You could if there were versions available for your device/CID, but there aren't any yet. Also, what you state is impossible "not installed good". It's installed or not (there's nothing in between).
Hboot 1.31 isn't the final product yet and that's the risk of installing it, at the moment in India the latest OTA is rolling out with hboot 1.36, but it's only for the CID of India. You have to wait until an OTA for your CID is released.

Just use a JB Sense ROM, and GPS will probably work for you.

ARHD 15 is a full JB ROM, what is your problem with it?
CM (and other non Sense ROMs) is likely to have no GPS with your hboot.

You can try renovate. It has a nice bluish theme.

U should install MIUI X , works quite nice ... and has gps and bt pairing
sorry you cant downgrade without an S OFF
but u can flash a boot.img which works for 1.31 search the rom page

Hey!
Since You Dont Like Sense, After Installing The ARHD 15.0 U could Flash ROM CLEANER
All the Links are mentioned in that page
And Also You could Replace the Sense Launcher with Any Launcher Of Your Choice.
You Dont Need to Go Through All of The HBOOT And Complicated Stuff
And Regarding MIUI Yes Its a Very Good ROM I used it before

Yeah but it freezes all the time, reboots, camera don't work and still slow. Don't get me wrong it CAN be used (and I was using it for ages)... but the cons outweigh the pros as of yet and I rather use a GB ROM, a lot faster and a lot more stable. I mean kudos to the devs they're doing a great job, but it's still early days IMO

If you are using anything but stock hboot you may have issues as Lenny does modify the rom to primarily suit stock hboot. It will work on other hboots but some apks are missing.
Look at alpharev website and flash back to stock hboot. Do a full wipe and then reflash the rom. From their you should find miui-au pretty stable

I had a problem once changing hboot. I read a few times on different forums that one should always use the "downgrade" hboot prior to changing hboot. Since then i did so, and did not have any problem anymore.

i have recently update hboot to 1.28 for JB ROM of-course , my question is ; can i safely install CyanogenMod10 in my one x ???
up
You can try but apparently you need a special kernel made by mdeejay located somewhere here in the forums......
worse thing that could happen is a bootloop if you try anyway, your phone not going to turn into a brick
It is also no GPS with mdeejay's boot.img.
One other question. When JB is released from HTC, will it be possible to upgrade to any roms without messing with upgrading the hboot? Or the other way aroud, will it be possible to run other roms like cm10 with the upgradet hboot?
Dunno the other questions, but JB will be out this month
so how do i downgrade my hboot 1.28 to one that should work with cm10 jb ?

Hi guys, im new here and i did a misstake of upgrading me hboot to 1.31 from 1.12.0000
Is there a possible way to restore my hboot to 1.12 again ? as far i understod that i cant install other custom roms like before with this hboot ?
I wanted to install Android revolution HD 13 for jellybean for better performance.
please, is there any ways i can flash back to 1.12.000 hboot with S-on ? or have a bricked my device?
I really need an explanation, I appreciate all the help I can get!

You can't downgrade your hboot. You should still be able to flash other ROMs, but you might have to repack the kernel with a specific ramdisk if you want to use an AOSP-based ROM (cm10/aokp/etc).
Upgraded hboot 1.31 from 1.12
So did you or did you not successfuly flashed and booted into Android Revolution HD 13?

Definition of 'bricked'.
Dead.
Deceased.
Kaput.
Defunct.
No longer endowed with life.
Restricted to the capabilities of a poorly designed paper weight.
Passed on.
No longer of this world.
Bitten the dust.
Departed.
Beyond all hope.
Croaked it.
Lol, a dead parrot springs to mind.

There'll generally be something in the thread for the ROM you want, e.g. the first post in the ICJ thread includes a link to a different boot.img to be used on newer hboot versions; install the ROM as normal and flash this instead of the boot.img included in the ROM. However GPS won't work, and possibly wifi might also have problems. Nothing that can be done about that until HTC release the new kernel source, so if you depend on either of them you're best off sticking to Sense ROMs (but feel free to try it anyway).

You did that the minute you unlocked it; even if you relock it the bootloader will show "relocked" so it will always show that the phone has previously been unlocked. Hboot version doesn't come into it.

Sorry for the OT, I m just helping to keep this great site tidy
You can't downgrade your hboot on a S-ON device, this because a version check prevent that.
But, you can install a (cm10/aokp/etc) ROM
You need to repack the kernel with the kernel posted by mdeejay
Online repack: http://nibble.cc/repack/
Kernel from mdeejay: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32486421#post32486421
Unfortunately GPS id not working when you do this.
So you have to wait until developers create a kernel fully compatible with hboot 1.31.
Or you remain with 4+ sense roms.
Lattest JB Sense release is pretty,I mean ROCK stable, and in software number it say's "release keys",so I asume that official update and kernel sources are not far away..

Hey Guys,
tl;dr: is there a list that tells you what rom works with what cid/baseband? and what is the latest ARHD version that works for HTC One X HTC One X CID VODAP001 / Baseband 1.28.161.9 Vodafone UK edition
Full story:
I just lost all my data trying to install ARHD 13 without properly reading the guidelines. lol :*(
My HTC One X is CID VODAP001 / Baseband 1.28.161.9 and obviously not compatible with all the jelly bean roms.
Then i tried installing the ARHD 9.7.2. rom and that didn't work either. I got it installed but when i tried booting it for the first time it would crash and just reboot and to the same all over again.
So now i am back on the old RUU vodafone official release which is full of bloatware and just drains the battery so much faster.
I am wondering how would i know which ARHD is suitable for my device? Or is it all trial and error? And is there a repository for the older versions of ARHD. Same question for CyanogenMod?
Thanks for your help!

You're right, 972 is an ICS ROM.
I'm personally not using ARHD, so I wouldn't know which one to recommend, honestly. Try reading Mike's thread, and I bet you'll find the answers.
I could also recommend you the ICS ROM that I am using. Or eve better, try few ROMs for a few charge cycles to kill time until JB is released.

i am totally willing to do that! and yes would be very interested in the rom your using... i just want none of the sense bloatware and speed and battery improvements.
i did just now try
numero1 rom
renovate ics version 5.8
they didn't work either for their newest iteration based on ICS... i just think its so odd that none of the ICS work for me...
i am going to try this one now: viperX v2.7.1 (Sense 4.1)
i did sift through quite a bit of mikes thread but to be honest i had a hard time knowing what is relevant for me and what issn't. i understood i should've gone for the ICS build but once that failed i don't even know where to begin searching for the problem..
yeah viper 2.6 or 2.0 didn't work either... they boot then they crash... not much options it seems for this device....
Sounds like you're not wiping the cache and dalvik cache. ARHD 9.7.2 should work, you can use the superwipe.
Hi ben thanks for your reply. I ran the wipe script provided on the arhd thread i run it everytime i install.
But its good that you let me kmow that arhd 972 should work then i can look for solutions.
Any more ideas?

I'm with Vodafone and have a VODA CID but am running ARHD 9.7.2. You only need to check your cid number for Jelly Bean roms
When you installed 9.7.2 did you flash the boot.img for the 9.7.x rom? Not flashing the boot.img will cause the boot loop error you got
Also did you do a superwipe? You need to do this if coming from another rom including stock rioms.
When changing roms you will loose all your data on the phone memory so do a backup. The data on your virtual sd card (photos etc) should still be intact.

Hi there!
yes i got it running. My god its such a difference!!! i had arhd v6 running for a long time then i had the very first RUU running for a few days... now i REALLY appreciate the speed and efficiency of that rom. I have the suite tools on there as well. Love it!
I love maximzing battery run time... I have juice defender with rather extreme settings.. but if you got any other pointers on how to make it last long time always appreciated! did you try other roms as well?
I was also wondering about the rom cleaner. I still have a lot of apps on there that i don't use like teeter, htc notes, htc locations stuff like that... can i remove that with rom cleaner? or is it good enough to user titanium backup to freeze them?
thanks for your reply!

I have the same device cid as you and I'm running trips cm10 jellybean and in my opinion much better than any sense ROM. I have also been on lords aopk ROM which I'd also recommend. I have never gone back to sense, just my opinion

As far as I know, the ability to flash JB roms or not.
Experts will probably know more about the differences.

...JB ROMs with Sense.
There are differences, but we won't really know what they are until the newer kernel source is released. I assume some stuff has been added.

ask HTC... however it is a good thing!
I can only tell you one thing, if you can flash 1.33 you wont regret it. If not, then dont flash anything between 1.12 and 1.33. (mainly 1.23 1.28 1.29 1.31, they are FULL of hardware-related bugs)
i have arhd 13.0 and want update to arhd 15.0.
i have hboot 1.28. i must update hboot?

Well does it says so in the rom thread or not ? Common guys ....really ???
And why are you posting it in more than one Q&A thread. You could ask this in the thread as it concerns flashing the rom.

I think you'll need to flash the latest firmware, but remember once you've done it, you can't downgrade back to 1.28

I'm sorry my friend, but I do not have more than 10 posts so I could not..I have not found it can be left 1.28 or to be updated
If you have hboot 1.23 or 1.28 or 1.29 then I greatly recommend upgrading to any possible hboot version, those are (almost) all test versions and very buggy. So upgrading will only mean you will have less bugs.(hboot 1.31 is latest for WWE CIDs and hboot 1.33(official) is latest for CID__621)
However if you are still on hboot 1.12 or any ICS hboot i would recommend waiting for official ota.
Check my thread to know which Hboot versions are affected by the hardware bugs.
Hboot don't let the user to Install an older version of ROM and nothing else!
I read in the first post.....
Needed
A proper JB hboot
You are on JB yes ? Then it should work.

What exactly do you mean. You can still install an older ICS rom onto a newer hboot.
So basically there is no serious problem if I upgrade from 1.12 to 1.31 AND does it affect on OTA .:

It does affect the ota(to receive it, you will have to install your stock rom as a custom rom, there are guides)
Noticable problems might occur if your device is built on 3rd of April or later (S/N HT243 or larger)
Depending on how serious is serious; You will still be able to use the phone, but might not have good wifi or working Autobrightness(light sensor) or screen-off-in-calls(proximity sensor).
I have hboot 1.31 and I have the sensors problems and can do nothing until hboot 1.33 is released or S-OFF(currently impossible)

I KNEW the WiFi issue wasn't just my imagination! I didn't know it was caused by the hboot, but now I do! All we noobs can do now is to wait for S-OFF or an official OTA, whatever comes first...
