I have an extended battery (2600). I was wondering, what does everyone do to get the most out of their extended battery if you have one? I'm hoping to get tips and or tricks from my fellow EVO users. If you have nothing positive to say, please don't post.. Any help is appreciated.

Are you rooted?
I use the stock battery on my rooted Evo and it lasts all day.
It really does depend on weather your rooted or not cuz on my stock battery I can go about a day in a half maybe a couple hours less MAYBE but then I have a Seidio 3500 mAh that can go exactly 2 days 1 hour and 38 minutes with heavy heavy use and also on a charge of 93 percent
So again are you rooted?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712990 check that thread, ever since i followed the steps my battery life is so much better. its been off the charger since midnight and i browsed fb for like 30 minutes, texted my wife n browsed the market for a bit and its only down to 89%. btw im using the stock battery.

Not really lol I think that's pretty good I'm guessing that you got that with moderate/heavy use?
You may wanna give another ROM a shot and see cuz battery life may very between them. As well as kernels.

Any stock kernel will not charge any extended battert correctly. I experimented with this for the last month.
I found an app called boot manager and now have 4 roms installed on my phone. At night I boot into a Froyo ROM with a SBC kernel and charge it, then in the am, boot into my Gingerbread ROM.

Yep. If I don't use my phone it will last all day and lose about 1.5% every two hours. I just recently switched to my current setup and am still not used to it. I'll unplug my phone at ~95% and head out the door. I'll pull it out of my pocket a number of hours later and see that it's only down to about 93% - 92%. Before I switched my setup I would've been down the low 80's if not lower. When I use it my battery depends on what I am doing with it and what I have my scaling set to. Using my phone for things like texting, facebook, email, and some web browsing on Skyfire, which is what I would consider heavy use, it goes down about 3.5% per hour. Yesterday I went to my little niece's dance class and I used my phone to record video of her entire 60 minute dance class. Battery went down about 30% percent from that but that's to be expected. I remained out of the house for another 8 hours after her class and my phone still had 50% battery left by the time I got home. Wireless tether eats up my battery. But Thats because I am usually tethering while texting and testing launchers and such on my phone.
I do all of this on a stock battery. So I can only imagine how much I'd be able to do with an extended battery.
I get 30+ hours on my extended battery 2600 from sprint. LOL on warm 2.2

is there another rom with stock touchwiz that have better battery life?
or is it possible that is my phone?

you can also just ignore it. it doesn't mean you have less battery time. it is just a measure of voltage. pretty meaningless. you'll notice that when that happens it will slow decreasing further and even increase as it continues to measure voltage.

Honestly? Skip FH13 and go straight to FI03. People are reporting MUCH better battery - at FI03 and moderate use I've burned through 43% after 8 hours - and that's with a 10 minute screen timeout! (Good thing it's doing better, I forgot the charge cable today)

So you have had that issue on FI03?
hell i installed FI03 already im going to check out if its better
do you recomend me to still with ICS or go back to GB?
Try fully charging and draining a few times..
I (sadly) had GB till last week, and had very good bat. life. few days ago, playing catchup, I flashed few ISC and JB roms, and my bat. life was absolutely horrible. To top it off, I didn't even have a wall charger, anyway today I think I'm getting better battery life. Few things about what i did,
Im on Dark_Knight's CM10 RC0, FH13, the one's I had before were CM9 (don rem which), CM10 alpha 5.3, and the official OTA update from sprint (4.0.4 - with i think it was FH13 modem)
Fully charged, wiped battery cache and left it to charge
Charged it with wall-plug
You might just need to fully charge it with the wall, I kinda overcharged it, without unplugging it, and It was on 99% for longer than an hour. Which means the battery reporting was off. I think the problem might have been that it didnt really fully charge eventhough it said bat. was 100%.
*I know people say batt. cache wipes doesnt do anything, but I am pretty sure from what I have seen it atleast doesn't get reset when you charge 100% as some claims..

Sounds like something is eating up your battery. Try downloading BetterBatteryStats app. Fully charge the phone, unplug it and leave it for a while (about 1 hour). Then open the app to see what exactly is eating up your battery. You could post the BBS screenshots so we could help. Hope it works out for you.
EDIT: Besides that, you should post more info. Were you using the phone (playing games, browsing, videos) during those 3 hours or it was idle?
I noticed the same thing happening to me once, it turned out to be picasa trying to sync, using my google ID, but I don't use picasa. I was seeing 50-60% drain in four hours while idle. Check your sync settings.
When it happened it showed android system was using over 60%, battery.
I was having this issue. I could charge my phone to 100% unplug and go to sleep and 8 hours later it would be at like 10% i tried everything i mean everything even tried airplane mode it still drained. Put a custom jelly bean rom on it. Now my battery lasts all day. I just cant wait for

For me battery has been great but a few times i noticed its gets very hot and when i checked the CPU both cores were lit up at max speed draining my battery, after some googling a found this thread which explains the gsiff daemon is the culprit after a hot reboot.
No one has found what the gsiff daemon is for or what causes the ho reboot, but the solution is just use root explorer and rename the daemon so it does not run.
Have all of you having trouble with battery drain still tried looking at the term "deep sleep"? You can check that with an app called cpu spy. If your having that issue with the phone not deep sleeping, report back and i will post some ideas.
With those who do say they have deep sleep issues, post the ROM, and kernel you are on.

so lately i noticed my battery dieing super fast. the only thing i can think of it since att expanded lte in my area i basically get lte everywhere now and since then my cell standby is at 60% or higher my phone lasts about 6 to 8 hours now its very annoying... before lte it lasted a ton longer it could be a coincidence but its very frustrating if this is the cause because its pretty ridiculous
Post some screenshots of the battery so we can see more of what's going on.
If you flashed multiple ROMs on low battery then you may need to recalibrate. I did it with my GS3 and I wish I would have known about it when I had the S and S2. Download the BatteryCalibration app from the market and follow the instructions on it. I noticed I was losing battery life bad, but after this I got it back up to stock levels which is amazing.

I have faced the similar issue as your. After 3 days of constant inspection with various apps I figured out the process causing this problem.
Go to developer options and click on show cpu usage. If the top process is "gsiff daemon" then you have found the culprit. Download system tuner and kill the process and you can see that the cpu usage will go back to normal and your phone will deep sleep afterwards.
Bone stock, not rooted or rommed.
My battery life used to be phenomenal. I would check at the end of basically every day and averaged 4-8 hours of actual Screen On time. The Screen would account for 40-55% of the usage, followed by all of the*apps*that I had used that day. Android System and Android OS would be pretty far down on the list.*
Now that I have 4.1.2, I'm lucky to hit 3 hours of Screen On time. And now Screen, Android System, and Android OS are accounting for 20% EACH.
I haven't changed any settings or the way that I used the phone. The only thing that has changed is the update.*Is anybody else experiencing this?
I've gotten bettery battery life since 4.1.2, significantly better. Try to perform a factory reset or it could be a faulty device.

Yep and I have more or less tried everything including tweaks galore, every suggestion I coukd find, and freezing several dozen apps.
Nothing can be done about this and my guess is Samsung have made an absolute mess of the update. My HTC loses maybe 1% overnight on a bad day, this loses way over 10%.
I'll prob end up switching back to 4.1.1 but unfortunately it doesnt have the tap to reflow feature in the browser (which I use a lot)... I wonder if I can remove it via titanium and restore the newer version which would have reflow on 4.1.1 ??
I have the same problem. As soon as I took my phone off the charger this morning it dropped to 99%. On 4.1.1 it used to last for a good 20 minutes before dropping to 99%. Also last night after about 6 hours of screen time Android System was at the top of my list. And that is with 20 or so system apps frozen or deleted from running.
What's the easiest way to go back to 4.1.1?

Well I dunno.. I have tried everything and there is definitely a battery drain issue. If it is caused by ebay/whatsapp + facebook, then I'm curious as to why they don't show up in battery usage or betterbatterystats... and I'm also curious why the exact same setup on my HTC EVO 3D does cause these horrendous idle battery drains.

Yeah already done all that and there doesnt actually seem to be anything using over like 5%.. I have elimated the higher one yet it still drains ovwr 10% at nite. Or in general idleness.
What I became accustomed to with my previous phones was 0% or 1% drain over many hours if the screen was off. Not 2% or more an hour.

That's specifically my DBT rom (stock everything as well) and I've had battery issues and to be honest, it's still better than most other phones, but I'm getting about 40% less life out of my device now.
I have flashed again, I've reset, and deleted everything and still no luck. It's something with the ROM. I hope the next update will fix it. If it doesn't, I'll revert back to 4.1.1 because I would go to bed with 50% battery life, now I have to charge in the middle of the day if I want to get through a long work day with lots of use.

I used to get around 24 hours(7am to 7am) on a charge(unplug in the morning before work, go out at night, not plug it in at all, then the next morning on my way home plug the phone back in with a few % of battery left), then all of the sudden it was down to being dead in 7-8 hours(7am to 2-3pm).
a few days ago, I installed the Snapdragon BatteryGuru, and that has gotten my phone to around 9-10(7am to 4-5pm) hours of run time, but still very terrible compared to what the phone was getting.
any tips for how I can figure out what is causing this faster drain?
thanks in advance

hey guys, recently with my Rogers S3, my battery life has become terrible, and I would like to figure out why.

Did your phone ship to you with 4.1.1 or did you recently update to that?
Try installing better battery stats. Looks like some rogue app is running amok.

i updated to 4.1.1 myself, but I did that back when it first released, in december, battery performance has only been bad for a couple weeks now.
and okay, just installed better battery stats now, what exactly am I looking for in it?

You'll have to let it run for a while but it will say what's draining your battery.

Post some screenies of kernel wakelocks and partial wakelocks after letting it run without you using it for a few hours. Come back here and post the screenies and we can help. I can't decipher much on those but those who can want those to go off of.

Process and Alarms as well (if rooted).
heres the better battery stats screenshots.
the alarms one with 225 wakeups is the snapdragon battery app, which has increased my battery life since installing...
that okay, or do you guys need a longer timeframe?

Looks like its searching for signal, Samsung account sync maybe, and Google is syncing something. I'm not good reading those...but what's syncing under your accounts menu ?
So sec.spp.push is Samsung account push notifications... At 225 wake locks yuck. Unsync that, turn off other ones like Facebook or ibaaw groupon on there.
