Hi,
First off, I would like to apologize if this is asked before.
I was a HTC Sensation XE user and have been using Titanium Backup Pro for quite some time now.
I would like to explain and ask,
I have my memory card from HTC Sensation XE and I used it for my Samsung Galaxy Note 2, I had an idea to download my TB from my Note 2 and use the backup from my TB HTC Sensation XE. After opening TB in my Note 2 hoping to see the back-ups from my HTC Sensation XE TB.. there was none.
So.. is there a possible solution to transfer my TB back-up (HTC Sensation XE) and TB restore it to my Galaxy Note 2?
(I tried the update.zip and successfully restored everything but everything force closes. I tried wiping dalvik cache/cache, fixing permissions and still FC still happens.)
Any suggestions?
Bump'd for help, please.
Restore only apps without data.
That's actually my problem.
TB does not detect my TB backup on SD card.
TB stores to /storage/extSdCard/TitaniumBackup on the phone. You can copy all the backups from the SD card over to the phone and then TB should recognize. Use ES file explorer or something similar
In titanium backup press menu > preferences > backup location > change it to where the backup is stored.

I came from a smaller device (HTC Sensation XE) will the DPi of the backup adjust to the Note 2 or will some of the apps will look it was stretched to fit the screen?
Did you try to locate manually Titanium Backup folder on your SD card (Preferences - Backup folder location - press Back button - navigate to the folder).
edit: Sorry for double post. Did not see MohJee`s post.

I did a full wipe and flash for installing a new leedroid, doing a titanium backup as usual.
But after installing 1 app from it (es file explorer) I can no longer access the other backups.
On the sd card titaniumbackup folder is 137mb.
When it refreshes it says "287 loaded" etc but batch actions show 1 item available which is ES explorer. When I select this I can restore data for it from my backup.
Can't use the rest though.
Ideas?

I've the same problem ...
Ah. I wonder if its leedroid. What rom are you using?

Check to see if a filter has been set in Titanium, causing the other backups to be excluded.
Regards,
Dave
Uninstalled titanium, reinstalled from the market, now it says it cant get root. Superuser doesnt show it in the logs.
Have the exact same problem on my friends Desire HD...
Got temproot on a non-perm rootable stock rom and then downgraded and got s-off and now TB cant find more than 4 backups when there are 339 in the backup folder :O using latest TB "/

I ran a backup verifcation on my g2 and it reports no errors.....
Help requested.... Thanks
Go into titanium backup>press menu>preferences >backup folder location>detect>whole device. That should help. If not then good luck.
There is enough hate in the world. Why can't we all get along here ...?

Your s2 is looking in the new titanium folder that the app created when you installed it. on the s2 it was created on the phones internal sd and not the actual external sd that you have your titanium folder on. Just delete the new titanium folder and move the old one from your actual sd card over to the phones sd card. (if that makes sense)
Hi all,
I'm thinking about the change the ROM. What is the best way to keep all my apps and files? Can I just backup with Titanium Backup and restore it? I'm not sure if the SD card will be restored too through a factory reset.
I use MyBackup Pro - Paid app but does all the work for you in theory. Backs up everything. Quite cheap for a backup app.
And what's with the SD card? If I'm not completely wrong, I think the SD card is going to be deleted...

Not unless you want it all to be deleted. When I flash a new ROM and wipe data, it doesn't delete the files on it, all my wallpapers are still in there and APK's I want to install.
I use titanium backup, a complete backup tool for root users which works really well
I use titanium, it works great even the free one

Titanium Backup all the way mate.
There is a special partition layout that prevents the SD card (/dev/media) from being wiped. The only exception is if you flash a stock Google ROM - that will wipe the SD card.

my backup root is the way to go saves all apks and data as well as photos, txts, call log, and most settings only have to redo a couple things whenever i flash
also think about using a custom launcher to preserve your homescreen setups, most people are loving NOVA launcher available here in the forums and it allows you to backup all your home screens so that after you push your new rom you wont have to re-set up your shortcuts.
I use both Clockwork and TiBu. I have never flashed a ROM that alsoformats my card, but I suppose its possible.
However, I have not always had good luck with TiBu restoring all icons and widgets. Apps and data always come across fine, except in cases of dramatically different ROM versions, like jumping from Gingerbread to ICS where data like contacts can fail to transfer. No big deal because I just re-sync with Outlook.

For those using MyBackupPro, anyone have issues when backing up just data?
When I select data and use the default directory, /mnt/sdcard, I get "Error during backup:unable to open database file." Using version 3.0.6. I usually just tell it to backup SMS,MMS,Call Log.

Hello. I am loving bigxie's 4.2 rom (here) but I can't seem to get titanium backup to work. It says I have nothing to restore when I have about 60 things to restore. Please help me.
Thanks
Apparently 4.2 changes directories on your sdcard to sdcard0.
May try titanium settings and have it rescan. Not on 4.2 yet so can't test for you, but seems I had this solution work with a similar issue on another device.
Edit: titanium/preferences/backup location.

Thanks for the help, but it didn't work. I tried changing the "backup location" to:
mnt/sdcard/TitaniumBackup
sdcard/TitaniumBackup
storage/0/emulated/TitaniumBackup
storage/sdcard0/TitaniumBackup
and other things
I will be assuming that you've used auto detect. Have you tried to move your Titanium Backup folder to /sdcard/0?

do you backup to the cloud? you can import backups from within preferences...otherwise, if you have access to those backups (in a Dropbox folder or something)
connect your phone to your computer...create a new directory "titanium"
copy all backups to this directory
unplug phone from PC
in titanium, select >preferences >backup location
press the back button to navigate to the newly created "titanium" folder, and select it as your new location
it's got something to do with 4.2...i couldn't access my TitaniumBackup folder on pc and did the above to fix it
if you don't have a cloud backup, restore your 4.1.2, copy the TitaniumBackup folder to your PC, then restore your 4.2 and do the above
(there may be an easier way but it's past midnight and that's all i can come up with)
try resetting your filters...i had uninstalled apps filtered out.
Try this
I am not sure if it works for free version, but this is what I did. Titanium Backup Pro -> Preferences -> Backup folder location -> Scan, it will find and give you the multiple directories it has... luckily you will find the one you have your data with... Old post I know, but someone might find it useful when they run into this.
I don't know if this is the right place, but I don't want to start a new topic.
So, this is what I have: a Galaxy Nexus GSM running CM 10.1 (on the nightlies branch). I had to do a data wipe this morning because of a boot loop, but I did a NAND backup from TWRP (checking /data and /system) before that. The problem is that Titanium Backup does not see what's inside that NAND backup - it sees the folder, but when I choose it, it begins scanning ('Analysing TWRP backup'), then comes with a screen like this: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-...1zy6U/s823/Screenshot_2013-02-13-16-31-16.png. Does this have anything to do with the Android ID (I restored it to an older one, it should match the one it was when I did the NAND)? I installed TB 6.0 at first, but it's the same with 6.0.2.1. I have a PRO key.

It is my understanding that twrp recovery backup files cannot be read by the other tb.

As far as I know, Titanium Backup doesnt restore from a nand. It makes its own backup folder with all the backups it creates on your SD Card. You have to use Titanium Backup to make the backups. If it does restore from a nand, then I dont know about that option and have never used it.

I beg to differ, please see this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup
It clearly says 'restore from CWM/TWRP backup', it's in the menu.
I have a 'native' TB backup, but it's from a little earlier.
Use a root file explorer or adb to move/copy your titanium backups from where they are currently to where titanium wants them to be
e.g. from /sdcard/TitaniumBackup to /sdcard/0/TitaniumBackup for example, I can't exactly remember how it goes for 4.2 (I just came off a 4.2 rom back to 4.1 stock toro).

The native backup restored just fine. If it didn't, I could change the backup location in the settings.
The point is that the NAND backup from TWRP is newer, but appears empty in TB.
Hello, I just bought a Galaxy Note 2 and I decide to move all the downloaded apps + apps data from my old Motorola Atrix to my new phone. I set the backup folder into my external SD card with all the apps data. I then plug the SD card into my new phone, open Titanium Backup, go to Restore all apps with apps data. It them prompts out a Restoring dialog box with progress bar but it is always 0%. How come? Thanks.

I tried it but it took me a huge amount of time and it seems not work since it is just a small app.
