Hi, i have a htc one x with cyanogenmod 10 and i wanted to put the new jelly bean camera working. I have tried a lot of apk and flashable zips but they didn't work well. The one I have installed right now is working, but it is allways crashing and have lots of errors including the photosphere... is there any stable version?
CM10 is not based on 4.2, it's not surprising that installing a system app designed for a different version of android is causing problems.

4.2 camera is available out there but I don't recommend using it as its not stable at all , it keeps FC and the gallery that comes with camera isnt stable also , the only stable feature available from 4.2 is the keyboard , so I highly recommend having fun with 4.1.2 and wait for a developer to release stable 4.2 version for our lovely HOX

If you will use the camera and video record stuff then don't even think about ICS roms for now. I think GB are doing just fine until a proper ICS rom is released with everything functioning. My personal suggestion would be to use virtuous affinity GB rom here and download from the bottom of the page.
Please search before opening a new thread. Then you will know why this is now closed
Sorry if is a stupid question, but it´s posible to take CM10 base and add all sense 4 stuff to make a Jellybeam Rom with HTC Sense 4?
It´s this so complicated, and we need to wait until HTC release some leak ROM with JB and Sense 4.0 or 4.1 to one of his mid-range terminal with non HD screen?.
Currently using Nik Project X v4.1 that works pretty well, but want to have JB without loosing Sense.
Thanks for all.
I think it's not possibly for this monent, because HTC Sense 4 applications (Camera.apk, and others) are compiled using ICS frameworks.
For example, when I try to install Camera.apk from 4.0.4 ICS to 4.0.3 (via adb install), it gives an error, that shows difference in FW version.
This belongs in Q & A, not development bubba
Hello, I am searching for a ROM 2.3 DHD without sense, I found cyanogen but the videocamera in 720p is broken, there is any ROM 2.3 without sense that works all functions? or there are any posibility of replace the cam of 2.3 cyanogen for sense cam? is there apk or something like that? (I'm noob, ok)
Thanks.
Look for a MIUI GB ROM. I'm not sure about the camera resolution but it's fine working. Try on miui.us or take a in the rom list thread,
The video camera on CM 7.2 works perfectly in 720p. How are you saying its broken?

MIUI roms are great!
I've used 2 roms from different devs and both of them are fully functional.
1) MrGarak rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970196
2) a user rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196670
The last one is a little newer but both of them are great.
You could also flash miui.us or miuiandroid roms as they are great as well.

I know you said 2.3 but the ICS and Jellybean (and even jb 4.2 only missing bluetooth) roms are very stable, i did think at first that gingerbread was what HTC gave us, so I should use that, but the ICS roms are rock solid, most with NO ISSUES!!
I would at least get ICS. Jelly bean also smoothens the whole android experience, although Jelly bean battery life seems not as good as ICS or GB.
If you are sure about Gingerbread, Leedroid and cyanogenmod are both excellent roms with no issues (to my knowledge).
Hello, at start sorry for my poor english, its not my native language.
I have a HTC Desire (bravo) and i have a problem - in any ICS or JB camera is not working (on strock rom it was working perfect) i am using now cm10.1 VJ.
On ANY cm10 or cm9 Rom my camera is not working... even on MILDWILD CM7.2 it was very buggy
Stock hboot, s-offed, CWM recovery.
I appreciate any help, Greetings!

Your camera cable could be on the point of disconnection. You'll have to open the back of the phone and check that. Search the forum. I'm sure someone else had the same problem.
I'm using Marius ICS ROM camera and video work

except in the ics/jb qiss roms in which camera/camcorder works perfect. try marius.a rom
I use VJ ROM v5.3 JB 4.2.2. The only issue with the camera is that the "live preview" is distorted, but taking photos is actually working.
If you want a smooth camera, I would also recommend to use "Camera ICS by Moblynx".
The problem with those ROM's is the kernel. Their all using evervolv's kernel , and in that kernel video is really buggy.
It is written that in latest JB (4.2.2) roms camera should work...
See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850436
But for some reason the same author's MIUI ROM is on 4.1.2 and camer does not work there.

You may notice the topic name, it is not about MIUI, it is author's project on JB (CM10.1)... As soon as MIUI is built on top of Android, camera should work in regular further builds from vijendrahs. Actually they already made working 3rd party apps on current JB ROM... While previous builds failed to record video with even 3rd party apps:

MW-JG works like a charm!
Just fresh installed this rom - [ROM][PRE-ALPHA] Jelly Bean 4.2.2 - Pre-alpha 1 [14.02.13] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766550 to test "Videocam illusion" workaround from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766550 and it is not working. I hardly get 6 to 10 fps in video recording.
yup this fix does not work... or the result just looks reasonable for the poster ... some people don't care/distinguish lags ... VJ's fix is for htc hd2 I think as in his last reply in one of his threads he said video recording is slow and he has not released it yet.... guess he was not able to port his modifications on the hd2 to the htc desire properly

is this ICS?? -.-
Hi.
My LT26 is actually on rom stock .211 (tried .96, better battery but trouble with camefa focus).
Was is a good rom for JB 4.2.2 (and what kernel with it) ?
It seems that 4.3 roms are still in testing sequence ?
Thks.
in my opinion the 4.3 rom is more stable than the 4.2.2's I've been using it daily since it's release and never any issues

4.2 rom
I think... PAC rom might be want you are looking for, but I'm not sure... :-?
Different flavours...
Hello,
during the last few months, I tried several roms. If you rely on HDMI and want to have the best from your camera (but not the newest features), you should stick with modifications of the Xperia rom.
Most of the time I had SlimBean on my Xperia S, but they have for now finished the development, stopped with a (in my opinion very good) 4.2.2 stable version. For me it worked perfectly on a everyday basis, stable, fast, and with a very nice all-black interface (as most roms offer now). You can download it on their website. And here is the link to the according xda-thread. But many links on that forum thread are now dead, as the downloads have been moved to the "Old Releases" section on the website. If you want to use another kernel with it, I chose the OpenSEMC beta2 kernel, but I did not find any differences in comparison to the stock SlimBean kernel. Don't use 3.4 kernels with the 4.2.2 SlimBean Roms! SlimBean relies on 3.0 kernels, here is a discussion about this topic.
But now I wanted to have some android 4.3 running, and so far I see only two options for that:
The PAC beta1 which I have currently installed (still some issues there, but is OK for daily use and FAST), and the AOSP alpha1 which I have not tested so far.
I hope this helped you a little bit! If so -> thanks-button is waiting
RC2 kernel should be the same as slim bean hence not noticing any difference.
I'm still on aosp 4.3 and it's still consistently smooth and fast

OpenSEMC beta2 with SlimBean, NOT the RC2
Hello,
as corrected by now, I made a mistake in my post above, it is the OpenSEMC beta2 kernel you need for the use with SlimBean, NOT the RC2.
In this post is an according link (second one).
Any forecast about a stock JB 4.3 launch for XS? When?
