s2u2 settings.exe
Feedback->
Vibration LED - 1,
Haptic Feedback - on
Vibrate when connection is established
Start->Settings->Phone->Advanced
Vibrate device when connection is established - on
I flashed the rom successfully and so far it runs smoothly.
Just one problem, my phone won't vibrate!!
Settings / Sound / Vibrate / is already set to "ALWAYS".
Even the games suppose to vibrate now became nothing...
Exactly like the vibrator is gone...
Any clue?

Settings - Sound - Vibrate (When calls & notification ) - Disable that and it should be fine. Or doesn't that help ?
I have already done the settings in sound, still it does not help.

Tried putting it on "No-Sound" mode ? (Add Sound Widget, there are 3 modes : Sound, Vibrate, No Sound)
That last one should disable everything if I'm correct ?
Uncheck pocket mode
Settings > sound> pocket mode (Uncheck it)

I have the same problem here. I don't think turning the pocket mode off is the right fix. It vibrates even I leave it on the table.
Yeah same for me the damn vibration woke me up as its really loud. I have pocket mode enabled though, isnt it only supposed to put the volume up? Besides my phone was laying on a table with the sensor unblocked

same problem .. i have turned off all vibrating option and still it vibrate when message and call comes
Vibrate Issues - Could be a Common Problem with Android
I think this is a common problem with Android phones as this happens not only on my EVO 3D but also on a brand new Sony Xperia P. Even restarting the phone after changing/toggling between vibrate on and off between restarts does not help. Despite checking all settings and turning off, when any notification or an incoming call or anything happens, the phone vibrates!
I have checked all applications' settings too because some settings are there for vibrate for notifications. IMO chat app, etc and even in messaging I have vibrate turned off under settings for notifications and STILL the phone vibrates! This IS an ISSUE and I don't see why Android developers:highfive: or even Mobile Company QA personnel:cyclops: have not bothered to check this BASIC issue and Resolve it over so long! Could be the cause of why Android Battery life sucks so much or an inherited bug! Tried this even on a HTC Explorer.
From what I've read around there is NO way to disable all vibrations in non-rooted android phones! Kinda stupid if you ask me. For a rooted phone you have to download an app like either Spare Parts and disable vibration via that. Why they don't have the option to globally disable all vibration as default settings on Android beats me?! You can turn off vibration under settings for notifications and anything but you WILL still get vibrate despite turning all vibrate settings OFF! They HAVE to rectify this nonsense! Basic functionality and they can't even get that right!
When i get an incoming call, the screen stays black and i cant do anything with the touchsreen. The physical buttons still work, but also the power button doesnt help. somtimes the touchscreen even doesnt worke anymore and i have to hard reset the phone.
Custom ROMs i have tried:
lineage15.1
lineage16.0
aicp14.0
with the stock ROM from this thread d5503-14-6-1-236 the phone works just fine.
an other problem related to calls i allready sorted out, where the proximity sensor had not worked, because the glas from aliexpress was not transluctaned enough at this area.
Any ideas what i can do? maybe try different modems, but i dont know how to do this. or is there any settings related to this?
as recovery i am running TWRP-3.2.3-anami on the recovery partition.
update 2019-04-20:
* when the display is turned on, i can recive incoming calls without a problem.
* on lineage 15.1 i also have troubles with outgoing calls. the sreen goes blank and the call can only be terminated by the other person
update 2019-05-04:
* with a new display the phone is now working fine. maybe this is related to some emc issue of the other display.
hey gang,
I just got a Pixel 2XL and for Gmail and WhatsApp even though I've got vibration off in the system settings as well as in the app, the damn thing still vibrates when a notification comes in.
This happens on both mine and my brothers 2XL, are we missing a trick?
I've tried to reset app settings but issue persists.
2XL
android 10 - build QQ1A.191205.008 - fresh install
Thanks!
Also happening here... I have spent many hours but haven't found a solution
So the way I found around this is to turn off vibration under Accessibility > Vibration and haptic strength.
Not ideal but it works and the phone will still vibrate if a call comes in.

Did you try switching off the vibration from WhatsApp settings -> Notifications -> Vibrate?
Oops, I see that you have already tried that. Never mind!

Hey guys, finally I've come to a solution after hours of searching and experimenting.
For your information I'm using a Pixel 2 XL running stock Android 10 December build (latest).
I narrowed down the problem by making notification tests with apps other than WhatsApp, like Telegram and Messages (from Google).
The problem:
When setting WhatsApp's notification preference to "Silent" (in Android's App info) - having WhatsApp own settings to no vibration neither sound - the very next message received will turn "Silent" option back to "Alerting". This will make phone vibrate (if phone on vibration mode), regardless of your preference of no vibration.
Note that this problem occurs only when phone is on vibration mode.
It happens with WhatsApp and Telegram but doesn't with Messages, making it clear that it's a bug of the app and not of Android itself.
The solution:
1) Adjust WhatsApp's own settings as your wish (if your reading this probably you don't want group message vibration neither sound).
2) Open Android's App Info and tap Notifications
3) Select group or message notifications
4) KEEP IT ALERTING
5) Choose Advanced
6) Tap Sound, then My Sounds
7) Choose None
8) Save
That's it.
It seems to me that faulty apps like WhatsApp and Telegram are currently not able to set None value to the notification sound. And, since Android turns sound to vibration when on vibrate mode, those apps will vibrate regardless of user setting.
The procedure described above will ultimately set None sound directly to Android system, shortcutting the apps poor programming.
Thanks for reading this and please give feedback whether it helped you.
