Is 4.2 ota ever coming to yakjuxw - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Or should i give up and flash yakju ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app

Give up.

It takes a long time to get JB 4.2.1 for Yakjuxw (more than 3 months, like always...) So that's why I use Takju on my Nexus to get latest Android update.

Will flashing takju/yakju change anything on my phone such as writing languages or operator support?

Nup. Unless you live in some really isolated place. Yakju is international, takju is US.

If i live in israel and want hebrew as a writing language, yakju or takju?

While working through the thread would serve you well & help give you a foundation going forward the flash all bat will work as long as you have the fastboot drivers set up.

The hardware on all GSM Galaxy Nexii(?) is the same. The yakju / takju builds are the build that are directly maintained by Google. There are a variety of yakjuxx builds that are maintained by Samsung.

Couple of colleagues of mine using yakjuxw handsets just received the OTA update for 4.2.1. It would seem the update is finally rolling out here in India.

i live in Norway and i've recieved OTA 4.2.1 today. It's about the f......g time

Is 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 out for GSM Galaxy Nexus yet?

Is 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 stock OTA ROM out for GSM Galaxy Nexus yet? Just making sure I haven't missed anything.
Why is 4.0.4 out for Verizon but we're still on 2?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
We have a 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 rom. Check the development section. Another 4.0.4 rom is set to be released as well called Foxhound. It is currently being worked on.

Just root the phone already. -_-

4.0.2 is the latest version of OTA for both CDMA and GSM.
We only have 4.0.3 ROMs because the source trees have been updated but no OTA yet. We have 4.0.4 for CDMA phones because there was one leak and its been put into ROMs.
If you're not going to root, you just gotta wait.
Sorry I should've been clearer.
I am rooted, but was enquiring about the OTA stock ROM versions. Thanks for the answer above!

both versions of the phone are updated to 4.0.2 via OTA, 4.0.3 was only released as source and 4.0.4 was leaked for the LTE

Pardon me?
Devices may get the latest update before we do, but this does not guarantee the build they receive will be stable and bug free. Also keep in mind predicted release dates are different than actual release dates.
Be patient, enjoy your hardware, and stop worrying about a single digit.
I'm fully aware there are a few complications with the current 4.0.2 builds, but its nothing detrimental to daily usage.
Also I know this is a Google based phone, but users have only insinuated that Google will update the nexus first, Google has not said the nexus will be first.

Well if the Acer A200 is getting 4.0.3 already, I guess it means ours can't be too much longer.
You serious? The performance is much improved, especially the stock browser and app switcher. I tested out a custom ROM to checkout the differences, but ended up immediately going back to stock because I can't bring my self to trust what a custom ROM is doing with my phone and data (no offense to any devs here). I tried to build my own from AOSP but gave up.
I'm impatiently waiting for the official OTA now.

This is lame, been waiting for 4.0.3 for two months basically.
I realize we'll get it before most devices but still, I didn't think it would take this long for actual OTA updates to come out after the source is released.

Actually the 4.0.4 for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus is officially available... I got the OTA update and built a stock ROM over that... and here's the download link from Google... http://android.clients.google.com/p....signed-mysid-IMM30B-from-ICL53F.659e0a8f.zip
I have 4.0.3 on my transformer prime, maybe it's just a tablet upgrade?? and the phones will get a 4.0.4 soon

Videotron users?

Hey,
Any of you guys get 4.0.4 ota yet? I've been waiting what seems like forever for those awesome fixes!

Videotron, not Verizon. Reading is tough, that's cool.
OP, you may want to just flash the update manually. If my experience with the Nexus One is indicative, Videotron seems to sell phones with OS versions that are not set to get prompt updates.

Videotron GNex's, like all Canadian GNex's, run the yakjuux build, for which there is no update available yet (aside from a leak). There is no difference in the software between a Videotron GNex or a Bell Gnex or any other Canadian GNex.
The options available to you are:
1) Flash the leak from here. Note that it disables NFC.
2) Convert your yakjuux build to yakju or takju, both of which are already on 4.0.4, and both are supported directly by Google so they get updates first.
3) Wait until you receive the OTA update notification yourself on your yakjuux build.

EDIT: Is there anything that the factory image for the Nexus 7 that can be used for the Galaxy Nexus?

Well, they said "mid July" at the release so I tend to take their word for it. Its so soon I doubt they're far from final builds being rdy to go.

Is it normal that I don't get an update for 4.2?

Hello all
I have a Galaxy Nexus (GT-I9250), YAKJUXW) and it says that 4.1.1 is the latest version available to update over the air.
Is it normal? I know that some people are getting 4.2 already.. and mine even isn't 4.1.2
Could someone please explain to me why I only get this version? Shouldn't Nexus devices get the latest versions all the time?
Thanks!
i don't know what's your version ? i mean model... variant i don't know what's it called.. check it by going to Maps/Setting/About and the you will see Samsung ******* under Device.
Who got 4.2 ota? Galaxy nexus should still be on 4.1

So guys i'm a little confused here
Should I get 4.2 or not? or the 4.1.1 is the latest one?
By the way, my device is YAKJUXW
Thanks again
Wondering the same thing.

Because your Galaxy Nexus is yakjuwx rather than just yakju or takju, your updates are governed by Samsung as opposed to Google. I'll assume that you bought your Galaxy Nexus from your carrier. If you're desperate to update to Android 4.2, the only way to get it right now is by flashing the takju or yakju factory image to your device. efrant has posted an excellent guide on how to do so here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895
AllBlaxx had the correct answer, if you have another build than takju or yakju you have to wait much longer, because updates distributed by samsung.
AllBlaxx, darkarvan thanks guys for the info.

[Q] Probably a stupid question but i cant get an answer...

Ok so i've combed trough the forums to try to find an answer but so far got nothing conclusive so i would appreciate if anyone know anything about..
I've got a Gnex stock rom 4.2.1 yakjuxw (both in Portugal, sim free brand new more than a year ago) never rooted and so far i got no 4.3 OTA update...
So my question is, did anyone receive the OTA in Portugal and/or Spain? iv'e read a that lot of people "stuffed" the other versions firmware by "hand" but i would like to know if Samsung is updating officially this devices in Europe before i do any mod on it.
thks.
So... nobody can help?

The codename takju was given for the phones sold through the play store.and yakju for the phones sold internationally. Both of them support gsm.
