Automatic CAB installation

Hi all,
To be more clearer than the title, each time Faman does a new ROM, I update my Trinity and so I have to re-install all my CABs. I have created a folder on my storage card and I install it one by one.
So the question is, can we have a soft installed on the storage card where you can choose all the cabs that you want to install ?
You could maybe choose for each cab if you want to install it on the storage card or on the phone and then launch the global installation
I was thinking on doing it with Mortscript but maybe something already exists.

there are a couple of apps that will do cab installation for you.. There's info under the backup/restore section of the trinity upgrade guide on my site. Sorry I can't be more specific, just checking in real fast on my iPhone

I have tried the tool as I have just flashed my Trinity to the the Faman's v4 full D ) and it works fine. It will retreive all your bluetooth devices, your My documents folder... It's great

I think jiggs refers to a thread in the Development and Hacking forum...
But I don't think a mortscript is good for your purpose - not because of the script he wrote is bad nor mortscript itself is bad, the thing is you actually need to install mortscript manually before you can invoke that script and thus defeating your original idea to install everything automatically....
If mortscript can be compiled into a standalone executable, that would be better

Take a look here for a detailed explanation of what this file is, and what we need to do to work with it.

This is obviously big news. Keep in mind this "ROM" is NOT flashable to any of the current devices we know of. NONE. You also can't dump this with the current tools we have at our disposal so, NO, we can not make WP7 ROMs based on this. Some great minds are already working on decrypting the format of this ROM and I'm sure information to that effect will be posted in the thread when that happens.
Until then, please refrain from asking if this is compatible with your phone (it's not!) or when it's going to be ported to "X" device. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation

This .nbh is unsigned, previous HTC NBH images were all signed. I made a new version of NBHImageTool to work with a WP7 unsigned .nbh, it will dump and rebuild.

New! 5/18 Here is a link to all the raw partition data found inside the flash.store.bin (os.nb) - Note that I do not yet fully know the FAT, so the partitions marked UnknownData are more than likely part of the partition immediately following. Once I fully understand the FAT I will update with a proper list of partitions.

can u clarify more,is this the rom wm7 or wp7? Cingular don't exist I guess, so was this for an old unreleased HTC device? Just a guess, but pls throw some more light on that

Regarding Cingular, HTC often refers to AT&T as Cingular internally, even on WM6.5 devices. So that's not toooooo strange.
The build here is 6167 so this is not an old WM7 ROM. Again, HTC may be referring to WP7 as WM7 internally, sometimes MSFT calls it that internally as well

The tools have already been created, I don't think we can get them yet. I know tom and his team have them.

Or so they say....tom says a lot of things...just because he says them doesn't mean there true...trust me i know.

From what I understand tom & co were working with JTAG, rather than the bootloader, so likely would not have had to mess with decompiling the D000FF format. But if they did work with it any help would be appreciated

Also my thoughts.
Always when it gets nice, tom's name shows up. He should share more, but lets stay ontopic.
The new HTC device is probably the diamond3 or a new line. After the HD, the next device was the Diamond2, so I think Diamond3 will have this Rom.

Cool. So what are the next steps guyz... I have no idea of cooking or porting, but just interested in knowing the process involved on a HIGH LEVEL in Layman language. Just so even ppl like us also understand what kind of time energy and dedication goes into chefs like you who are involved in getting this OS on our respective devices.
Atlease from what I have heard or saw (like in one of the Win Phone ads), the most probable of the existing devices out there for this OS is HD2. Again, I could be totally off with this, but just based on the SnapDragon, Capacitive, RAM and other specs of HD2 makes me think this might be the most compatible device for now.
Of course, the fact that I own one does not mean anything

Since this is an HTC's ROM, it should have pre installed software, like readers, games etc. Do we have any info on that?

that was a Chinese website and didn't described anything
I look at this package completely it was similar to any win 6.5 packages but added the new things such as xna and .... ( the app that microsoft told they will come on wp7 ) So it should be a WP7 package

I'm almost tempted to flash this ROM on my WM7....

Yes theres a Mozart ROM it was referred as the HD3 WP7 ROM. I have it downloaded just sitting there. In order to even flash something like this you'd have to change the Device ID info in the setup & then it wouldnt upgrade the bootloader. You'd have to have probably unlocked w/ a bootloader created for the Mozart. Then you'd probably not be able to use the flash drive on a T-Mobile branded HD2 since the HD7 has 512 & so on. Drivers should work fine if you could flash it but where to begin would take time & effort.

i think that wp7 will be the end of the cookers rom

I bet they would push out this ROM to devices that dont have the WP7 support w/ updates but what can you really do w/ WP7 now? Only the future will tell.

Can the Htc hub be extracted to be installed on a prod wp7 device? Or is some sort of signing issue?

If someone have prototype with incomplete system. Try found at here and flash it. Dont forget backup special partition via win32disk image,partition guru,winhex,etc.

ok... Still, the aim is to push it to W10M, so if you manage to get an image with W10M, even without touch, I would be interested in that image instead.
Then, maybe we find a way to get the standard touch back, perhaps with newer W10M updates (eg tricking it as a different device, thus restoring the "normal", non-3Dtouch updated files) or in the worst case, we could perhaps find a workaround with the drivers...
