skin downloads to match it exactly. I paid for mine because it's worth the couple bux bud, seriously. I don't buy many apps, just help out the devs but this one was a no brainer for AOSP roms.

Thanks i was hoping to beable to use the sense pack htc clock on a few senseless roms FC on alot of it kinda blows i really just want stock clock with alarms and everything. Id be thrilled i hope someone comes out with a better gingerbread keyboard.

I'd use AOSP roms in a heartbeat if I could get this too. Can never find a keyboard as good as the HTC one either.

Ya i am likeing cm7 tho the keyboard sucks its a pain to use. The clocks out there are not as good sense based one. Hope someone can fix that. The roms to have dried up not to many people are making anything new. I like evo based roms not ports. If your really want a port go get the phone in my opinion. Im like konies rom elite 3 battery life isnt good on stock kernel the clock doesnt suit me trying to replace it.

Fancy widget has the clock your looking for plus a whole lot more..

Sense replacements
I am on ASOP now and have really missed a lot of Sense stuff since switching to Cyanogen 6 a few months ago.
I have used a number of stopwatch apps and don't really like any of them.
I am using TouchPal, beacuse I don't like the stock dialer, but am not crazy about TouchPal.
I am using SwiftKey as a keyboard, which I do really like a lot.

I use Beautiful Widget's: Super Clock. Its the best thing next to sense. Plus you can change up the skins faster than you do your socks!
Also I use Swift Keyboard. It looks similar to the touch input plus its crazy convenient!

Ehh, I just want the time and an alarm lol. W&T widget defaults to the stock clock, which has an alarm so that's cool. The KB is garbage though you're right. Many months ago when I was on Sense roms with my Hero I was using the AOSP-voice keyboard but now I'm on Better Keyboard 8. My EVO should be in tomorrow and I'm guessing that just the meire size of the phone should make ANY keyboard easier to use lol. The Hero landscape is just a little too small for my big fingers.

Check out HD Widgets. It's on app store for a small amount but is well worth it and it looks great. It has lots of clock widget sizes and styles, with or without weather and is highly customisable.

Anyway for us to get the GB screen off/on animation. Maybe ported to rmk's gb. Or similar. rom? I know its been asked in themes and apps but was never answered. Thanks in advance...

I have been trying all day and still not able to get the downanimation to work.
EDIT: this guy claims to have the process to make it work, although I have tried and am still not able to get my downanimation to work.

its generally just one edit in bools.xml in the framework-res (at least it is on other phones)

Yea this is really unfortunately HTC left off the Gingerbread lock screen animation. It's my favorite thing about Gingerbread besides the performance tweaks (smooth scrolling).
What they SHOULD have done under "Skins" is have a pure Gingerbread skin that includes this animation, that would have been excellent.

There doesn't seem to be any known way to enable this either

well the normal edit doesnt work
its been done on the tbolt (havent checked over dinc2 sense roms) might need sense 3.0 though...i havent really spent much time looking though

Thoughts on live wallpaper pausing on scroll?

As you already know, LWPs pause on scroll if you use the Sense launcher so I had to use Apex Launcher when showing my phone off to friends
LWPs are probably not a big deal for many people but they're one of the reasons I love Android so it sucks that I can't really use them with Sense 4. Some say it's a bug but I personally think it's the way Sense is designed to work.
If any devs are reading this, could you please shed some light on how hard it is (or if it is possible at all) to fix/mod Rosie so that LWPs don't pause like that? Thanks!

So at least HTC is aware about the problem. I have also read somethere that to pausing/freezing is due to the fact that Sense uses the same resources as the live wallpaper an therefore it freezes when switching between homescreens.

I'm not sure its totally Sense. The AT&T One X doesn't have that problem. It's weird.

Interesting,but HTC realy realy needs to do something about the RAM management,i mean,this is not multitasking present on the phone,feels like i'm using Iphone 3G with the unoficial multitasking app again...This is the first thing HTC must concentrate on.

The play store has a number of alternative browsers. With Android, you're free to choose.

Users have great hope from 4.5 , let's c what HTC do to retain it

1)Is Sense 4.5 jelly bean smooth though 4.1 is already working like charm but it can still be better :good:
2) Is the people app changed, means does the Pic looks 720p really?
3) Multitasking still not there, really annoying. I dont get why HTC cant still get this right.
Gallery looks good.

Not one of them supports multiple exchange accounts AND proper server search. I've tried them all.....
I just can't see why HTC don't bother to fix the rendering issue. All other clients render the right size but on sense email it looks like it was made for near blind people.

He's talking about email client not browser... and I'm really surprised there are no more complains about that problem which is quite annoying.

Everytime you exit an app it clears the cache files which means the app has to reload, when on web browser this is particularly annoying as say I want to leave a page up for when I'm on.break at work with no data connection, when I come back to it it reloads meaning I now can't read it. HTC have messed it up big time with me, I am going either sgs3 or lumia 920 in the next month
