I can't get part1 of the attached boot animation file to start (or loop). Testing in Boot Animation Factory seems to work but uploading to the phone doesn't reflect.

I'm sorry... but I cannot help you with this. But I noticed your signature... Did you actually steal your Desire HD??? or was it stolen from you
HINT: I once relocated my lost phone with AVG. Now I use Cerberus, which has some enhanced functionality, like taking pictures when wrong unlock-code/pattern is entered etc.

..if you have a non-Rooted phone then it is a no as far as I can remember.
..if you want to get rid of those carrier logo, startup and shutdown screen.. then upgrade your firmware.
.. i have the original I9000 and updated the firmware to JG1 a few weeks back to remove the singtel carrier logo.. now, I can enjoy the full Galaxy S logo animation during startup and shutdown.
i would be interested into changing the galaxy S boot animation with a custom boot like the android robot pissing on the apple logo

Using the samsung ROMs the only replacement you can get for boot animations are boot animations from other samsung androids that use the same *.QMG files to store the animation. These are QMAGE files, its a compressed file with all the image frames stored inside it.
We have to wait for a hacked kernel so we can use bootanimation.zip files like every other android phone.
I too would like to my boot animation. But for now all i can change is the shutdown
What the heck... a year thread rescue.
Escrito desde mi Galaxy S
Just root your phone and follow the steps below
1. get your desired bootanimation (i cant point you to specific threads but here's my favorite )
2.once you get your desired bootanimation, place it on the root of your sdcard, (internal sd card not external)
its actually easy to replace your bootanimation once you learn how to install adb tool (i had this even before i owned an android phone coz its part of the android sdk)
3. all you have to do is type adb shell in command line
and these commands:
su
busybox mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/stl9 /system
busybox cp mnt/sdcard/bootanimation.zip system/media/
reboot
you're phone should reboot and you can see the changes immediately
So I've been making attempts at replacing my shutdown animation (on Evil's Sense G2-Z ROM), but have been having troubles.
I've created a shutdown animation at the same resolution as the original, and put that into a downanimation.zip with folder "android" and desc.txt, which sets the parameters for the shutdown animation (the downanimation.zip goes into /system/customize/resource). The desc.txt is the exact same as that in the original downanimation.zip. As far as I can tell, the only differences between my downanimation.zip and the original is file size (their images are very plain, whereas mine are a bit more detailed) and the timestamp.
Now here's where it gets really quite weird. If I edit one image and replace it from the original shutdown animation, it stops working. Which made me think that there's something messed up with how I'm zipping my files. BUT if I change the name of my downanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip (in the same folder as downanimation.zip), and reboot my phone, my shutdown animation works just fine as the startup animation.
So. Anyone have any ideas how to change the shutdown animation, or on what I'm doing wrong?
What are you using to zip the files?

Yemuzip on OS X.
have you found a solution yet?
ive done the same thing, encountered a weird problem tho.
it only accepts a zip which is set to store not compressed for boot but shutdown none works.. i wonder if it is the file size that is the issue or something else.
if i changed the shutdown/downanimation i cannot boot into bootloader "pwr+vol down" on desire HD. have to boot to clockwork and adb shell rm /system/customize/resources/shutdown.zip/downanimation.zip and then it can boot into bootloader again but shutdown/restart screen would be blank.. weird.

Yes all guides I've seen say that the bootanimation.zip on the Desire HD (/data/local/) needs to be zipped without compression (using "store" method of compression). I would assume it's safe to do the same thing for the shutdown animation. Thanks for the folder where the shutdown animations are stored on the Desire HD. I was having a little trouble finding it as it's different from other android phones. Just a spelling error though, it's /system/customize/resource/ not "resources"
SOLVED here. Tq.

you can make it yourself with ROM toolbox.
in the boot animation section, there is an option for gif to boot. so you can save those gif and convert it to boot animation
TMK, the link is already ready to be a boot animation. It just needs to be renamed bootanimation.zip and pushed to system/media
As for the "proper" screen size for the N7 ... IDK, that'd be my only question
**edit: it is already named properly, so just push it to system/media ... and reboot, viola.

:fingers-crossed: Please add (for noobs like me) boot sound will work if renamed to bootaudio.mp3
anyways I figured it out and thanks a lot coz i was unable to workout that fps part and my phone booted up before completing the animation.
Thanks a lot again(already hitted thanks ). :fingers-crossed:
I had some good ideas of creating boot animations and so I looked up how to create one which led me to this guide. Before creating of my own, I had installed Android Wear boot animation from Boot animations app (Playstore) and I wanted to add some more frames after the boot-up completes. I copied and extracted it, added few frames to it, zipped it and replaced the one I had in system/media. The animation did not work. I had the warning sign till my phone booted. Help.

looks like you made 2 mistakes, 1st it's bootanimation, not bootlogo, those 2 are different. 2nd, the tutorial you use is for older version of Android. Started from lollipop, the loop parts was changed.
Regarding my G781B, in lieu of no custom rom's at present I am trying to fix a few of the foibles I have with the phone.
I have tried researching this for the full-fat S20 but over writing the same files (bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsungloop.gmg) in /system/media makes no difference, I am still see the 'Three' (carrier) boot and shutdown animations.
Is it possible to hide/remove the yellow triangle warning about the boot-loader being unlocked? if so how? is this just an image file I can overwrite?
And lastly is it possible to remove/hide the pre-boot warning about the boot-loader being unlocked.
I had already posted this over on the S20FE section (and requested it removed) as we dont have much foot-fall over there, so I figured I would post it here instead.
I'm in the same boat as you. Rooted phone but no roms to flash. I eventually did figure out the bootanimation though. I have a Note 10 but I assume it's the same for the S20.
The boot animation is in one file, the shutdown and the PowerOn.ogg is in the usual spots.
Boot Animation: /product/omc/ "Choose your Carrier"/res/media
Shutdown Animation: /system/media
Boot Animation Sound (PowerOn.ogg): /system/media/audio/UI
As for the pre-boot warnings, I have no idea

I have a product folder by no OMC folder, what are the files names of the boot/shutdown image files on your device..?
They are named "bootsamsung.qmg" and "bootsamsungloop.qmg". The shutdown is named "shutdown.qmg"
The omc folder on my Note 10 has all the carriers in individual folders

Yeah that what I am thinking, I will again replace those 3 files and see if the 'Three' logo gets replaced.
