That doesn't do anything but turns on the mobile data. I usually turn it off when wifi is available. When I use notification bar to turn it off I still get the alert.
I think the phone automatically disconnects from mobile data, as soon as you're connecting to a Wi-Fi.
Or did I miss something?

It does, but I like to turn off the mobile data radio to conserve the power.

I used to remember how to do it on my nexus, but I forgot what it was. I'm pretty sure it was just a number or something.
Edit: just realized I posted in the wrong forum, sorry bout that.

I noticed this too and was wondering why. It seems to me that as long as you are actively using data BEFORE you place or answer a phone call, the data connection stays active. If you use the phone before trying to use data (i.e. browsing the web), then the data connection goes away during a phone call.

In the screenshot it seems like you don't have a data connection. I think you need a 3G or 4G data connection to download mms files.
nah it used to send MMS over wifi calling. (the blue icon). It still wouldn't download when the picture

Check your user agent in the messaging app. This happened to me too until i set it to custom & put android-mms/2.0.

Turn off your wifi and try again.
MMS does not use wifi, it uses your cell data.
If your using the juggernaut 4.0 i had the same issue. You must turn off wifi even tho you can do it on the stock rom for some reason you cant on his.

Because neither of them operate over a data connection?

Point. I'd forgotten that. I had just assumed that a lack of data also meant a lack of being able to use your connection for making/receiving SMS and calls. Or that they'd be extremely spotty.
Ok guys, but how can Market be working if mobile data connection doesn't ?
so ugly!
its just a simple copy of a dead WebOS (facepalm).
Its should the opposite way - Android OS have to be ported on to GONK devices not the way like this
Where can I download it?

What rom are you on? I remember this problem with the early ics leaks but I thought it was fixed.

Go to call settings, then where it says alert on calls (i know its weird) make sure the box is checked. no more annoying sounds.

The icon on mine used to be white when either I didn't have enough storage (And got the notification) or background data wasn't enabled. Also it occasionally happens. When it's white you also don't receive push notifications.
I think white means it is connected to the server but there is currently no bandwidth activity, meaning no uploads and downloads running at the moment. On the other hand, blue means either an upload or a download is running.
Thnx all. I managed to fix it. I reflashed and upgraded to 3.0 and works like a charm.
