No audio when headphones plugged in, on 4.2 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I need help. I have no audio when my headphones are plugged in. But it does work only for phone calls audio, which I find really strange. When I play music from the Google music app, or Pandora, or a podcast it's simply won't play via any headphone. I need a fix to this?
I have stock 4.2 android. The problem started after I updated.

Samsung AUX/Headphones sound problem! HELP

I don't know if everyone have the same problem but everytime i use a wired headset or AUX cable the sound of the music seperate.
when the headset is inserted in the headphone jack:
everytime i listen to a music, youtube or any video with beats, i hear only the music but filter the voice somehow.
is there anything in the settings that can be adjusted or something?
Well some more things are needed, are you on stock, a custom rom, etc...?
I have read of at least one phone having a bad jack. Could be the case. Most sprint tech stores can repai that in store.

currently i am running jellybomb rom but i had the same happen with stock
If you have DSP or other music manager even in your music player or equalizer check for headset then see if any setting is check like vocal or voice which separates music and vocals, hope this helps.

[Q] Google Voice play via speaker

My wife's phone is using AOKP rom and we setup Google Voice. For some reason the playback will not play via the speaker. Music and phone calls will play via speaker just fine. Anyone else have this issue?
Try toggling the volume up or down while sound should be playing. I remember this being a fix for alarms, Google Now, and possibly Voice as well.

Music randomly playing out through speakers

Okay, so today I was listening to music, on my totally stock GS III. Suddenly the music switches through to the speaker, instead of going to my headphones. The first time this happen, it was when a song ended and a new song came on Google Music. The second time was when my friend texted me. My phone was on vibrate only. Obviously, this can be quite embarrassing especially when you are in a quiet zone. I checked to make sure the notification bar still had the headphone logo. I'm using regular no mic headphones. This happened earlier, is there anyway I can still logcat? Like doesn't it save all that until reboot? I don't even remember if I rebooted yet...probably..
Anyways, yeah, I tried searching, but I came up with threads on bluetooth and speakers just not working or crackling. So I think I might be the only one..?
Thanks for the help.
Only thing I can think of is maybe your headphone port is losing connectivity with your 3.5mm jack and it thinks no headphones are present?

1. background advertisements. Use adaware
2. poor installation/settings check google music and the app settings. worst comes to worst go to manage apps clear data, uninstall and re-install in market
It happened to me once or twice with google music player. Actually, since JB, google music is full of bug on my side, it randomly hangs on song switching, this bug, low volume bug until I pause and press play. Tried clearing cache/data, uninstalling couple of times, and no go.
I've given up on it and am now using rocket player with cloud music importer. I was never streaming anyway but I liked the google music interface... oh well
I'm on a stock based jellybean ROM rooted

Yes but the usual behavior is that when headphones are pulled out, it pauses the music.

I'm not sure what the advertisements have to do with the audio problem, but I do use ad blocker. I have tried flashing back to stick through kies and odin.

I think I might actually flash back to ics. I don't want to give up on google music streaming.

So I read around, looks like a couple of Jelly bean users are experiencing this, particularly with google music. This is of course stock Jelly bean for the s3
Its a ghost, bro

I have the same issue but I use rocket music player. But the worst issue I have is when I'm listening to music and someone calls me, after the call it puts full speaker volume out my headphones and blows my ears out. I would definitely be interested in a solution otherwise I will be going back to ICS myself; especially since I can't run Adobe Flash on web pages anymore.

I'll add to this I've had the same issues with my rooted stock JB from my google play player so I just switched players to power amp full version player and I could not be any happier!
Has happened to me twice in class. Was listening to a song in google music, song ended and the next one came on, except this time coming out of the speaker. Very embarrassing!

Recently read in a different forum that changing LPAplayer from true to false I think in the build.prop is a solution.... Can't remember where I read it, couldn't find it in history, probably was on my other machine...
Been looking into this more. Seems like more people are having this problem. Some suggest downgrading google music, some say the 11/12 update is bad, some say LPAplayer or something needs to be disabled, using default samsung player, which reminds me today I installed Pandora which happened to do the same thing so it must be touchwiz and it only happens on JB. Not trying to change my phone to CM10, thats a no for me. Has anyone found a real solution?

[QUESTION] Google Play Music switches audio from headphones to speaker when unlocked

While playing music on my un-rooted Sprint Samsung Galaxy SIII, every time I unlock my phone the music switches from the headphones I have plugged in to the phone's speaker. When I un-plug and re-plug he headphones or pause and play the music, it switches back into the headphones. This issue is very debilitating as I am often listening to music in quiet places and it's embarrassing when my music starts blaring. Thanks for your help.

I have the opposite problem. When I listen to music on my headphones the music switches to the speakers when the phone locks. I guess you never figured this out. I know my problem is due to the lockscreen app "Widget Locker". When I deactivate it the problem goes away. Guess I'll head over to the widget locker thread and poke around. I'm on an S3 as well.
Edit:
I found a cool workaround by using the Tasker app. I made a profile which disables Widget Locker when i plug my headphones in and enables it when i unplug them. Seems to work pretty flawlessly.
Do you have gapless playback??

[Q] Bluetooth assistance.

Im growing quite tired of Android and Bluetooth. I have tried many a rom. Many a combination of apps trying effectively stream bluetooth audio to my car stereo. Thru trial and error I have figured SOME things out. If I am streaming the music on some roms it works just fine. IE the music is coming off the internet and streaming. If I am playing music stored on my phone it wont play at all over bluetooth. On some roms I can stream from Google Play Music. On others I cant, I can only stream from Spotify. On some roms I can get music playing, however its slowed down, sounds like how music used to sound when I was a kid listening to a cassette on a walkman which had batteries that were dying.
Does anyone have any suggestion of rom that bluetooth works flawlessly??? I am growing tired of this. I just want to jam out in my vehicle, and this is the only hurdle from me being 100% happy with Android. I hope this is in the right forum. If not I apologize.
It's a bug in Android 4.1 that Google has fixed and will roll out in 4.2 to my understanding.

I'm using the devils reject v3 and have no problems streaming to my jvc deck. Used rhapsody, spotify and Google play.
