Hey I was just wondering what is the best ROM for Gaming on the HTC Wildfire S
Other than CyanogenMod
Thanks.
Try gaming rom from einstein.frat ...........or maybe his "Thing Rom"........They might offer you a good performance
cm7 or gaming rom
which gives better performance
Cm7 is not good on 3D

HI all,
i think about buying a Desire HD, now i have a HD2, and it is laggy even for daily use with sense ROMs,also HD2 is no more powerful for playing some games(i dont play very much)
so buying a DHD is a good idea?
does DHD lags with sense ROMs(sense 4& 3.5)?
i choose DHD because i dont have alot of money
thank you in advance
I say DHD is a great choice. Once Virtuous r done with their Rom it will all be smooth. Great Camera on this thing. A big screen. Overall an amazing phone. Bit if you have the budget go for the One S, otherwise DHD is great !

A good choice.. i have tried both sense 3.5 and 4 roms no lag.. but it also depends on how heavy te apps you run are.. as sense roms as such a pretty heavy.

Maybe it's better to save up for something better, you really won't get such a big upgrade with a DHD over HD2...

In fact, there are a lot of sense roms for dhd including sense4.0 rom,but sense4.0 rom is not so perfect.
I think you can choose Sensation, you don't need to add too much money and it will bring you a better fell.If you do not have enough money, you can choose from Desire HD,Desire S and Incridible S.if i were you,i will buy sensation, because there is official CM9 for sensation
thank you to all replies,

Good Choice Buddy :good:
I want to know the difrerence between the camara quality between stock android and any custom roms
Htc uses image chip for its one series
Does any custom rom uses the image chip for it , does the camara qulity difrers from the stock?
I am die hard fan of htc camara and using htc one x , i want to root and install any custom rom like cynogen mod rom
But before doing that i wanna know the difference in camara quality
Plz help

Custom ROMs with HTC Sense use the chip and have good camera quality, even better than stock.
AOSP ROMs do not use Sense camera app nor the imagesense chip. Therefore they have a tad lower camera quality.
Can u suggest any one name of custom roms with aosp
I am new to root and roms so
Thnx for help

Icecoldjelly, CM10. Check for yourself, they all are at original android development section.
According to you , which rom should i use
As i am newbee so i am asking this...

I'm using IceColdJelly at the moment. You should really read and try them out yourself, that way you'll find the one you like.
Thnx a lot for helping

I like Pabx's the short amount of time I used it.
Long story short I've had my HTC Desire for around 2 years now and I really like it. It's not lightning fast but I've kept it fresh by changing roms etc. from time to time.
Last week I got a free HTC One V that I originally intended to pass on to my mother, but I'm not really sure if I should rather keep it myself.
I'm not expert at all - if I was I wouldn't be here asking - but looking at the specs they're pretty even with the One V having a few advantages, so based on that there's no winner.
I tried installing a few of my favorite apps on the One V and the thing that struck me the most was when browsing the web - using both the stock launcher and Dolhpin Browser the experience would be infernal to on the Desire. Specifically text would appear blurry when zooming in and web pages took longer to fully render when scrolling fast through a page. Is this just how it is with the One V or can it be remedied with a new rom etc?
Briefly I had a 4.2 JB rom flashed on the Desire and the blurriness issue seemed to appear here a bit aswell, however the rom didnt have a working camera and camcorder so I changed it fast - those two are really dealbreakers for me.
Which brings me to the reason I'd really like to replace the Desire - really often when shooting videos at 30+ seconds the audio and video will be out of sync and i absolutely hate that. Apart from that(and the low internal memory which can be fixed with roms) I love the Desire, even tho I'd love something abit snappier
Also, I would be rooting the One V and it just seems the Desire has a much stronger following so I'm thinking it'll be much easier to get new roms etc. for it, compared to the One V which I don't really have a bearing on since I never tried finding stuff for it.
TL;DR
HTC Desire or HTC One V?
And why?
Thank you and thanks in general, these forums have helped me so many times when flashing new roms
Try both for a week on stock ROM and choose the one you like? me personally wod go with the One V. Because my Desire was heavilly damaged.

I'm testing the One V now and I like it alot, but the browsing experience is really the one big downside - I think I'll have to try a custom rom to really compare.
But how is the One V with custom roms? I know the Desire has a hug selection and realyl alot of dedicated people still pushing the envelope with this handset, I'm just worried that the selection will be much more limited with the One V.
Web browsing is lightning fast on paranoid android 2.99 or any stable cm10 based roms. I would not recommend using 10.1 since most roms are not fully working yet ex. Broken camera.

Also optimizations like aurora v6 and swap files will remedy the ram problem on these roms and makes it fast and lagfree

Ok, I'll definately try those out. I tested CM 10.1 JB 4.2.2 on the Desire and that actually worked fine apart from the camera and camcorder, which are both deal breakers for me.
And browsing is excellent on my Desire, the One V just seems to take longer rendering or parsing or whatever, texts especiallt - when zooming in they will blur and it takes awhile for them to sharpen up. The Desire doesn't have that.
Also pinch zooming and moving webpages around just isn't as smooth and responsive as on the Desire - for instance when i swipe scroll down to the bottom on a page, it will show white and grey blocks for a few seconds before the page is displayed. On my Desire it's just there, no fuss.
I just don't get why the One V is worse in this regard, specwise it's the same or better. Is it all due to it running ICS?
I would never trade trackpad for adreno 205 and some more memory

I could easily go without the trackpad - I've found myself missing the menu button more, but then I realized a long press on the window tile ish button did the same.
However, the browsing experience on the One V is just abysmal. I just don't get how it can be that bad. I've tried the stock browser, dolphin and chrome and it's all the same.
It's too bad really, because it has so much else going for it compared to the Desire, but as it is right now I'll end up keeping the Desire and hope for a stable 4.2 JB rom with a working camera and camcorder.
@ Snyper - you don't have any issues at all with browsing compared to a Desire?
Have you installed all the latest updates on the one v? Reason I ask is cause I had the desire c till I cracked the screen and it used to do the same like take forever for pages to unblur so you could read them. But it was a lot better after one of the updates.

Yeah it's completely up to date - I checked just now and there are no new updates.
Android version 4.0.3
HTC Sense version 4.0
HTC One V is better.

By a ball hair lol. they r practically the same
I would think the one v would have a slight advantage once u root it and install a fast debloated ROM. That said I would take the desire having owned it then a one s, then a nexus one for 10 months and now a desire HD. I miss the desire the most. The desire HD is a definite upgrade but doesn't have the same feel and look as the desire.

a mate of mine has a rooted one V with a custom rom
personally the main difference is one V can handle heavier apps where desire has trouble
that and the fully functional sense
but since I'm not much of a mobile phone gamer I wouldn't part with my desire for a one V
Hi guys ....
I jus got a HTC one X
It's 32 gb version
I am still on stock and my battery backup is damn bad ...means currently I get nearly 11 hours of battery life ...
So my question is
If I flash custom Rom ....will that improve my battery backup ...by switching off two processors and running my device only on 2 cores ?
Help will be appriciated
