That's not the .62 firmware. If you don't have a Verzion (R800x) PLAY, don't use that file
ah ok, id downloaded it from the CM9 Thread so i thought it would be that file

EDIT:: I just solved the issue .. 7zipped the ftf .. then created two bundle, one consists of all files except system.sin and other one only with system.sin .. flashed both .ftf one after another and it worked .. running 4.0.2.A.0.42 and with root .. ..
check no final verification box.. before flashing :
I got the same error while trying to flash stock firmware on an Xperia Tipo device.
I opened the ftf file with 7zip and tried to extract the content. 7zip showed an error in the system.sin file that otherwise was invisible since the file size was correct.
I re-downloaded the ftf from another source and everything worked perfectly.
Hope this helps!

Can not Repack SYSTEM.SIN ?

Hi
I use Flashtool to extract SYSTEM.SIN and ext2explore to extract SYSTEM.EXT4. After delete some APK, I repack again SYSTEM.EXT4.
I want to repack SYNSTEM.sin from SYSTEM.EXT4. It's possible?

If bootloader locked, flash using Sony Update Service.
If bootloader unlocked, try to flash again with flashtool or flash a kernel with CWM using fastboot and flash a ROM in CWM recovery.

Just a note, simlock.ta is ignored always and it has nothing to with phone's firmware. This is not the cause to your phone being bricked.

The recent Flashtool are not compatible with Xperia 2011 devices.

Are you sure you ICS rom is not corrupted ?
Check this : All Stock Firmwares for Xperia Arc S
Read this tutorial to help you : [TUTORIAL] HOW TO FLASH STOCK ROMs WITH FLASHTOOL
As @M0umou said, you will need to get an older version of Flashtool from here (Windows | Linux | Mac) and continue on. I've got a .ftf of the Arc S .587 on my Google Drive so in case you can't flash with yours just download it from here.
