I recently eliminated TouchWiz / Samsung features and apps such as S-Note. I used the S-Note application to jot down something quick. What's the next best application on Android 4.2.2 ROMs that are similar to S-Note? Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks for time and efforts!
Papyrus is very good.
I was recently at a lecture and used SketchBookMobile to take notes, draw pictures and diagrams. It's really an advanced sketching program along the lines of Illustrator but I find it really useful for jotting down notes. Other very useful features that many note taking apps do not allow is zooming in really close and writing very small. You'd be surprised how much fits on a page
Another advantage is that you can add photographs as a layer, resize them, fade them and write on top of them.
Good luck

I use Evernote and swipe with my finger. Easier for me.

Ian a newbie to the Note 8. But I really love the tablet for its note taking Capabilities. But I would like to Know if any One has used OneNote and how is it Compared to the SNOTE.
Also I am finding it hard to use the tablet keyboard with the SPEN. For example I thought I could write this whole thing on may tablet using my pen. I find the writing area to be too Small and I have a trouble with the Word Capitalization. Is anyone using a Separate editor and copying the text later on to the required applications?
Thank you

OneNote and SNote are totally different applications. SNote is a showcase for the s-pen and is intended for note taking and drawing using the s-pen. OneNote is a note-taking app similar to Evernote and is for collecting information, but not writing with the s-pen. In fact, the mobile version of OneNote does not accept drawing input. You can use the Samsung keyboard to covert handwriting to text - and it works great - but you cannot "ink" notes in OneNote.
used a Note II for over a year now
just upgraded today to the note 3, to discover that in the S Note app, when you create a new note, THERE"S NO PREVIEW!!!
before on the note 2, when you open the app, there's a grid style listing of all your notes, each one with a preview of its contents!
Very useful when you have almost a hundred notes!
I imported everything using my Samsung account, and EVERY note on the new note 3 phone has a "cover" over the notes!! no previews!
so when i open the app, im greeted by TONS of blue (or whatever color) boxes, making it nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find the note im looking for!
are there any other users out there that HEAVILY use the S-Note app that understand my frustration???
Searching Google is pointless... and i swear ive been thru EVERY setting trying to figure it out...
why would they CHANGE THIS???!?!
anyone know how to get the previews back??
I found that if i go into EACH note, I can create a preview, and have to re size a preview box, but that would take hours for all my notes, and still doesn't solve the problem of new notes defaulting to having a preview for the "cover"
I know there's that drag down thing to see a preview.. but once again, this defeats the purpose.. its gone from a super useful app, to not usable at all!!
I need to see a list / grid of previews when opening app up!
HELP!!!
any advice appreciated!
FYI im not looking for alternative apps - so I don't need suggestions to "stop using" Snote I know its a semi-crappy app.. but REALLY>>>?? common samsung!!!

Use the S-pen and hover over them. It's not the best, but it works for me. don't think there's any settings to fix the app itself. Hope I helped.

yea.. its not ideal, but thanks! I turned airview back on, and it least i can see something. thanks for the help!
I know I hope someone finds a way to fix it entirely! It's a shame when they have something great in previous devices but goof up in the newer ones. Let's just be patient, I bet a lot of people agree with this issue! I just saw no one was replying and I'd just give you an option

This, along with losing text reflow in the stock browse, are two VERY big Note 3 letdowns.
Hey all,
I've been loving the Note 3 and getting into the S features much more than I ever did on my Note 1. I often find uses for the scrapbook feature and the action memo handwriting recognition is ridiculous. I can't seem to find a use for S-Note however. For drawing I'll just use SketchBook pro and for quick memos I'll use Google Keep or google tasks.
I'm curious, do any of you use S Note for anything useful, and if so could you share your experience.
on my note 2 it for quotes when I went to bid out a job. No I cant sync it with Google so rarely use it.
Simple question as I've never used a Note phone before, just curious if I would have to use the default Samsung Notes or can I instead use any Notes app I install from the Play Store (be it Evernote or what have you)? Thanks!
You can use pretty much any note app you like. OneNote, Keep, Evernote, etc.

If you mean in the S-Pen Quick Settings, any app can be added. You will have to check S-Pen optimization and compatibility with your specific app of choice though.
Any other S-Pen function can be used with any app via the Share option once completing a task (GIF, Smart Select etc)
Thanks guys, a follow-up: If I use Samsung Notes how does the sync work? Is it only on the phone or is there a webapp, do my notes sync to Samsung servers or backed up on phone? I ask because I take a lot of notes for clients and that's why I really want the Note, but just preparing the little details so I know beforehand. Thanks so much for the help really appreciated
