Whatsapp update failure

If you managed to update successfully, please can you explain how you did it? I get a fail message, something about a conflict. Thanks!

Well, what I do is I download the latest apk from the Whatsapp site, and I uninstall the old apk and install the new one using the Appguard method. So basically nothing very difficult, but not as convenient as a simple update.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
How do you download the apk? It directs me to the market and I can't download as my device is incompatible. Thanks for any info.

Make sure boot loader is locked
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
In short. You have to make sure you have the stock system on your phone. Including radios and recovery. Both radios should be FH05. If not it will keep failing.

Where do I get the zips to flash?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
Boot loader does not need to be locked. It does not interfere with ota updates. However make sure you have the correct system.

I got the factory image 4.1.1 off the Google development site and ran wugfresh's program.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
Like I said you might need to manually flash the FH05 radios. Make sure that under settings/about phone the base bands both have FH05 on them

Here is the flashable for the FH05 radios. If you need the .img files only Im pretty sure you can just pull them out and push them.
I get the radios back to FH05 and now I can't find the update through my phone! I try searching for an update and nothing happens. Guess I have to wait for it to come back to me again.
Thank you everyone I'm glad people on here help each other out I fixed it

[Q] REQ:Solution to flashing custom ROM

I'm using ROM Manager to try to flash a custom rom. My galaxy sII reboots into the android system recovery screen, but when the process tries to start, I get the following and the process aborts.
--Installing package...
--Finding update package...
--opening update package...
verifying update package...
E:failed to seek in /cache/update.zip(invalid argument)
E:signature verification failed
installation aborted
Is there something I've forgotten to do or have overlooked?

AOSP browser without root (yes you read that right) 4.3

I have a method to install the aosp browser without any root privileges at all and no modifications of the system partition. Just involves installing 2 or 3 apks (depending if you want bookmark syncing). This should work on any of the other nexus devices that came without stock browser. This is also an improvement over the root method as it does not break OTA updates even on rooted devices.
Please don't repost this yet. I want to add in the other languages to browser.apk for the "find on page" button in the menu. I fixed English. The stock nexus roms don't have the string in framework-res for this one button.
Download zip (this is not a cwm package/just extract it or open the files from inside)
http://www.mediafire.com/download/sp3778itcps5iq1/aospbrowser-noroot-blackhand1001.zip
Steps:
1. Use es file manager to browse to system/app and install browserproviderproxy (it will say app not installed, don't worry it worked)
2. Reboot (it will not work without rebooting first)
3. Install signedBrowser_blackhand1001.apk
4. Install ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter_blackhand1001.apk (this will give you bookmark syncing)

I can't confirm that the actual browser.apk file will work on 4.2 but the browserproviderproxy and the chromebookmarksync should work.

Got it. Parsing error
Ok. The zip got screwed up. I will fix that too. It got messed up during zipping. Google drive did the zipping and only zipped the one thing properly. Just did it with 7-zip and reuploaded. I messed up the zip file. I got the same error. It finally should be uploaded correctly.
