I get some emails with jpeg files in them. If I want to view them, in K9 it gives a choice to view or save. I can not view because the only two programs that it gives me the choice of are rockplayer and esvideo player. If I save then I can open with picture viewer. Is there to set the default for jpeg files to be the program of my choice?

All defaults are handled from here: [Menu - Settings - Applications - Manage Applications] and you click on the application. Once in you can click "Clear defaults" if any are set.
However, sounds like nothing is set to default cause it is giving you a choice. Not sure where the stock picture viewer is but might try dl a viewer from the market then selecting it as default for those type of files. Should work then.
I'm using K9 as well and pictures open up fine without having to save them.

Most do just ones that jpeg it is recognized as a video rather than a picture. Have a viewer will look to see if it gives me a choice of extensions to choose from. I tried opening it with the native email program and it opened fine just not with K9.

Have you tried Quickpic from the Market? Good pic viewer.
Did you change your gallery default settings?
I found some cool wallpapers. How can I copy these wallpaer to my Galaxy Nexus? What is the location of wallpapers and is there any special method of transfer? I will appreciate your help.
Just put them on your phone somewhere using USB then open them in the gallery and use the menu to set them as wallpaper.

Thanks fro your advice but the problem is that you have to crop the image when you try use any image from gallery. I was looking for the path or location of wallpapers on the phone so that I just copy jpeg files.
I downloaed new galaxy s3 wallpapers and wanted to use them.
I think if you download "QuickPic" from the market...
Long press your homescreen and select wallpaper>quickpic you can drag the sliders to the full image.
Jubakuba, thanks. Quickpic did the job.

The "cropping" in the Gallery doesn't actually downsize it if you go to the full size, it just shows what you'll actually see when taking away the top/bottom bars.
Hi!
installed somes apps, copied some music, etc.
now those images (e.g. albumart / coverart) appear in the album, so it's very bloated with a lot of undesired images.
how can i exclude certain folders from being visible in the album? tried it already with a ".nomedia"-file in those folders, but this doesn't seem to work.
any ideas?
thanks & have a nice day.
There is a .NOMEDIA file in the demovideo folder. Copy that file to the folders you don't want to get indexed, then clear the cache of the album app. Reboot your phone and your set.

*bump*
sorry, as i didn't find a solution yet...
Use Quickpic app to hide any folders you don't want the album to see. It works fine.

Is it posible that there´s a Problem with the .nomedia file in your xperia z?
Example:
I´ve a .nomedia File in the WhatsApp Media Directory. Right after the creation of that .nomedia file, everything is fine, the Pictures are hidden in the Album app. I´m recieving a Picture in whatsapp, Album app also Shows it, also after reboot!

USE QUICKPIC please. It is (so far) the only quick solution.
You do not need a .nomedia file under your music directory. You do however need to rename the album/cover art jpg files to AlbumArt.jpg (not cover.jpg or other filename), and Sony's Album app will automatically exclude those images.
You will still need to clear the media cache.

Bravia engine not working with quickpic
I've noticed Bravia Engine doesn't kick in when viewing images with QuickPic. Is there a way it enable it?
As I understand it, the .nomedia file doesn't work with JB 4.2+
Check StudioKuma .nomedia manager on PlayStore

Well, I just downloaded an icon pack and added a single period in front of the name of the unpacked folder. This makes the folder hidden. It no longer shows on my album or my widget for that matter.

use gallery pro
The .nomedia solution works perfectly fine for me. However it will not exclude stuff that is already in the album so you need to clear the data of the Media Storage (Settings --> Apps --> All --> Media Storage) app. It will mean that it will need to rescan your phone however, but it will correctly exclude any directory with the .nomedia file in it.
This works on XZ and it also worked on my old SGS3 running CM10.1 (JB 4.2.2)

No, be is part of the stock album app.

Quickpic hides them from both galleries. If they're still in your album after you've hidden them, then you either need to reboot or if you've stopped media scanner you have to scan media to ensure they're no longer shown in album app.
Quick pic works perfectly on Z I use it to hide all my wallpapers from the gallery ;-p
It's a good way of seeing what your pictures REALLY look like without Bravia shenanigans also lol
Hi
I have a strange problem when setting the wallpaper.
I have this picture postimg.org/image/3umjabsi5/ on my sd card. If i try to set it as wallpaper this is what I get: postimg.org/image/3xtc6dcux/
But if I upload this picture on some storage site and then I set it as wallpaper from my browser (next browser) I get a much better result: postimg.org/image/bpa24xh09/ The image looks just like on my monitor.
Where is the problem? I'd like to set the wallpaper from my sd card and get the right quality.

It's all about the image viewer.
The image viewer of ES File Explorer is not as good as the file explorer. I'm still using ES but now I changed the default image viewer for the Camera Snap Gallery(the stock samsung gallery is just as good). Everything is fine now.
follow this
look its depend on the resolution some time when we set up a wallpapres we cropped just a portrait and not as his real heigh so try to crop it in a diferet way crop it with the google photos... and see if you get any good result!:good::good::good:

The stock editor is good enough. Just have a picture at least 1080x960px.
My picture gallery is filled with 100s of album covers from my music library. How do I remove these from the Gallery (apart from going through them one by by one which will take forever)?

you should be able to isolate the folder that they come from and disable that folder from showing up in your gallery. If you are unable to do so, then I would suggest using Quickpic which is a far better program than gallery anyway. Look in the settings for gallery to see if that option exists.

a .nomedia file in the root of the music folder might do the trick. However depending upon what music program you use it might also make the music "disappear" from view.
