I used to have a Galaxy S3 and used the video player pop up function a few times. Everytime I used it on the S3, it did not effect the performance of the phone or UI at all. Everything was smooth as if no video was playing on screen.
On the Note 2, it seems like the whole UI seems to lag when a pop up video is enabled. Can you guys try it out and tell me if it slows down your UI also?
Hope my phone isn't defective.
Another thing I notice is when the video is playing, all the icons on the homescreen/menus ect looks more high contrast and grainy. It goes back to smooth and normal once I close the pop up video.
Edit: Just checked on my bro in law's Note 2 also, SAME EXACT THING. Anybody else here notice this issue on your note 2?
Nobody?
no, it's even faster with the popup.. joke aside no, mine is actually the same, lagfree, with or without the video

Can anyone who has played this game quickly test how long it takes to reload the level when you tap the reset button in the top right?
Cos it takes me a good 3-4 seconds before the level loads.
Initially on the iOS version that I've tried it instantly reloads the level and I just assumed it was just bad coding on the developer's behalf for android.
But I recently tried out the Meizu MX phone here in HK and I tested that phone too, and it instantly reloaded.
So basically my question is something wrong with my phone or is there some compatibility issue with ICS etc?
Also as a side note, my galaxy tab 10.1 reloads rather slow as well.
Ya its the same here. You mean when you hit refresh/redo it sits at black screen with "loading..." for 3sec or so? That's what I get. but the game is smooth and not sketchy.
Man thats a bit of a shame.
Not sure why on the Meizu MX running 2.3.5 its pretty much instant though.
Probably an ICS compatibility issue maybe?

I'd assume so.
Hello! I am having a really annoying problem with youtube (the website m.youtube.com not the app) on my Nexus 7 2013. Basically, the problem is that it takes FOREVER to load a video. Now, I may not have the fastest internet connection in the world (far from it actually), but I can easily load a 720p video on my laptop in 5 - 7 seconds. Now on my nexus 7, the EXACT same video at 720p takes 23 - 24 seconds to load! I could turn off hd and cut about half off of that time, but then it looks like a mosaic of pixels -_- I really don't get this, as mobile youtube was always way faster than on the desktop for me. However, ever since they updated the UI (to look more like the desktop) it is so slow. I love youtube and watch it every day, so this is a big problem for me. If someone could help me, I would be really grateful! Thanks!

Same, happens on my Nexus 7 but not on my Note 3 even though they run on the same WiFi network.
I am not sure what is causing this
I'm lucky if I can watch a video that doesn't 1: stutter or buffer 2: lockup part way through the video and 3: lockup my N7.
Sometimes clearing the cache in the app helps but most of the time it doesn't.

I know right? Don't even get me started on trying to rewind or fast forward...it sometimes crashes my tablet so bad I have to hard reset. I wonder if it has something to do with flash? On my old kindle fire with a custom ROM and flash I have no problems. N7 doesn't have flash. Wonder if there is a relationship.
Just use the Viral app instead if YouTube! It loads real 720p faster than the sub par HD option in the original app. It also has allot of other improvements like background playback and popup play.
It never crashes for me, but buffers a lot. None of the other devices (Asus tablet, laptop, mobile) have this problem.
Is anyone haveing the problem where you open the camera app and it lags big time? It lags in both camera and video. Then when i do take a video it's choppy and bad quality. Also, if you hit the video button is it stopped to start recording right away or should it flip over to video like other Samsung devices do? Mine starts recording right away.

I only notice the lag on the phone, but also sometime in Chrome when I'm on this site. Is your lag bad enough where you can't even take a good video?
yes, it lags to the point that I think my phone locks-up.
I read somewhere where someone said that if you disable your SD card, the issue goes away. Try it, unmount your SD card.

I don't know it just started working again. But if it happens again I'll try to unmount the SD card. Do you know how to get to the video settings? Does the video automatically record in 4K? That will take up a lot of space.
yes, i think by default it is at 4k video. 16 megs when you click on setting while under camera.

Yes, I've noticed that as well on mine. To a point, where the phone almost stop responding when camera is on. I don't think it's hardware related at all, I could be wrong, I'm thinking more like a bug in the software. One easy way to get out the lag for me is to press the power button to turn of screen then turn back on, while on lock screen, swipe up the camera widget. That got rid of the overall lag and lockup for me. I know it will come back soon or later, just don't know what trigger it.
Do you guys get lag from the front camera? When you move, it's not in perfect sync. It also seems to give you a Jay Leno chin.
Hey all,
I have had the Galaxy S20 Ultra for a few months now, and it's buggy as hell. Chrome frequently doesn't work, and will often have to be force stopped. I'm using SwiftKey as my default keyboard, and often times when I'm working on typing something out, the predictive text ribbon will stay shaking. When i have a video from YouTube or Twitch playing in the popoit player, it will glitch or straight up stop playing when i try go back into the app. Now I'm noticing that videos i play on YouTube are randomly freezing. What is going on with my phone?

Which variant, SD or exynos?
snapdragon
I've had Galaxy S devices for years. The only qualms were screenburn on the S7 and S8 but going forward since the S9 that's been resolved. The S20 seems to have more issues besides heat and battery issues with Exynos variants. The camera problems are known as well but I can't recall previous Galaxy's with so many software conflicts. Not sure if it's certain updates or UI's but Sammy needs to get it's act together, especially at today's pricing, it's inexcusable! FYI - S20 sales are way down compared to S9's and S10's. Covid-19 has a role in the declining numbers but reading the comments here you see a good number of users are looking for better options beyond Galaxy devices.
If i didn't still owe $1200 on it, i would totally trade it in for a Note 20
Here's another example. That's supposed to be a YouTube video in the bottom right corner. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ab9bsntvkx8tn3h/Screenshot_20200919-081354_One UI Home.jpg?dl=0
And here's a link to a video of it happening. I've noticed that i have to restart the phone to get it back to normal after this https://www.dropbox.com/s/njvi3wlgcm2g952/Screen_Recording_20200919-083357_YouTube.mp4?dl=0

As a test to make sure it's not the apps at fault, switch from the ones causing problems temporarily to alternative.
Chrome → Samsung Internet
YouTube → YouTube Vanced
SwiftKey → GBoard
If it still does it with those, factory reset but do not restore any backups, start fresh and test it like that, if it still does it then I'd see about getting it replaced, make sure your screen is clean and if you are using a 3rd party screen protector take it off as that could be causing phantom screen touches
Have had my S20U Exy for a few weeks now and besides the over processed IQ from camera I've had no issues with Chrome or anything else, phone has been rock solid, no glitches or hands at all, around 8 hrs SoT and 2 to 3 days between charges.
Here's another example of what happens. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pa1gu54bfshd6dr/Screen_Recording_20200925-193024_Messages.mp4?dl=0
With my S20, I sometimes - not always - have a weird judder in the video when filming. It looks like the focus is constantly re-adjusting. Then the video "bounces" very strangely. Here is an example of what this looks like:
The cell phone is very still. check out the iron bar in the background, yet you can see how the monitor frame "bounces". As I said, it's not always like this, I haven't found any pattern as to when this occurs and when it doesn't.
Anyone know what this could be or have the same issue?
Cheers,
Silva
