So online right now the Note 2 is 369.99 with a 2 year contract.
On Nov. 16 I went to get the phone for 299.99 + tax with $200 rebate. Device price = $500
Here's the plan I had before I upgraded to get the Note 2:
Classic
Unlimited: Talk for the 49.99 lines, text, nights, weekends, mobile to mobile, long distance.
30 - 5gb unlimited with hot spot
20 - 2gb unlimited
49.99 + 30 = 79.99
49.99 + 20 = 69.99
10.00 + 20 = 30.00
10.00 + 00 = 10.00
TOTAL: 189.98
Value
Unlimited: Talk for the 2 same lines, text, nights, weekends, mobile to mobile, long distance.
49.99 + 15 = 64.99
49.99 + 20 = 69.99
10.00 + 20 = 30.00
10.00 + 00 = 10.00
TOTAL: 174.98
ADD: EIP = 20.00 for 20 months
NEW TOTAL: 194.98 (they said in 9 months I can switch all lines to value which will drop the bill ~$50) so assuming that's true, $144.98 after the drop or if I just pay off the device.)
If it makes a difference, I do plan to keep the device 2 or more years.
Now is it worth it to keep the phone on the plan I have and just leave it as is, or get the online one and switch to value plan?
That's not really on sale. I'm pretty sure that was the price of phone when it first dropped. Honestly I went with the value plan and got the phone for 99 dollars of course with the 200 dollar mail in rebate. I was on a grandfather plan and the switch to the value plane saved me like 80 bucks. So Even with the extra 20 dollars a month for the phone I'm still saving 60 bucks. So for me it was a no brainer. I'd rather drop the 300 plus tax than 500 plus tax
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
I too got the gn2 for $99 w/$200 rebate, & switched to the value plan. I'm saving $100 a month, including the $20 a month extra for the phone. No way I could pass on that.
shop smart, shop S-mart...got it?!?

UPDATE 17/05/2010:
I have upgraded today, T-Mobile UK is out of stock so I asked if I could buy it from a store, they said yes but only a T-Mobile store, well I called around and no T-Mobile store has any stock! So I called CPW and they had stock and checked the discount and it still applies!
Remember that my deal includes a F&F discount, and this is the reason i have to pay towards the handset, not a big deal I'm happy!

Let’s keep this thread just about cost and ask questions like this in other threads. But to answer your question, people who originally had a Employee or F&F discount are able to keep them.

Are they on it permanently then? Is it still possible to get F&F now?
The deal I was offered was the Business Unlimited tariff on T-Mobile - 24 month contract at £30 with free phone and 3 months free rental ..... is this good or bad?
Anyone with the discount has it until they end their contract by moving to another provider. AFAIK T-Mobile is no longer offering this discount, so if you don’t have it you won’t get it.
In terms of your deal, I have no idea if it is a good deal or not, why not compare it with what others have listed on this thread. Maybe you should list yours in a similar format, so to help others.
I’ll be upgrading in a few weeks so I’ll update my first post with the details then too.

Happy Galaxy Nexus launch day in the US. Let's post where you got your GN and how much the store charge you (contract or no contract)
My brother got his @ local Verizon retailer store and it cost him $675 w/o tax (no contract).
local vzw store:
(contract) upgrade $249.
Just got home from Verizon in McDonough, Ga. Got mine for $250 after using my upgrade and jumping on a new 2 year plan.
I got 20 percent off my data package, 19 percent off my entire monthly bill, and 50 bucks off my phone when I bought an accessory, which made the entire package just under 300 bucks, tax included. I chose the extra battery with the charging cradle for it.
EDIT: Local corporate VZW store, they had one set aside for me per our phone conversations yesterday.
I got mine for $225 after new every two, plus living social $25 for $50. Bought 2100 MAH extended battery, haven't opened yet. $275 out the door for all after tax.
$249 From "Cellular Connection" in Fort Wayne, IN. They are a Verizon/Dish Network retail outlet.
Radioshack was $300, Regular Verizon stores were $300.
For those of you that got their phone from a Verizon store, for under the published $299 price, would you mind sharing how you did that?
I have a corporate discount, so I walked out of there with the phone and an extended battery for $265. It would have been $50 cheaper if I would have waited until the end of the contract, but i have a family plan and had an early upgrade and didn't want to wait.
Pittsburgh, PA downtown location of Verizon wireless. $249 upgrade price because of a $50 equipment discount due to my corporate rate.

corporate discount.
not a single person who was being ringed up at the time (about 5 others beside myself) paid the advertised price.
Let's talk selling them for $229.00 on contract.
Sent from the tip of my ThunderStick on a bolt of lightning.
Walmart has em for $229 but if for some reason you go to Best Buy, they will match Walmart's price.
Local VZW store. Was free for me, but my company paid $299.
Radioshack $299 on upgrade
I went in with full intention of paying full retail price (I'm only 8 month in to contract when I got my Thunderbolt in April).
Verizon Store manager kept saying "I hate selling phones for full price and without a contract".
He offered me to extend the contract (even at 8 months in) for $400 + tax. I said sure.
Also gave me the case/protector/charger package, a white plantronics bluetooth headset, and a HDMI cable. When the person assigned to me (not the manager) rang me up, he knocked off 50 bucks off the whole deal.
Walked out with a little over $400 including tax. I think I did okay considering I was gonna go in there paying full retail price + tax.
Troy, MI..got the phone for the $249 renewal price at a Verizon store. Got a Invisi-Shield from Best Buy, a 3-pc ****ty screen protector, extended battery for 50% off, incipio double case for 20% off (from verzion)

thought about doing the Let's Talk deal, but was scared off buy them possibly ****ing up my unlimited data plan..checked a bunch of forums and wasn't convinced Murphy's Law wasn't gonna pass me by. In the end, i'm happy I got a new phone in my hands today, and also was able to defer paying for it for another 28 days or so.
amazon has/had them for $150 today for an hour or so....dont know if they have em now
There was a rumour going around it would be £430 sim-free from Phones 4U on release, but I can confirm that it costs £530 and £500 if you but a pay-as-you-go sim with it.
I was holding out for the £430 deal so I'm screwed now - so who has the cheapest sim-free deals in the UK?
If you're willing to do some legwork-
O2 contract comes with
50 mins/250 texts/100mb data for £13.50pm + £179 upfront.
Take out this contract and remove the data bolt on making it £10.50pm. Through TCB you get £50.50 cashback. £10.50 x 24 months= £252 + £179= £431 (- £50.50 cashback) = £380.50 over 2 years.
The phone comes unlocked from o2. You can cancel the contract and technically you wouldn't have to pay VAT on the remaining £252 so it'd leave you around £200 to pay off to cancel the contract. (o2 might not agree to take off vat meaning you'd have to pay the full £252) Or you can use the sim as an extra for light use (pay £10.50 every month for 24 months)
Extra-
Might be worth waiting till easter weekend as o2 might remove the £179 upfront cost like they did last year with the Desire S.
If you know someone who works at o2 they can add a 30% discount per month so it'd be £7.35pm not £10.50pm. (£305 with cashback over 2 years)
About £490 delivered with Handtec.
Sim free
Carphone warehouse has it for £479.99 sim free and website is showing it as in stock. Mines being delivered to the store around 1pm today!

Cheers, I can't figure out how to remove the bolt-on though?...
Also does anyone know anyone working for O2 who can get me a discount? ;p
*EDIT* Wait, if you cancel your contract early you have to pay £345? £345 + £179 (the cost of the phone) = £524?

Nope, how it works is. You sign up online through topcashback http://www.topcashback.co.uk/o2/
It will track and £50.50 and will be paid into an account of your choice within 6 weeks (do not cancel the contract before the £50.50 is payable)
You go for the £13.50 deal which includes a data bolt on for £3 for 100mb.
When you get the contract/phone you can remove it from the o2 website account page or call up customer services and get them to do it. That way you will be paying £10.50 a month for a sim card and the phone. The £179 is taken upfront straight away.
Now you have two options. Either to spread the cost of the phone out by just paying £10.50 every month. Or cancelling (after TCB has paid you the £50.50) by ringing up o2 customer services. I got my figures wrong for cancelling the contract early. it would actually be much less if o2 allow the 20% vat off thingy (because you haven't used the contract). However i've heard reports that o2 have stopped doing this now. so it might be better to just stick with the monthly cost. You could try cancelling early. But i'd only say go for it if the agree to let 20% off the £252 you'd pay over 2 years.
Hope that makes sense^
Also, the phone comes unlocked. + i've edited my post above to reflect the cancellation price.
+ Wait till easter weekend. last year o2 had an easter sale where they reduced the upfront costs from £179 down to £0 on select handsets. If the One X/even the One S is one of those handsets this year then i'd say go for it.
I'm pretty happy with the deal I got. Over here, the lowest sim free price was €610 and the lowest prepay price was €519 from Three.
So... I decided to shop around and managed to get the phone for €269 on a 12 month (€20 per month) contract. So that's a round total of €509 with 12 months worth of phone service.
579 euro in Germany on 4 days before launch date (april 2nd)
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
€519 from Three on prepay.
420 Euro + 30 Euro connection charge
1 year
100 minutes
unlimited SMS
1 GB data @ 14 Mbps
Pre-orderred it for 560 euros.
Got mine for 36000 INR
I know conversions don't work like this, but still:
36000 INR (India) == 704 US$ == 443 British Pounds == 537 Euros
And yeah, that's a sim free phone.
I got my phone from O2 UK I paid £179.99 on a 24 month £10.50 contract so it works out....
£179.99 + £252 (full contract) - £60 cashback (Via Top CashBack) - £50.40 VAT (for paying full contract early) = £321.59 for the phone.
I did the same when i bought my GS2 last year, i got that for less than £300.
