I installed cm10 did not like it so i restored to my stock rom which i had a back up of in CWM. Stock samsung restored fine but i try to go into CWM and it is not there anymore and goes into stock recovery mod. Did CWM get deleted and do I have to reinstall CWM ?
Thanks !
Stock ROM = stock recovery...wonder if u lost ROOT as well?
if so Root and re-install CWM or TWRP.
I have my stock ROM backed up also, been thinking of going back to ICS for a bit and trying to find a rooted,de-bloated stock Rogers ROM in flashable ZIP format so I dont have to do the whole process again lol....no luck yet

Hey guys I have a stock rooted GS3 with CWM recovery.
Is there a way that I can backup the ROM or make a ROM.zip file to flash if I want to change ROMs around and then go back to stock rooted instead. I don't care for user data etc...Just want a zip thats like flashing a rom. For example I can use this zip with any other GS3 to put it on Stock Rooted with CWM.
Thanks
Use the backup option in CWM to make a nandroid backup of your current setup.
I am currently using cm10 with hellboy kernel and have a cvm backup of stock rom. I was wondering if *touchwood* something were to happen to the custom rom will a simple recovery be enough to get back to sense? or is there some kernel which will have to be flashed first? or is ruu the only way of going back to sense?
if u have a nandroid backup of stock ROM u can restore it and flash the boot.img found inside that particular backup.if u do not have a stock backup u will have to apply ruu or u can even restore nandroid backups of stock ROM found on XDA.

So I made a back up of my rom, and then flashed cyanogen mod 10.2 stable. It didn't boot up so I tried to restore the backup I made of my stock rom, and now I can't find it.
Depends what ROM you had and what you have done in between flash, like wipe, format and stuff.

Almost same problem here
I used CWM touch to make a backup of my stock rom.. I copied it to my pc and after i installed CM 10.2 last nightly.. After i wanted to go back to stock and i copied backup to phone.. but i could not install it.
You must use the same CWM to restore. TWRP and CWM/PHILZ don't get along very well. If you made a backup with CWM, you must restore it from CWM.
I made that big mistake to force a great upgrade on a friends phone and as always: problems occured and he's not happy, so my last resort is to restore the backup.
The base firmware was a Gingerbread-Stock. I rooted and created a backup with CWM. After that I had to install JB Stock to be able to install CM11 and now I have to go back to that backup.
Is it possible to just restore the backup? Or if I have to repartition/reformat the filesystem, is there a recovery that has that feature?
Thanks.
i think u have to flash Stock GB with ODIN, root it, install CWM and restore ur Backup.

Hello!
I need to return using a stock rom (at the moment i'm using aicp). I have a nandroid backup of the stock rom just after unlocking the bootloader, but since then i changed kernel (from stock to xmister) and the recovery (from clockwork to twrp). Do i have to change recovery and kernel before restoring the nandroid backup? or can i leave everything as it is and flash without problem?
Thank you!
Flash the stock boot image from the nandroid zip and also a jellybean cwm recovery as the kitkat recovery will not let you restore jb nandroid.
