Well, I have been trying to use Tegrak since they said it was updated for this phone. I kept getting error messages but I think they did another update. You can overclock to 1.452. Anything above and you need the paid version. I am on the stock kernel now. If this is already known, I apologize. I haven't seen it mentioned. I can imagine what 1.6 would look like. Time to push it up a bit..

What voltages are you using? I have no problems at 1.56 at 1.375V. I didn't touch internal voltage. I haven't tried to go any higher. I was basically just playing around with it for a few minutes.

yup. Although this thing is such a beast I dont see a need to OC it, UV to save battery, yes I actually have mine underclocked to 1.1ghz and undervolted -50 across the board and I notice no dip in performance so far, this thing is still buttery smooth and fast

to chime in, I know most kernels with UV built in usually do -50, so if you did a -50 across the board you should be ok. Some speeds you can get away with more but if you UV too much it will lock up. I think the higher speeds you can actually UV a **little** more than -50, maybe -75 but it really depends on your chip
I really wonder how they do this on the stock kernel. It's the first I've seen that will allow you to OC/UV without a custom kernel..
Oh and OP: I think you should add more to the thread title.. like "Tegrak - Overclock/Undervolt on stock kernel!!!" I think it would get a lot more hits

Yeah, underclocking can help on the already great battery life and if you are a speed demon, this app does that as well. I usually just test to see if I got a strong phone or not.

Has anyone else tried? What are your thoughts so far? I've underclocked to 1.1 and UV -75 across the board. Havent been able to see if it makes a difference in battery life yet or not.

hehe like I said in on of the other posts. If you change the thread title I'm sure it will get a lot more hits. If people see "Tegrak: Overclock/Undervolt stock kernel" They would click faster than if they just see "Tegrak" just a suggestion though
root?
I apologize in advanced if this has commented anywhere else.
My guess is this requires root, and that the comments about stock kernel are in regards to root + stock kernel.
Just to keep the doubts out, does this require root?
Again, I apologize if this is said in advanced. Probably checking the app reqs would answer this question. Just commenting it as it may prove useful for me and for others as well.

I would LOVE to give this Tegrak thingy a try but I am somewhat confused on what needs to be downloaded and installed.
I am currently on the following:
ROM = midNIGHT 2.0
Kernel = Bubby's [ACS][KERNEL] CWM 5.0.2.3 with sd/internal storage mounted
Mods = Crawrj's AIO mod
Now, when I search for Tegrak on the market, I get the following:
Tegrak Kernel - Free
Tegrak Overclock - Free
Tegrak Overclock Ultimate - $2.34
Tegrak Kernel Donation - $3.73
Which files do I need to download and install? Is it an app? Do I need to flash anything via Odin/CWM?
The apps on the Market really don't say much as to how to properly go about installing this.
I just need to know what I need to do so I can overclock and mess around with the voltages. Thanks in advance.

To mess with the voltages you need the paid version. I have Tegrak Overclock Ultimate. you dont need to flash anything but it says it wont work with a custom kernel, only the stock kernel.

@zedomax, I installed Tegrak Overclock and after installing and giving it root privileges, I get a "Failed to run insmod!" error everytime I try to load the overclock module. I guess midNIGHT ROM is not compatible with Tegrak? I will be forced to flash a stock, rooted ROM like the one supplied by crawrj with his Stock EG30 Deodexed with Root/Busybox 1.18.4 ROM?
tegra appk actually is not working on epic 4g touch

Ok, so im using Juggernaut 4.1 Rom and wanted to know what the best settings are to use for overclocking? Im Using AnTuTu CPU Master Pro 2.3 to do it. What are the best default setting, charging, screen off settings/profiles to use? Don't want any issues and good battery life! Any suggestions would be great! Thanks a million!

There's no best setting for every phone. Not all phones are equal. So if you can overclock to 1.8 and your phone is stable, then go for it. Your best bet is to experiment and see what works for you. Just be aware the higher the overclock the worse your battery life will be.

Use an app like Faux clock or SetCPU. Honestly though, I'm using juggernaut 4.1 and I underclock it to 1.2ghz. Everything runs amazingly well still and the battery life is great.

Do a little research before flaming people. Bullet runs below 1.8ghz because that speed level is stressful for the phone and results in no added improvement.
If an experienced developer builds something you don't have a clue about, why would you want to change their settings?

This is my first rooted device and I'd like to set the CPU frequency higher. I've read that 1600 is moderately safe and 1800 is feasible. After installing setcpu I've realized that CM10's kernel does not allow overclocking. What is the best action to take? Am I out of luck if I want to stick with CM10? Or is there another kernel I can use compatible with CM10? Thanks for reading.

Hey this might be a bit late on this thread, but Siyah has just released an updated, which works with cm10 and allows for overclocking up to 1600, and undervolting to save on that ole battery... currently for the galaxy s3
Obligatory reminder:
Not all phones are the same. Some tolerate overclock/undervolt better than others. What you WANT your phone to do may not actually be what it WILL do. Start slow, only change one step at a time. I would recommend finding the perfect oc point for your phone, then slowly, slowly working the undervolt into it.
Just like the title stated, what kernel is compatible with AOKP JellyBean "Nightly" that will let me overclock my processor?
Ktoonez kernel is great. Has knots of schedulers and overclock up to 2.1ghz..my s3 has had no problem staying at those speeds for some time. Lean kernel is also good but I got random reboots with it. That one has very few schedulers and can oveclock up to 1.9 GHz. There are 2 more kernels for AOSP android. Check them out

From another poster: He references using "siyah" kernel in his S3, which appears to be an international version with the same processor as we have. He indicates the need for "stweaks". He talks about GPU "steppings" so I'm not sure if Andrielux has changed these in his kernel. I installed the app "stweaks" but it wouldn't load as it said "no kernel support".
Wow!!! What in the world. Is this for real? I wonder how stable it is. From 440 up to 800?! They are using some app called Stweaks (and the kernel of course) to do it. Love to see that on our Note 2.
And since it seems that the GPU wasn't changed much....from the Galaxy s2 series... "700 Mhz - 1100 mv" is only 75mv higher than the stock 440...and accoring to the forums stable. A 70% increase in speed and stable. This is a must have for any newer kernels.

Stweaks slow overclocking but if you OC it by 100mhz laugh amd giggles numbers. What kind of actual gpu performance are you getting. I see with.stock better real life performance.during.gaming versus his kernel. So if I were to oc just to match stock is pointless to me.
why overheat the gpu when I can get the same performance on stock kernel.
It has to be the way he has it coded. Till it matches stock and further progress dev for it ill step in. I do appreciate his work and time. But for me I need something better than stock. I got this phone for a reason haha.

What kind of performance? I beat the Nexus 4 as the highest rating 3D for a GPU in the market on Antutu. And it's noticeably different. Fun for extrme gaming I guess. But it affect the entire speed of the phone too.

Why would I need a kernel to overclock the gpu to match stock gpu clock from stock kernel to get same performance performance. Neak is on the s3 not Note 2 unless he or it in that Rom but still.

Sorry but I will not ill be sticking to stock maybe in the future. That kernel seems weird not sure which to choose. And like I said, I don't see the point of downloading a kernel know that will I will basically need to overclock the gpu just to get the same performance as I would on the stock kernel.
