[Q] Sound Volume CNS ROM 1.5.1? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey friends I wanted to put CNS 1,5.1 ROM into my phone (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1336) . However I just wanted to know if the volume of the speaker is better than the original stock because I found that too low. Also I just wanted to know what would be an apt ROM to flash if my requirements were good battery life, loud sound and interface which is something different nd looks great,.. thanx in advance
P.S I couldnt ask in the cns thread coz I have less than 10 posts so I posted my question here..

I don't know if this phone is like my previous LG Optimus 2X but it also was like that, on Stock ROMS the speaker was way louder than on CyanogenMod based ROMS, try using a stock based ROM or install Volume+ from the Play Store it helps with the speaker volume. (Be careful with Volume+ and don't put the value too high or else the sound may be distorted.)
i've already tried the volume+ with no luck, i think its related to the speakers drivers in sense stock rom, and am looking for an advanced help to be brought to CM10, hope anyone from the dev team to find a real fix for this.
probably due to a proprietary driver in the tegra that is closed source... android is an open source software for closed source handset...

[Q] Volume too quiet after JB upgrade

I've been using Lightweight ICS ROM for a while and just recently decided to try SuperNexus JB ROM. I do like the SuperNexus ROM, however, the volume (for everything) is definitely not at the same level it was before (I can't post the question in the thread directly since I need 10 posts) but I'm not 100% sure it's due to the ROM either, since I've only seen a couple other complaints about volume in that thread.
I'm not sure what's causing the issue, I do know that Lightweight was packaging Beats Audio with it, and I don't believe SuperNexus does, but neither did the stock ROM, which sounded fine. I've tried using Volume+ to boost the volume, but its "booster" makes it even quieter. I've been trying to search for solution but haven't found anything useful yet, aside from complaints about low volume on Nexus devices and a audio fix for Nexus 7 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889522), which caused my device to enter a bootloop. Some posts I've read suggest this might be a kernel issue, in which case I'm confused why other users of the same ROM aren't experiencing it. Does anyone know of a fix?
Thanks
Try this from Bilgerryan.

You'll find it in the op of the "One Stop JB" thread here

Supposed to be universal for Touchwhiz or AOSP:thumbup:

[Q] [4.2.2] PARANOIDANDROID v3.60 | HALO |

Hello guys i have few questions about this rom from WoH, at the moment i am using 4.2.2 rom based on CM 10.1 from VJ, but his version will not have update soon, so i decide to check install new rom from my topic. I have few question if You can answer it will be nice:
*1* Does work properly the sound of messages? For VJ roms i usually use low sound fixer, but without luck. So rom have any issuess about sound? Works fine? Sound is loud and i can hear the sms sound? (Everybody who have VJ rom know about this problem)
*2* Does work the headset or earphones without any problem? (Now when i plug in my headset i always have soft reboot)
*3*Can You compare to VJ rom based on CM 10.1? (Speed, performance, battery drain, soft reboots etc.)
*4*It is possible to disable HOLO - i mean thing like quick menu
*5*Could You write Pros and cons of the WoH rom? Any problems issuess and possible fix or some tips?
Thank You guys!

Easiest way would be to nandroid backup your current rom, then install this ROM and try it out for yourself.
1 - don't know
2 - don't know
3 - this will be very different for different people and setups, again you are the best judge based on your setup and usage, not someone else's
4 - yes, I use PA on my nexus 7. It's disabled by default I believe.
5 - pros and cons will be quite subjective, read the thread to see what's working and other people's responses. Again you'll be the best judge if you install it.

Well, thanks, but You don't help me so much. I found on the forum few things, at first i want to compare to HTC DESIRE in DESIRE thread not to Nexus 7 or any other device. For example few things work perfect on nexus 4, not on Desire like Camera. About pros and cons it will be for example, good performance, but fast battery drain. Many other things. So You don't know so much. I ask people which got experience with HTC Desire and have this rom on this phone.
So BUMP please

The ROM is still a port, and I've used it for a different device true. However Halo is part of the ROM, and it can be disabled. Other things can be found out by reading the thread, or better yet....just installing it and trying it.

I may not have experience in that exact ROM, but trust me I know enough to help you as I have helped many other people here
"Good performance, but fast battery drain" is subjective....how exactly do you define "good" or "fast" in this case? Some people define good as "stable...but has a few random reboots", but is this ok for you? Others don't mind lag, but might find it good as it's latest android with a few more features.
Fast battery drain varies massively depending on how you use the device, no two people use them the same way. You have not told us how you even use your device, and what you define to be "good" or "fast battery drain"
From bumping it, you could get some replies from a limited number of users. Some saying it's AMAZING / LAGGY / OK, some saying it has amazing battery / poor battery / suitable for medium / light / heavy usage...but you have no idea how they use their phone, how many ROMs they've tried for comparison, or the age of their battery etc. And again their perception of good or fast battery drain is different from yours. You may think getting 'reviews' from others is useful, but I'm merely warning you they can be very misleading for various reasons
In all this time you have waited for replies...you could have easily made a nandroid backup and just tried the ROM yourself. This is always the best way of testing for your usage and setup like I said, not from other people with completely different usage...then you make up your own mind and see if it's suitable for you
If you don't like it, you have a nandroid backup to go back to, so I don't see why you're waiting...
Well, You suggest to better install before ask about sth. At the moment imo i am using a good rom. I create topic to not spam thread in developers section. I have time to change rom, but i want to do it in future. Some people, used other roms and maybe have experience and they can share opinions.
So at the moment few questions:
- is here in WoH roms a soft reboots? How often?
- as i know all JB roms got problems with camera, what about recording? In VJ rom my video playback, which i record is lagged and broken, what with WoH rom?
- there is some issuess with headset or earphones, when You plug into the phone?
- is here a low sound notification problem? Any fix?
I am asking, because i don't want to spend time to testing, i can install or sth, but not have too much time for reinstalling and finding the best one. Few questions give me an answer what i am looking for
For me it is better to ask, than shouting about problem.

[Q] question about cm-12-Official -NIGHTLY-n5110 -please be patientts :)

first of all, good morning, I'm Colombian, trying to understand everything with my 75% handling English, always follow the forum to experiment with some of my equipment such as usr, there are actually some things that are not very clear to me,believeme i have read and re read , and i dont find a clear answer, I hope u may have patience in the response, sorry if the question does not match,i did not want to ask to the developer directlly in the tread of the room,
I own a galaxy note 8 wifi gt-N5110, I decided to try CM12 because in stock room , the Ram and battery managment are terrible, besides what I have it working on my Motorola and works perfect, one question, because I find comments of all kinds, rather evasive and confused in the threads but nothing clear. since the stock room 4,4,2 KK had support to move applications to external sd, means that it is possible. I understand that the room is under development , the nigthlly still missing many improvements. but will be better every day, but it will be implemented? is within CM´s team plans for N5110 give support to move applications to the SD ext? why almost all the excelent rooms i have try , have the same little (very important for me)
small oblivion , thanks for a clear answer and patience.

Speaker problem in CyanogenMod 12 !!!!

After flashing CyanogenMod sound from the phone speakers are like its going to break , so distorted , vibrating , speaker side gets hot little ; any way to solve this. Please help............
Check CM12 Q&A thread. I don't have current info of this problem, but it sounds like the same audio problem that was in CM12 earlier this year. Basically the audio level is too loud so it crackles.

thanx for the reply but this problem still exists in carbon rom also ,, i flashed dolby audio and changed the speaker volume to stock the sound problem is reduced to some extent
Both those ROMs are using the same kernel so they probably share the same bugs. The audio problem is listed as a known bug in the 1st post in the Carbon thread. It also looks like the guy doing the porting has stopped working on it so I really don't know why you're wasting your time on it.
Thangs let's wait for the stable release of cm12
