Hi all, please don't flame me, it really isn't obvious...honest!
Where do I post for help with an Android App I'm developing?
The other forum I looked at was: Android Software and Hacking General. But it says: No noobs please. I'm a noob at app dev.
Many thanks.

I'm trying to get 10 posts too hehe
It's a bit of a daft rule really - just because you're new, doesn't mean you haven't something sensible to say ( and after seeing some of the dumb drivel in the Devs thread ! PLEASE !!! )
It's not daft at all. It is in place to reinforce the rule of not asking questions in the development section.
The xda guide does very clearly explain this point.
Yes, some people do get that point from day one but it is a necessary evil because the vast majority can't follow rules.

There are many tutorials within these forums that explain what I believe your are trying to do. Posting a question in this sub-forum is kind of rude. I would suggest doing lots of searching and reading. When you have a general idea of what you are doing, asking intelligent questions to a developer you like and learning from them.

Not rude just slightly inexperienced, but that's fine, at least this is relatively developement related. Alot better then some questions that get asked here.

Moved to Q&A.
Making a ROM and making an app are two totally different things. First you need to decide what you actually want to accomplish. Then read up as much as you can and ask more specific questions.

You are right about "better than some", but I have looked into developing and it is very intricate process. I would do more if I wasn't in school at night and with my very young son during the days. Just asking someone to outline the process in a forum seems crazy. How hard is it to research the subject before asking detailed questions?
Which forum can I post in with questions about issues and or questions I have developing apps? I am writing an app and want to talk about it and the thoughts I have on it? Thanks
Android development and hacking > android q&a. maybe?....

Q and A, once you reach recognised dev statues there is a forum just for them to talk about ideas etc but for now just go for the android q and a
i can not find xperia pro (mk16) forum. please help.
I have just registered because I wanted to help somebody with one question in a development forum. After registering, I realized that I'm not allowed to post in the development forums until I post 10 times in the general forum because this forum is only for expert users. I cannot catch the connection between new user and development expertise...
Well, no matter. If the help and collaboration is not wanted, I'll let the user's question unanswered.
I will just continue only reading and not participating...
Bye...

your thread title describes it well mate.. new users should help other users in XDA with 10 valuable/useful posts to get into development forum...so to help in dev section help other new users who are new not just to xda but also android..
PS: Please Do read link to New user? in my signature to know more.. and this thread is getting closed too.. as you should read first then post/ open thread..
^
Agree. there is a really good reason for the 10 post rule. i forgot.

That question should have never been in the development forum in the first place, it should have been in Q&A if available or general if not. You could also PM the user, rather than spamming maybe?

This ^^^^. The question shouldn't be asked in a development forum, that is what q&a is for... development is for development, not questions... not even a question about the rom/kernel should be in development... only development related things... as one of my fav devs say, logcat or gtfo of development forums...

Then you have failed at xda.
Questions go in the related Q&A section not in a development forum. They are only for development

@zacthespack is right - please put questions in the QA section of Ubuntu Mobile forum. Thanks. Closing thread...
