Using TW it always detects the s pen being detached and shows in the notification. I can switch to Apex and its show the s pen detached for a bit. But after some time detaching the s pen no longer shows in notification. It still makes the detach sound. I can have it pop notes as well, but no notification. Tripple checked all the settings.
You can switch over to TW and it will detect it again, switch back over to Apex. Apex does detect it for a bit but then fails after a short time.
Anyone else notice this? Dont know if its just Apex or if it happens on other launchers?
Update: It look like it cannot survive a reboot. As soon as I reboot, Apex fails to detect the S Pen detached.
Edit: came back to say it seems to time itself out, but notice you've updated your post to say the same. This is really wierd.
I hadn't noticed this until you pointed it out, but I hadn't used TouchWiz very long before installing nova prime as my launcher.
Since I wasn't quite sure what you were talking about with the S pen appearing in the notification bar, I switched over to TouchWiz as my launcher, then pulled out the S pen and got the notification.
While the notification was showing in the notification bar, I then opened nova launcher from the app drawer, and the notification for the S pen was still there. I put the S pen away and the notification disappeared. I then pulled out the S pen and the notification appeared again, so it appears to be working properly for me now.
You may want to try doing the same sequence of steps to see if it then starts working for you. This may not survive a reboot, but it's easy enough to get going again based on what I just did by accident. Good luck!

okay so I've had this problem a few times on 2 different G2s
not sure what happens but the phone seems to trick it's self into thinking its still in landscape mode even though its in portrait and I end up with a black screen though I can see the notification bar and can even drag it down and see it so I know the screen isn't turning off and if I open the keyboard i can only see the very right side of the screen or what would be the bottom if it were in portrait mode yet the notification bar seems to work. It usually happens when I close the keyboard. It's not a huge problem as I can just hold the power button down to bring up the "power down, airplane mode, silent mode" screen up and that fixes it. I managed to get it to happen and was able to grab some screen shots. Anybody else have this problem?
I used to see that same issue on my G1 with ADW Launcher installed
ya it happens to me using the adw launcher... i think it is just a rendering issue. also if you use adw launcher you notice the pull down shade doesn't cover the very top when pulled down? just launcher glitches still runs like a champ now that i use temp root. beautiful thing about temp root is that unlike the g1 you don't have to reboot this thing every 8 hrs lol.... i do it just cause i feel like i'm still using my g1.. autostart kills all those damn google apps that run. setcpu is running great. no oc obviously but now you can throttle it... wireless tether plus they have it on a 3 click apk that you can use. SDk/adb knowledge needed though for it...
I've noticed there is no longer a way to expand the notifications... so they take up more than one slot when the status bar is pulled down. Some notifications like single emails are automatically expanded.
My phone is not rooted and I don't really want to root it for something so small.
I'm using Nova launcher prime. Is there a way to make all notifications expanded?? I've tried pulling down on the notification with one finger and two fingers at a time but it's not working.
I don't think its possible without root+xposed.
My watch was working perfectly before the 5.1.1 update, but ever since the update, it is slow to wake, unable to swipe away cards from the watch face without opening them, the touch sensitivity is TERRIBLE....have to swipe over and over to get it to register, and for notifications I am unable to select "ALL"...can only select "priority" and "none".
Is anyone else having these problems?
5.1.1 problems are being discussed here if you're not aware:

No problem in starting a new thread, though.

I noticed that the touch screen seems derpy to me too. Something is definitely weird with the toggle shade thingy. I'm having the same problem with selecting "all". You can get it, but you have to find the exact spot below and to the left and tap frantically like a dozen times. I reccomend using the test app in developer settings and open the touch test. It will display a small grid and it will trace all your touches. Don't worry if it says fail. Just notice whether or not its tracking your finger. To get it to pass you have to turn the lines green by swiping in a certain direction. Mine tracks perfectly so, for me at least, the hardware is fine. Definitely a software issue.

Yesterday I installed the Android M preview on my phone, and so I had to do a reset on my watch. Now all of the touchscreen wonkiness has gone away, and it's working fine!
Before I was unable to get the app list to appear by swiping from the right, but only by tapping once. Also, I couldn't swipe in the center of the screen in the mode selector shade, but only above or below the row of icons. Now that's all working as well.
I notice sometimes when I'm in a game or any app really I'll get a notification and for a split second the notification doesn't fully load at top. Here's a screen shot to show you what I'm talking about. I also just put it side by side my other note that I'm returning and got the same notification while same app open and it didn't do it on the other note. Wtf.
I have the sane issue. It gets really annoying
I figured out the problem!!! Wow. I turned off nova accessibility and it fixed both the keyboard lag and the laggy notification pop up and I still have all animations off. Tested the notifications using an app that would constantly cause it to lag and only pop halfway down(not fully load)and 4 straight times even while in a game didn't cause it. So the verdict is 100% nova accessibility causing both notification and keyboard lag.
thanks man, I am waiting for my replacement, I use nova
I don't use nova, but I am having both of the stated issues. Any suggestions on how to fix? Thank ya
Open a website, start scrolling and suddenly it won't move. Pull down the notification bar slightly and I can continue to scroll again. Probably a 120hz setting compatibility issue but curious if anyone else has this problem too?

Seen that too but also in Play app

Have it too. Seems like I either wait an undetermined time for it to unfreeze or pull down the notification bar to unfreeze it.
Well, glad I'm not the only one, although it's really annoying when it happens.

Mine also does that many times but that's more like the chrome's problem since the phone itself runs smoothly in every other app.
I believe I'm getting the same issue in other apps as well. I'll be scrolling, but if I press the home or back button on the navigation bar, it will lock up for like 20 seconds before something crashes. The common error is that System UI has stopped responding. Been having this issue, and quite frankly, it's making me want to give iPhones a try again...
That's not all. It opens some sites for a very long time 1-2 minutes, while in the same time as a Samsung Browser it opens in 5-10 seconds. It is very strange.
I use Brave rather than Chrome but get it here as well. Only in Brave though. I normally swipe back to home screen and go back in to unfreeze it.
