Hello,
I am having a bunch of issues with reception/call echo issues while using all JB roms. I wanted to know if formatting my internal sd card and reinstalling a jb rom would help with my issues? I've never reformatted the internal sd card before because i'm worried about bricking my phone/wiping out files needed in my OS. What i really want is to clean up my internal sd card and only have files that are needed to flash a new zip/rom. Can anyone give me specific instructions on how to format internal sd card while still being able to put a rom back on my internal sd card so that i can flash roms like before. Thanks
You really don't need to format your internal storage. Try just wiping/formatting data, wipe cache, formatting system, then flash your ROM again. Let me know if that solves the problem

I want to format (delete) my internal SD. Will this delete my current ROM? Is there a better way to do this? Thanks for any help...
Make sure you back up your info onto your computer. Your from is already installed as a daily driver. So if you format your internal memory, it will still be operational. But if you go into CWM and factory reset, then it may go back to stock or just be stuck in a boot loop, I've had both things happen to me.
So what if I were just to hook up to pc & delete all files on that drive? Would that be better?
I do that so I could have control and better view of my files. So that is a decent option to do too.
In CWM, go to mounts & storage, and then you can format whatever. The internal sd is called sd card, and external sd card is called emmc, pretty sure.

This info is correct. This is the other route you could go also to format your internal SD card.
Hi Guys,
What will happen if I format my sd(internal memory)? Will it cause problems for the rom?
SD
You will loose all data/programs on the sd card.
ROMS are stored in the internal phone memory which you do not have access through unless through recovery or through apps like Root Explorer Format your SD all you want, your ROM will still work.
I want to format my internal Sd card so that flashing roms becomes less buggy. I use the newest CWM recovery. What steps do i need to take to format internal sd but still able to flash a zip from CWM recovery. Thanks everyone

i just installed cynogenmod 10 on my galaxy w today
when i checked the storage, it appears to be 2 internal storage partition.
i installed some apps, then move them to SD card when there is no SD card on my phone.
so, the apps goes from the default internal storage to the other partition.
when i mounted my SD card, 3 partition appears, the 2 internal partition and an SD card partition,
the SD card partition is greyed out.
I repeated repeat the same process of moving apps from phone to SD card but still, there isnt any change on the SD card when i checked it on my comp.
the apps still goes to the other partition of internal storage
anyone has idea to solve this issue?
Thanks
i have the some probleme :/
With CM10 this is normal. If you want your external micro SD card to be used as phone storage, download and flash the ROM in this link.....
http://www.mediafire.com/?aah2qbpolod24q6
It is a modified version of ARCO's CM10 (alpha 6 kernel 3) that has the vold fstab (storage mounts) already swapped. (modification courtesy of Temenalie)
Flash it as normal (wipe data, cache and dalvic. Flash ROM and gapps) then reinstall your apps and move them to SD card.....job done.....
Just make sure that the micro SD card has been inserted into the phone BEFORE you flash the ROM.

You know, if you're using TWRP, you can just copy vold.fstab from the External SD into /system

On microSD card. When you do a Factory Reset all your personal data on internal memory will be wiped.
