I've recently deleted the stock browser from my rooted SGA and want it back
Has anyone got the .apk for this..I will also need the rw settings to re-install
Baseband ver: S5830XWKP8
Gingerbread ver: 2.3.3

Hi, Thanks for the reply.
Have done all of that but, it still does not show after reboot.
Your link is for v2.3.4 browser..(which I did see before posting)
I need v2.3.3 there must be an incompatibility between versions.

Cant send uone now but
type "about:useragent" in adressbar and you can change it temporarely.

i tried nearly everything and it isnt working too,
maybe i will flash my phone with the newest update and do a hardreset, the problem should be done after that ;-)

PS: Does someone know when there will be the first Custom Roms for this Phone because than it would be worth it to wait?
I'm having the same problem as well; accidentally deleted--frankly I don't recall doing it--my stock browser, which is my preferred browser.
Can anyone point me to where I can download it from? Or upload the .apk here? I downloaded the improved deodexed browser from another thread but am not able to install it despite changing the permissions and using root explorer. If I save the browser from Galaxy S, will it be the same?

I've tried to place these two API I'm the system/app folder (and renaming the old one) but the browser can't be opened after reboot. Any suggestions what to do?

Set permission to rwxr-xr-x, if it doesn't work, use rw-r--r-- instead, and set ownership to 0 - root for both Owner and Group

You can try this if you want.
I attached the version that comes with Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and the one from Jelly Bean 4.1.2 :victory:
For install:
1° Download .zip file
2° Extract .apk file
3° Put it onto your mobile device
4° Using Root Explorer (or any other app of your preference like it) move it to system/app
5° Change permissions to "rw - r - - r - -" (Clic here for see an image)
6° Reboot

The one from JB 4.1.2 is the one coming from Note 2, just make sure that after paste it on system/app you change the permissions! then reboot.

Still in DN3 3.2?
Try to extract SecBrowser.apk from /system/app of the Rom zip, and push to /system/app via root explorer. Do give a rw-r--r-- permission.

Strange..I didn't find SeCBroswer.apk but it was called SBrowser.apk and another file called SBrowserTry.apk, so I renamed my SecBroswer.apk to SBrowser.apk replaced it in /system/app gave it rw-r-r permissions, and I got a msg "Internet has stopped responding" hmmmm.

I think SBrowser.apk is how it i s called in KitKat, haven't tried any KK Rom. xD
Try to push both without renaming anything.
Hello all. I recently used the modded settings apk made by Balliboxer for our Grand Duos. Later, when I tried to replace it with a stock settings.apk, the settings app dissapeared from my phone and even when I click the settings icon in the notification bar it doesn't open.
Now, I used root explorer and moved to system/app and found SecSettings.apk there. But when I changed permissions to rw-r--r-- and clicked install after mounting R/W, it says "APP NOT INSTALLED". Pls help.

You don't install system apps. You move to system, change permissions and reboot.
