ok guyz, i want to root my wildfire and install custom roms but i'm stuck in the very first step.
that explains my disappointment. i tried downgrading using buzzdowngrade on win xp and win 7 32-bit with no sucess.
can anyone suggest me what to do. on win xp it says "device not found"
note: i didn't installed htc sync on xp
then i tried on win 7 and after opening 1.bat it opens command prompt and after 1 minute shows an error....
any suggestions?

Those are the drivers you need
Not letting me post hyperlinks so just copy paste into browser.
you need to turn usb debugging on and ensure u run the program as administrator
1. Before you do anything, uninstall htc-sync from your pc but do not uninstall the driver.
2. Install the H-boot driver from unrevoked site. (run the installation as administrator)
3. Enable usb debugging mode on your Desire.
4. Connect the Desire to your PC.
5. Run unrevoked and wait untill finish.
6. After rooting is done, you can have your HTC-Sync back if you want it.

Is there no market icon or does it just FC?
If there is no icon you need to flash the Gapps.
There's no apps affiliated will google whatsoever. I flahed the cyanogen mod 7 successfully.
Could you please explain what gapps are and where I can find them and how to install thanks in advance

Are you on windows xp Vista ?
Some of you may have read my thread a few days ago about me having problems pushing the unlock code into my htc one x well I took that back and exchanged it for the plus
model and I am still in the same boat it says cannot load the unlock code bin file, could it be that my windows 8 just won't allow it to run properly ? Has anyone else unlocked a android device successfully with win 8?

Ok I just tried doing this on a windows vista is and it still comes up cannot load file...

I had problems with Win 8 too. Vista I have never tried.
What you could try is deleting all your htc and phone drives from your computer. Not just run the unninstaller but also remove them from device manager. Then reboot. Then plug your phone back in and let windows install the drivers again.
Ok... Has anyone on a telus htc one x plus unlocked theirs yet?

windows 8 works fine, don't know your problem.
Just try:
- Install HTC Sync,
- then install Android SDK with fastboot and ADB,
- then flash Unlock_code.bin
Unlock_code.bin should be 256 bytes in size.

Have you been able to unlock the ONE X+ from Telus ?
I've been having trouble all day trying to root my new MetroPCS HTC Wildfire S! I got to the last step where I need to send the Unlock Token.bin file to my device but Command Prompt gives me the error: ”unable to connect to device” (or something close to that). Then I tried again with the device all the way on (at the launcher screen) and command prompt just says ”waiting for device” indefnitly. I can't find
Another topic with this exact problem. Please help! Or, if you have a method for me to root without unlocking the bootloader would be great! Thank you in advance!
Also, I tried Unlock root, HTC Root, and Superoneclick 2.3.3, I also tried GingerBreak, NONE of them work!

I've got my HTC Desire Z, in original condition but I need help to root, install recovery and installing custom ROMs. I don't want to have to use a PC or laptop, since they are broken but I still have a tablet. Are there any guides or can people tell me step by step on how to get custom ROMs on the phone? BTW I'm starting from scratch so a lot has to be done... Thanks friendly forum people

I think that other than Visionary (which I recommend against using it due all it's problems), that there isn't many other options. :/ Check this out and see if there is anything that can help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348266
I'm sorry, i think you need a pc to root our phone, because you must copy sdk files from cmd and lauch them, and set other things
There are ways to install the fastboot and adb binaries on a tablet and then use an otg cable connected from tablet to desire z, this can work if your tab supports otg, then just follow the xda wiki
