Diztronic Case for Sprint Optimus G - Sprint LG Optimus G

Here are a few pictures of the Diztronic case I just recieved today from Amazon. Total with shipping came out to $15. Which I think is a decent value for this case.
I have the Spigen Ultra Clear screen protector on the phone. As a side note the Spigen screen protector is the best I have used, this is the first time I have used this brand, I definitely recommend them. In the corners, if you press the case into the phone the screen protector starts to lift just slightly at the edge, do to pushing against the edge of the screen protector. On the sides the case seems to sit more on top of the screen protector and does not lift the film from the glass.
The case fits the phone very well and doesn't provide to much added bulk, which was important to me. The phone does feel noticeably wider than it has since I've been using the phone with no case till now. This is the first time I have used a case at all on any of my phones, I'm one to enjoy the original look and feel of a phone versus covering it up. This phone is probably the best looking of any phone I have had and probably any phone out there right now. But I do feel like it needs a little extra protection, which this case adds. The charcoal gray color is nice too and the feel is a soft touch plastic feel. The matte finish helps with finger prints too. The case is flexible, but stiffer than the silicone cases I've seen. The case has a black glossy ring around the top lip, which adds a nice detail to it.
Overall I would recommend this case to anyone looking for something fairly thin and discrete and of good build quality. If you have any other questions let me know. Hopefully the pictures help this review a bit more too.

Do you have the Otterbox and have you used them ever? I'd love a quick comparison if possible! That's what I was going to get but I just want better protection with minimal thickness.

Bought the Otterbox from sprint store with the phone, but immediately jumped on the Diztronic case on black friday release date. I have had a Diztronic case for my Epic 4G Touch before and it looked nice plus saved my phone on quite a few falls. However, it is not an otterbox bomb shell...
Really happy with how the Diztronic case fits on the LGOG and it is more protected than naked. I guess if you want a sleek case, that offers some protection, I will recommend Diztronic... However, if you feel your history with phones is quite harsh, then go with the extra size and protection of Otterbox.
FYI.. I returned the Otterbox as I never used the screen protector and was within 2 weeks of purchase... Very happy with with my Diztronic case.

Wow that's one boring looking case; I guess since they think the Optimus G looks boring, it's only natural...

I have the same combination of the Diztronic case and the Spigen screen protectors and overall am pretty happy with them. Short of a simple bumper, I don't think you can get any more minimal as far as cases go than this one and still provide some basic protection. Without the case, I always felt as if I was going to drop the phone (feels slippery IMO) but now that I have the case, I feel much more reassured that it is not going to slip out of my hands. I had a Diztronic case on my previous device for over a year and it held up well and so I am expecting nothing less from this one. The black color matches well with the phone, looks pretty professional, and the buttons are easy to push.
I do have a pair of high-end earphones (Etymotic ER-4P) that cannot connect to the phone though due to the connector's surrounding plastic being too thick / the case's headphone cutout being not wide enough to accommodate my earphones' connector. I've had these earphones for several years and while this case's headphone connector cutout seems like a decent size, this is the first time I've come across a case that has blocked the use of my earphones. To fix it, I guess I could have just gone ahead and taken an exacto knife to the case but I went ahead and purchased a simple short headphone extension cable and I anticipate that will solve the issue. The only other thing I don't like is I wish Diztronic would just stick to a simple logo branding on the back of the case instead of writing out the entire name of the company + the logo (seems like overkill).
This is also my first use of the Spigen screen protectors (normally use Boxwave but they were unavailable when I checked) and so far so good, seems like a pretty comparable product to the Boxwave one.

Ordered one of these cases yesterday

Do these cases come with it's own screen protector?

No, and be aware, the case may push at the sides/corner of your screen protector which causes it to lift up. Other than that, I really like the case.

Was just informed my diztronic case had arrived at my house. Ill do a quick review when i get home from work. Cant wait to check it out

I like the case a lot so far. The case is a little tight but not as tight as the body glove case. Also much thinner then the commuter case. Love the matte feel of the case and its paired extremely well with my anti-glare screen protector. But it IS making my screen protector bubble up a little but not too bad.
Overall satisfied with the case and I'm sure it will loosen up after having it on for a little while.

Will post my opinions tomorrow, case was delivered to me at work yesterday.

Got the Diztronic this morning. Quality is amazing. Slightly tight fit on the phone, but I am sure that it will work in some if I remove it a couple times.
Feel of the case is almost slick with the texture that is on it. Hopefully that will wear in a bit.
My only complaint is the gate location from how it was molded. It could have been placed better in a less visible area than a corner.

Jus got it today and its actually better then i thought it would be, really nice fit and it doesnt feel bulky at all like an otterbox, i would only get one of those if it came with the belt clip but currently they dont offer those yet for our phone, otherwise this is a really good case

You can already buy cases with belt clips, but they are generic. Just search ebay for "ls970 case belt clip -leather -pouch"

I just ordered mine, it should be here by the weekend.

[REVIEW][PICS!] SGP Ultra Silke & Steinheil Ultra Crystal SP

Received my SGP Ultra Silke case in Soul Black for the Galaxy S II (SHW-M250S)(SHW-M250K)(GT-i9100) today. Thought I'd do a little review.
Where is it from?
Designed in California, made in Korea.
Where can I buy it?
eBay has a few sellers selling it. That's where I got mine.
Retail price?
I think MSRP is $19.99 excl. shipping. eBay prices are about the same.
Shipping?
Ordered it Monday May 30th and got it today (Tuesday June 7th). Not too bad. It was shipped directly from Korea.
What's in the box?
1x SGP Case Ultra Silke
1x Steinheil Ultra Crystal screen protector
1x Microfibre cleaning cloth
Gifts?
This wasn't mentioned in the description or anything but I got two extra screen protectors (in addition to the Steinheil one in the box). Some Korean brand (Phone Mirror) I've never heard of. It's for the SHW-M250S/K but looks like it should fit fine on my i9100. No holes for the FF cam or sensors though. Just cutouts for the earpiece and home button.
Packaging?
It arrived in a little padded mailer. Nothing special.
Box itself is a clear plastic box, with a black matte plastic base. There's a sticker covering the bottom bit telling you what type of case, what color and what phone it's for. It wraps around the side (where it tells you there's an included Steinheil SP) and ends at the base, where there's a barcode. There's also a SGP hologram on the top right corner.
The clear bit is just taped to the matte base. It lifts off to reveal the case.
Under that there's a paper insert with the serial number and under that is the SP and the microfibre cloth.
Case?
The case itself is a silicon case. Nothing like the average cheapo silicon cases though... It feels sorta satin-matte-y. Very flexible too.
See, it's actually a silicon case coated with a polymer coating which should prevent dust and other particles from sticking to it and makes it easier to slip in and out of a pocket.
The 'easier to slip in/out of a pocket' is true- it's actually quite slippery. If you're looking for a case to improve grip on the phone (clumsy?) then this isn't the case you're looking for.
It also does sorta prevent dust from sticking on the case. I think you have to break it in or something like that first- it got dust stuck to it like crazy (seemingly out of thin air) for the first few hours but it's just fine now.
The cutouts are absolutely perfect. Both mic holes match up perfectly (and since they're both just little pinpricks, not huge craters, that's pretty impressive). Speaker hole matches up perfectly. There's even a little bit of silicon sticking out on the sides of the hole to indicate where the first speaker hole ends and where the second hole starts.
Headphone jack matches up just as perfectly. Maybe a bit too perfect- a generic aux cable wouldn't fit due to the huge amount of plastic surrounding the jack (it would only go 3/4 in). A cable with a slimmer plastic surround worked though. Most headphone cables should work fine.
The strap hole is perfectly cut out too.
There is no gap around the camera hole. Yes, the cover does touch the table before the camera lens, so no worries there.
The microUSB port hole is fine obviously.
Unfortunately, there is a cutout on the top right corner for the Korean-spec DMB TV tuner. Possibly a weak spot. But then again, this case was was advertised for and designed for the SHW-M250S/K so that's to be expected. I wonder if they'll release a US/UK-spec version?
On the front there is a pretty thick lip so no worries about placing the phone face down.
The power and volume buttons aren't cut-outs, the plastic cover acts as a button extender. They work fine. Not harder to push than without the case or anything.
Swiping your finger against the side and bottom does cause the silicon to move since it's not a rigid material. Potentially irritating to some. Dust might also get in that way?
SGP labelling on case?
One nitpick many people have with cases is that many companies slap a hugeass logo or text self-advertising the case company.
On this case, there's (from top to bottom) the SGP logo, 'SGP CASE' and ' ULTRA SILKE' on the bottom. Small text and very minimalistic. It's just above the reverse chin on the back. Not loud or anything.
Take the case off and you'll find a whole bunch of text telling you what brand & type of case it is, where it was designed, where it was made, and what type of phone it's for.
Steinheil Ultra Crystal Screen Protector?
They advertise it to be 25% thicker than normal protectors for additional anti-scratch/scuff protection. It's also (apparently) 'anti-UV' and fingerprints should be wiped away easily. I don't think it's oleophobic though.
Application is the usual 2-step 'remove the first bit, stick it on, then remove the protective top layer' method. As previously mentioned, there is a provided microfibre cleaning cloth. No squeegee though.
It does seem to be thicker than my generic protector I already have applied. No cutouts for the FF cam or sensors either- only cutouts are for the earpiece and home button.
No camera protector provided unlike with some other SGP products.
[above this is just based on a general observation- haven't applied the SP yet- probably won't till I scratch my current protector into oblivion first]
Pictures?
Here you go. Sorry, iPhone 4 images.

Thanks!
I was wating for somthing like this.. still trying to decide between this one to the Ultra capsule..
nice review. is it bulky? attract dust?
Does your case have a slight bulge on the volume rocker and top part of the phone, mine one isn't straight. If you hold up the edge of an A4 piece of paper you can see they're not parallel, just wondering if there's an issue with my case. I've got the UK model.
I bought this as well from Korea
Still waiting for the SII to launch in my country
From the pictures it seems to have quite a bit of dust sticking on the case even though you said it does not attract dust... Hmmmmm......

Doesn't add much thickness or weight to the phone.
As mentioned in the OP it does attract dust directly OOTB but after using it for a bit it becomes bearable.

Pictures were taken immediately after taking it out of the box. It's better now, and when dust does stick, a quick brush with a finger solves it.
thanks for the review, i have SGP Oleophobic screen protector coming soon. So let us know how the SGP Ultra fairs
Sure, like I said, I'll apply it if I trash my current protector. I'll be sure to update this thread when I do that.
Let us know how the oleophobic protector is too, hm?
You sure the screen protector is sgp? Cause mine looks way different to yours and i got mine sent from seoul from my sister in law.
The clear film under the microfibre cleaning cloth in the 2nd image is the SGP Ultra Crystal protector provided with the Ultra Silke case.
The 2 'Phone Mirror/High Quality' protectors in the 3rd picture were a 'free gift' from the seller. Those are generic Korean protectors, not SGP.
If you rip open one of those packages you have it should look similar to what's in the 2nd picture.
Just wanted to add that the microUSB cutout in this case is large enough to fit the DealExtreme USB OTG cables.
Also dust barely sticks on to it now. Only major issue is the TV antenna cutout in the top right- I can see myself dropping the phone and having that corner hit the floor (yeah I'm unlucky like that).
I have the gloss version of this case and I can very highly recommend it. I had the 'casemate - barely there' case, but sent it back cause this was £1 more and much much better.
Comparing the two i'd say that the SGP is marginally thicker, but is still by no means a thick case and can be considered a slim case. As OP mentioned case has a lip that extends over the front of the phone, which i'd imagine would give some (though limited) protected against being dropped face down. The casemate didn't have this. The cut-outs are perfect except for that troublesome TV tuner corner, but you'd have to drop your phone at a very exact angle in order to do any damage. Whereas the cutouts on the barely there .. well.. they were so large they exposed massive regions of the phone.
Also the case is made out of a hard rubber type material. I've had a cheap silicon case from eBay, and this is nothing like that. Much slimmer and the material is much harder. It feels like its built to perfectly absorb shock. The casemate was hard plastic, i'd image that would give absolutely minimum shock protection if the phone was dropped.
I haven't had the dust attraction problem that OP had, but the gloss case gets covered in fingerprint marks really easily. A quick wipe with the t-shirt sorts this out though.
Not sure what else to say. Oh, the gloss effect is 'enhanced' by having a bit of glitter on the case. Its like darkish glitter and subtle, but non-the-less my case is covered in glitter. As a man I feel slightly uncomfortable with having a phone covered in glitter. I really wanted the gloss case, but if i'd know if was all glittery I probably would have gone for the matt. Its not enough of a concern for me to send it back though, just a thought for people wanting to buy the gloss case. You can kind of see in this picture, though it just looks like dust - it is in fact sparkly glitter:
In terms of the screen protector that came with the case. Nothing new to report. I received the Stienheil Ultra screen protectors and a little microfibre cloth. I'd say the surface is slightly less slippery and hold finger prints slightly more, but is worth it for the protection.
The cutouts were perfect and cover the whole of the screen surface except for the speaker and the middle button. The front camera is covered, but I haven't noticed and picture quality difference. There is a 1mm margin uncovered margin around the face.
Thats all I can say. Pretty much do not buy the 'casemate barely there' because for £1 (eBay prices anyway) and the tiniest margin of thickness more you get a much higher quality and much safer feeling case that comes with high quality screen protectors.
Great thread. I just can't understand why the cutout is there on the corner. You would think they would want to make two versions given the international market for this mobile.

The glitter is one of the reasons I chose the silke over the capsule.
The dust problem is no longer noticeable and even when dust does get stuck to it a quick brush with a sleeve or something. Can't say the same for the inside though- seems to be more rubbery than the exterior.
I eventually stuck some tape over the top right corner to cover up the TV tuner hole. Might help just in case, idk.
Nice review, and makes me glad I chose the silke

Well to be fair the guy I bought it from is from Korea, and the box clearly states for Korean SGSIIs, so can't blame em too much Would be nice if they made an 'international' version though, yes.
Bought an Ultra Slike and loving it. Had one of those cheaper cases but this one looks better. Unfortunate though for the cutout, could have been so much nicer without it
It does look sleek doesn't it?
Makes my s-curve case look bulky and ugly in comparison (and I thought that looked good when I bought it, hah).
It's a bit slippery though. Is the inside of the case more rubbery/grippy than the outside on yours?
Haha it does and it fits nicely. True about the slipperiness but I can live with it. Just have to be careful
I have the Ultra Silke and its a nice case.
Does anyone else have a problem with the SGP screen protector lifting slightly beneath the home key?
I think the rubber lip is catching it as I take it in and out of my pocket.
Might just go for a more rigid case, possibly the SGP capsule and see how that goes

zagg invisible shield or spigen spg screen protector and case suggestions

hi,
I'm about to buy a screen protector for my note, but i can't decide which one to get.
i found so many types of the sgp(ultra optics, ultra fine...etc)
my budget is $20 so which one should i get ? i want something with anti-glare and scratch resistant
Don't like the soft type films like Zagg. Don't like the added friction on finger drags (very slight). I especially can't stand the zagg film as a body protector. Seems to collect lint and eventually starts to peel off. I have also tried Bestskins Ever which are the same type and they seem to had an emulsifier issue, finger nail dents were really slow to fill in and after a while I had some bubbles but not air but emulsifier.
I like the SGP type films better more rigid and very smooth after the the first day. And they go on dry. They tend to show finger oils more and can get scratched. Avoid their matte finish, I thought it was horrible and the finger print phobic one eventually becomes philic. The SGP protector that I had on me HTC Incredible was the best cut protector I have ever had. The one for my EVO was not cut as well but still fit well. I still think they have some of the best screen protectors out there but I do think they are over priced. I have a tough time justifying a cost over $10 for a screen protector.
I currently am using Boxwave's screen protector on my Epic 4G Touch. I like that a can remove it with scotch tape, rinse it and reuse it. Fit is ok but it is a finger oil magnet. At $5.95 I think it's a good deal. I just ordered the matte and clear one for my yet to arrive Note. I will post how feel about them once I get my Note.
i was about to order the sgp capsule case, it comes with an ultra crystal screen protector which will make it cheaper than getting only a screen protector($25 for the case + protector vs $15 for only 2 screen protectors)
The only good screen protector i tried is the one that came with the iskin vibes case for my ipod touch, about two years now and it's still very good.
As for the Boxwave, I can only find this one for the note, it's cheap so i might order the capsule case and the boxwave screen protector, this way i'll have some extra screen protectors if the one with the case wasn't good, i just want to get something fast because the screen got scratched and the camera is exposed with no protection whatsoever.
Sgp blows. Go with them of you want to risk being shipped the wrong product, enjoy shoddy customer service that does not respond when you have an issue, like $15 screen protectors that last a month, and/or you like when businesses charge you prior to shipping.
Keep your money, screen protectors are useless with gorilla glass screens.
gorilla glass got scratched, so i need a screen protector
as for the case the sgp case i don't know of any alternative within the same price range

it got scratched(even if the scratch is too small and hardly visible) ... that's why i need a screen protector to prevent anymore scratched whatever it's type is now(spigen or any other brand) imo would be better than leaving the screen exposed.

Can't base a whole business and its product after your experience. Order a protecter and the next day ask about shipment and was emailed back in les than a few hours with tracking etc...
Maybe because you tried ordering a product not yet for sale?

Tell that to the guys who go to the beach a lot. One spec of sand on your finger can do some serious damage. Depending on where you live or work, a screen protector can save your phone from damage to the screen.
I'd go with anything other than Zagg. Don't like them at all, I can't do the orange peel again and the sticky feel. I have SGP on my Note, I like it enough to recommend it. It's very clear, does the job nicely.

i guess this one would be better as it has 2 protectors not one.
if you want a case there are so many options now and after reading a lot i found that users opinions differs even for the same case ... in my opinion, until the case mate tough case is realeased there are these options:
1- SGP Samsung Galaxy Note Case Ultra Capsule : mixed reviews but overall good case and it come with a good screen protector
2- Capdase Alumor Jacket Elli : can't find enough reviews but it looks thick and has good protection
3- Momax iCase Pro : i dunno why i like it, but i do
4- NILLKIN TPU CASE : cheap and good one reviews are on the positive side too
5- Speck CandyShell Case: expensive but very good and the closest one to the case mate tough case, very good materials and protection

if i remember correctly i think that i have had the zagg invisible body shield for my ipod touch when i bought it and it was not good, it collected dust on its edges, so maybe it won't be a good idea (plus after checking the prices it's more expensive than anything else)
EDIT: i changed the title to fit the post changes
I have the SGP Crystal and it is superb. I use to use ZAGG but do not like the rubbery feel.
For those that think a screen protector does not help look at the pictures below. I dropped my Note on the corner of a steel filing cabinet drawer and the SGP protector did its job. Without a screen protector my screen would surely have been scratched.

Well to be fair, you would just have to dropp it again in the same way just to verify the screen would have been scratched (not that you should of course lol) but yeah no matter what material the screen has (i've heard is gorilla glass), i feel better if it has some extra protection and it wasnt a cheap smartphone..... so better safe than sorry, im glad the SGP did its job cheers

I think I will go for the SPIGEN SGP GLAS t. Premium Tempered Glass Series Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 .
The only thing that I am concerned so far is if it works with the SZLF Aluminum bumper (IS a very very cool bumper).
It seems there is enough room to fit the screen 0.4mm thick. But is glass not plastic trash.
Any ideas ?
I tried dropping it again but now it is glued to my hand for some reason..lol

Got my ultra fine on today and so far in happy. For a matte its hardly as bad as everybody says. In white areas there is barely rainbow effect. They're site states none but there is a little. For 20 it came with w so im happy. Can't justify 40 bucks on 1 protector as much as that glas.t looks good...

Hello, I got the Note 2 days ago and it is awesome! I ordered the invisibleshield and I am concerned how the spen would work. I read somewhere in the forum that it would leave scratches because material of the shield is soft and I guess it is so.. I am just looking for someone to confirm this. Thank you.

I was about to order one then I went to youtube and watched some videos for iPhone 4s installation.
Most if not all of them had huge, and i mean HUGE (like thumb print sized) areas where it did not adhere and they look like huge air bubbles (which in fact they are).
If it is that difficult to install on an iPhone 4s, then think of how hard it will be to install on our Notes.

Intro:
I have never previously heard of diztronic cases before recently reading here in the Galaxy S III – Accessories sub forum. After reading how much praise they were receiving from Galaxy S II and Galaxy Nexus owners I decided to order the case and try it out for myself. I ordered clear over black as I hoped it would allow the natural beauty of the phone to be displayed. For $9.90… why not?
Case Review:
If I were to sum up the entire review into one sentence it would be this: This is a surprisingly nice case.
1) Case General Attributes
As we know the Galaxy S III is a little slippery due to the gloss back cover. This clear TPU case adds a nice subtle texture to the rear of the device that definitely eliminates that slipperiness but is not overbearing. The texture stops at the top of the brushed metal bezel that surrounds the Galaxy S III and from there on is a clear non textured gloss TPU plastic. I happen to enjoy this transition as I like the non-textured feeling around the rim. The clear nature of the case allows the true beauty of the Galaxy S III to show threw the case with a slightly frosted appearance. The case is also very thin and seems to add minimal bulk to the device. (This is only one of two cases I have used/reviewed to date for this device so take that with a grain of salt.)
2) Button Access/Cutouts
The cut-outs for power button, volume rocker, microphone, micro-usb, headphone jack, and flash/camera/speaker are correctly positioned and for the most part centered very respectively to their positions on the device. For example on other similar cases the micro-usb cutout is bigger than it needs to be for no apparent reason, on this duztronic case it is not. The case is molded very well. Nowhere do I see extra molding pieces, poor transitioning of textures, improper cutting, as one might in cheap cases.
3) Fitting
The case fits very snugly to the phone for the most part. If anyone has used a silicone case they know how easy they are to come off due to their extremely malleable construction… With this TPU case there is no worry of that. There are only two positions I worry about in the long term and those are the upper rim of the volume rocker and the power button. Those are the only two spots that I can detect any flimsiness at all. Still not silicone flimsy but more than I would like.
4) Protection
This case is no otterbox… but with that being said it does protect the entire device. Some other cases for some reasons do not cover the tops and bottoms of the phone, this one does. I have only tested this case with very minimal drops onto table tops and other less course surfaces. It does its job. I would say its main purpose is to prevent scratches, protect from minor drops, and add some peace of mind when placing on a table.
Bonus Free Screen Protector Review:
I am glad the case came with a free screen protector but it does leave something to be wishing for. I did not have a screen protector on my phone and this will hold me over until I find one that better suits my likings. The included screen protector is a peel and apply, thin, plastic screen protector. I enjoy this type of screen protectors over water application types (zagg, skinomi, etc.) as I find them easier to apply and usually have less possibilities of air bubbles and orange peel affects. As most screen protectors it does show more finger prints than the gorilla glass, although, that is to be expected. The protector is ultra-clear with no tenting or color distortion of any sort. I would give it a perfect rating if only it covered the full front of the device but it does not. This may be due to the slightly curved nature of the phones glass around the top and bottom, but it does not explain why the protector does not span fully left to right on the screen. If you’re looking for something to get you by this will do. If you want a screen protector that is not noticeable and offer full protection, look somewhere else.
Final Comments:
I am happy with the purchase. It is the best case I have ever purchased for under 10 dollars. The cut outs are perfectly positioned, it is not too thick, it has a lip to protect the screen, it is firm and not overly flimsy, it is slightly textured to add grip, and with it being clear it allows the natural beauty of the Galaxy S III to shine through. I would recommend this case to someone who is looking for a cheap option to add decent minimal protection to their device that doesn’t include much bulk.
---- Pictures in Post 2 ----
Pictures:
The sides of the display are curved exactly the same as the top and bottom. That's why the screen protector doesn't completely cover any of the edges.
yea your right about that. realized it after writing it. but still i would like to see a screen protector that accounts for that and still covers entire screen. It is the best free protector i have ever received though.
In your opinion, is it easy to pull the phone in and out of your pocket with the case on it?
Thanks for the review!

Yes it is. I don't know if you ever had a seidio case or silicone case, seidio is rubber coated and silicone is like all rubber, they stick in your pocket and are hard to pull out, especially when sweaty. But this harder TPU material makes it much easier. It's not as easy as the slippery phone itself, but not hard. Haven't tried it in a tight set of jeans yet... As I find that to be the ultimate test.

Hmm. The screen protector covers the front-facing camera whereas most other ones have cut-out.
Do you have a matte white case, like the one in this review? or a glossy white case?

From our product description:
Regarding Screen Protector Sizing: Due to the tapered edge design of the Galaxy S III glass it was not possible to make our screen protector cover the glass all the way to the edge. Our screen protector covers the flat part of the glass only, as it would not adhere properly around the edges otherwise. This results in approximately 4mm of space from the edge of the display to the screen protector on all sides. This design choice will be consistent with the other static cling screen protectors on the market.
So basically it's just not possible to make it any bigger than we did or it would peel up along the sides. I would of loved to have them cut the full size of the screen, believe me! The screen is tapered on the right and left as well, so we couldn't of extended it that way either. If your looking for edge-to-edge protection you'll want to get an wet application screen protector, or the Nano from SGP which is an ultra thin PET film, but from my understanding even the Nano doesnt go all the way to the edge. I'm currently using the SGP FlexHD wet application screen protector on my GS 3 and it's pretty decent. I personally prefer PET but it's more important to me to have it go all the way to the edge so I'll settle for thermoplastic urethane on this device. I'm glad your happy with the quality of the screen protector though, we did switch to a Japanese based film which greatly increased our costs as they are 4x as expensive as the previous Korean PET film we were using. I think it's worth the added cost. I'm not sure how much longer we can continue to include them for free though. It doesn't make much sense that our Evo LTE case which doesn't include a screen protector is the same price as our GS III case which does. We'll probably increase the price of our cases that include a screen protector on our next major release by $1.00 to offset the added cost. Would you guys rather see us go back to the cheaper film and include the screen protectors for free, continue using the Japanese film and raise our prices by $1.00, or not include a screen protector at all and keep the prices where they are? Getting a Japanese based film screen protector for $1.00 more is a great deal in my opinion, SGP is charging $12.99 for their Japanese film, although you do get 2 of them for that price.
I really want to stress to you guys that these clear cases don't last as long as our black cases. I'm replacing mine about every 30-60 days because it either picks up blue dye from my pants or just becomes dirty. The matte finish makes it difficult to clean. If you are looking for longevity I'd go with black. If anyone's found a good way to clean them, and I'm sure there is some way to do it, please let me know!
Cool. Ordered one from Amazon earlier today. :good:

As I use it more and more the screen protector is not noticeable unless evaluating the edges in direct bright light... It doesn't even bother me anymore. It is a much appreciated addition to the case.
I find it interesting that you are speaking against the clear case as it is your own product.... Hmmm. I have not had it long enough to evaluate dirt absorbtion yet. I will update the review as it gets dirty to show time frame and other thoughts over time.

Raise the prices by $1. People respect quality and will see the value added. Especially here on XDA.
Not include the screen protector for me.
I didn't see any other case worth buying around the $10 mark. What's another dollar for a better screen protector?
Order this case last night.
Thanks for the review.
I ordered this case yesterday. I'm going to be really disappointed if it only lasts me 60 days.
Anyone have pictures of this case on the pebble blue version?
Edit - Found pics in another thread: http://imgur.com/a/Mq9xX#UnaGs
Make it a dollar more if the screen protectors are good. I haven't gotten mine yet though.
i ordered a matte black on amazon the other day, but then i read one of the seller's comment about a pebble blue one coming in a couple of weeks, so i'll wait for that instead.

Current cases insufficient, need a new one, narrowed it down

Hi guys, I need a new case but have a couple questions about the causes I've narrowed it down to. I'm a student so I want to eliminate the need for having to buy another case if I dislike my purchase.
I have 2 tpu cases currently that were cheap at local cell shops.
The first one flexes too much where the volume rocker is so it causes my screen protector to bubble every time I press it. SUPER annoying.
The second seems to be somehow scratching the edges of glass that arent protected by my screen pro.
I'm guessing this case is a bit looser and has minimal movement and allows small particles to find their way in between the glass and the case.
I'm torn between two cases and I need some info on them that I havent been able to find reading the forums or from watching youtube reviews.
1) Incipio frequency: My main concern with this case is the sides flexing and causing my screen protector to bubble. Is there anyone that owns this case and can comment on this?
2) Seidio Surface: I've always wondered about just how snug these 2 piece cases are. Does the phone have enough space in the case that it is allowed to rattle at all? or is it just snug enough to keep the phone stable without scratching it?
COLES NOTES
-Need new case
-Incipio frequency or Seidio surface
-Will incipio case cause screen pro to bubble when volume rocker pressed
-Will seidio surface slowly scratch away at the aluminum finish/curved glass edges
All input is appreciated:cyclops:
So I'm writing this because of the "All input is appreciated"
Will you consider a third case? If so, take a look at the Trident Aegis case. You can find it brand new on eBay for $20 with shipping. I've used their cases before and they look extremely nice and on top of that, they do a good job with protecting the phones. I bought one brand new from eBay and I just got it today. It looks really top-notch. I'm waiting for my phone to come in. Hopefully I'll have it tomorrow so I can play around with it and give you some more feedback on Friday.
I've had the Seidio surface for over a month and so far no scratches on the glass or aluminum body. The inside of the case is soft with a carbon fiber sticker covering the inside. The phone fits snuggly but I can see a problem if you use a thick screen protector because of the tight fit.
All the cutouts are perfect with a nice beveled edge for the camera.
The case doesn't add a lot of extra bulk, which is the reason I got, I hate giant bulky cases.
Thanks for the replies guys!
I checked out the Triden Aegis but there's something about it I just didn't like.
I ended up ordering an incipio dual pro. I like the fact that the silicon insert seems to be more rigid than normal silicon inserts
I have a surface and uag. Had the surface first and like the feel but it doesn't really offer much protection. I saw the write-up on the uag and gave it a try. My surface stays on the ready but I haven't used it since receiving the uag.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys!
My incipio dualpro finally came in and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I had my doubts after ordering that it would be too bulky or the silicon insert would be too flimsy.
I'm pleased to say that this case exceeded my expectations. There is some bulk added, however it isnt bad. It gives the phone some heft and just feels a little more solid. Fitment is perfect.
The only negative so far is that the volume rocker is a little harder to press

Fosmon Hybo Snap case review

Fosmon Hybo Snap case for the Moto G - Updated review - built-in protector IS removable!
I mentioned this case in the Moto G case list thread, it arrived today: giving a more detailed review since people requested it
Caveat: Update: Seller promptly refunded the money I had to pay for extra shipping, would purchase again from them. On an annoying note, I got charged an extra $1.13 by the USPS for inadequate shipping by the seller. Filing a complaint with Amazon -- it's a small amount of money, but sellers should not be advertising free shipping if they're going to do that sort of thing.
Cost: $4.50 + additional $1.13 for USPS charged shipping. Seller has since upped the price to $7.95 on Amazon & Ebay.
Onto the case itself:
- Two-piece TPU / polycarbonate shell case, with covered ports and a built-in screen protector
- Put on the TPU part first, then push polycarbonate part on top, then click the TPU flaps in place all around the phone. Extremely easy to both insert and remove the phone into the case.
The case itself does not feel cheap for such an inexpensive case. Both parts fit together very well -- the TPU piece snaps into the hard back and I didn't notice any large gaps or seams or other signs of shoddy workmanship aside from 1 point that I'll get to in a moment.
The TPU is rigid but pliable (not the stiffest TPU I've seen, but somewhat firmer than the rubber band around the official moto G grip shell). It's close to true black (not dark grey) and the sides have a nice texture for good grippiness, with a satin finish overall.
The polycarbonate (hard plastic) back is very matte and has nearly the same texture as the official Moto G backs, albeit a little more "velvety" (smoother feeling, hard to explain). It looks like it will also be a fingerprint magnet as well.
Both the headphone and microUSB ports have covers. The headphone cover is snapped in very securely, but the microUSB cover does not and sits slightly ajar (I'm not sure how it will hold up to repeated opening/closing). There are two small holes on the top and bottom of the case to allow for the two mics (regular mic + (noise reduction?) mic on top).
The back cover raises the camera/flash/logo/speaker off a table surface by around 1mm -- sufficient to prevent scratching, imho.
The buttons remain responsive with the TPU covering them --- in fact I'd say they're more sensitive because they are raised instead of recessed, this could be a plus or minus to you. Hides the jiggliness of my power button.
Updated: I was able to remove the built-in protector easily after cutting the protector in the middle from the cutout for the speaker down near the bottom end --- with it split, gently pulling one of the sides allowed me to smoothly peel off the entire protector with what looked like little or no residue. I am much happier with the case now that I'm able to use it without the built-in protector. Including photos of the peel job + what it looks like (edges of the screen lip, very clean) afterwards.
The built-in screen protector is the part I feel the most ambivalent about. I'm not a fan of built-in protectors in cases normally. This one is typical in that it sits slightly above the surface of the phone (not an adhesive type protector). You will hear a slight "click" when you're tapping on the screen and I find my finger dragging more on the screen. Responsiveness seems to remain the same, however. I had no problem firing off several texts and an email, or navigating through the phone itself. Clarity and color remains the same (included a photo of the phone screen on with the screen protector as a visual) --- the "greenish" tint in the photo is actually just a protective film you remove from the protector prior to installing the case. Does not interfere with the proximity sensor.
Conclusion:
Overall for a case under $10 it seems like a good deal. I'm still annoyed with the shipping issue, but the case itself is pretty solid --- it fits the phone exactly, flaps snap in as they're supposed to with the exception of the microUSB cover. I compared the thickness of the TPU around the sides of the phone with the Moto G Grip Shell, and it's definitely quite a bit thicker. While this adds more bulk to the phone, it also increases the protectiveness. The thinnest parts of the TPU are covered with the hard plastic and gives more added protection.
I'll be keeping my phone in this case for now and will update this review if anything else comes up.
Photos: (I kept my other cases, the Moto Grip Shell and the Rearth Ringke Slim case, for size & color comparison in some of them)

I hope this review is useful for people who are looking for an inexpensive case for their Moto G :good:
EDIT:
Added another two photos to compare the "black" color of the case versus other cases and other black objects:
In the shade, no direct light (indoors)
In direct bright sunlight
Update: Built-in screen protector is easily removable! Shown process pics below as well as an "after" photo showing the clean edges of the lip with the case back on the phone.
Is it possible to remove the screen protector? I paid the price of otter box for this case to ship to my place, after reading the click thing you said in your review about the screen protector I got a bit disappointed.

Thanks for such a detailed review Angomy, seriously considering this case. Is the front covering just a see through flexible plastic and do the screen colours still show through it as nice as without it?
I'm off to see if this is available on Amazon or ebay in the UK.
Is this the same case, but just different colors? I ordered two of these the other day. Waiting on them to arive.

I messages the guy on Amazon uk who claims to be the only uk distributor for Fosmon and he says not getting them.
OP do you feel you'd get away with dropping your moto now?

Updated edit: It is removable, it just seemed impossible when trying to pop it out whole (like you would with an Otterbox etc), but once you make a half-way cut in the protector, and pull one half down to the seam, it removes very easily along the seams without leaving any jagged edges etc. Very pleased with this now.
I don't have sensitivity issues in the middle portions of the screen but a 1/2 cm border at the edge of the phone, I have to press down harder or it sometimes doesn't register. This is probably due to the distance between the protector and screen being the greatest/least flexible at these points.
Keep in mind though that I already have another screen protector (static based, a Ringke clear one) already applied to the screen so it probably reduces the sensitivity even more.
I may see if I can remove it safely later this week and let you know the results.

It's a see through plastic, pretty stiff but still flexible --- the colors do not appear to be affected. I tried tilting it in bright light and at a short set of angles there's that slight "rainbow" effect you sometimes see, but I was looking at the phone at an angle that you wouldn't normally use at to see it.
I'm more concerned with the issues I posted above (re: reduced sensitivity around the edges, clicking) to be honest, if there's a reason for me to stop using the case it would probably be this but I'm picky about my surface sensitivity.

In terms of actual protection it's the case I'm currently taking with me to the bar & bowling alley this weekend where beer flows freely and I've dropped my old phone numerous times before
I'd say it feels a lot more secure than the Moto Grip Shell because the TPU is thicker all around, and the thinnest parts are covered by the polycarbonate back. I actually tried dropping it ~2 feet onto berber carpet yesterday (no damage) just to see/hear the bounce of the tpu, but didn't have the courage to drop it from a higher distance.

I must have just got in in time. it was £5.99 when I ordered it!
I decided on this one in the end as I love the wake/sleep function so I don't need to keep pressing that side button all day. :good:

Why are you putting this in the Fosmon case thread? Completely different case................
This case is absolutely perfect, with modifications, though. Actually, I was able to remove the screen protector but it took force and the glue isn't as strong once you get a small piece off. Volume buttons are too sensitive for me so I plan on shortening it on the inside

Which is why I won't buy a case with a built in screen protector.

Because I have already posted twice in this thread thanking Angomy for his review and saying I was trying to decide whether to get the Fosmon case or not and I was just saying what I had decided.
Is that ok with you?

Good news! I was easily able to remove the screen protector after I decided to cut through it (beginning with the speaker cutout at top) into half near the bottom edge. With some gentle pulling it easily lifted off did not leave any messy glue residue that I could see, though I still cleaned the areas with Goo Gone. Please see the original review for updated photos!
(Note: Ah I see someone also had success ^^ Good to see!)
Awesome, still waiting on mine to arrive. Should be here sometime next week.
