Hmm how long has it been since setting it all up. It might just be all of the google stuff syncing... I had the same thing happen to me! Leave it for 20 minutes or something and see if it works any better
same issue here.. I HATE IT
I doubt it is because of root or rom. I had this issue as wel up until yesterday. It was suddenly fixed. I think because I usually install apps using Astro (or any file explorer), because of hard resetting etc. I thought maybe if i install an app directly from the market, it would fix it. I installed 'msn talk', did a reboot and it's fast now.. I don't know if this was what made it work, but it's working great now.
edit: before that I tried to uninstall a market update and reinstall again. But it was still slow after uninstall, reinstall and cleared caches.
I am on a non rooted device btw.
I`ve rooted 4 devices today and all same to have this issue .. ?
Just out of interest were any of you also missing the "top paid" tab as well. It was missing from my market after rooting as well as the slowdown, then it just appeared about a half hour in. Also did any of you have a similarly slow market when you first got the device. I am on T-mobile and for the first couple of days it was lagging in much the same way as it is now. Maybe it is to do with something new devices do, like the Google sync suggested.
I found that it is best to install all apps manually. Backup programs somehow slow everything down for me! Plus I dont know if the updates are pushed to you because the g market doesnt think you have installed them
My market is so slow but I didnt rooted my device
same issue here...

is that new issue or something to do with android market??? recent update or something? or it is just the desire? Sent from my HTC Desire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
It's the same with mine (not rooted) since about 4 days. Have to keep rebooting even to try and install/uninstall anything.

Hmm..
No problems here at all.
Fast market, top paid apps showing.
Rooted with r3 linux cd method.
did not install a2sd.
so far no hiccups at all.
I'm getting this. Rooted, Apps2SD.
Been on a few different ROM's, now back to the original rooted one.
Not all of my restored apps (using Titanium Backup) were showing when I went to Downloads. What I have just done is got Settings - Applications - Manager Apps and cleared the market cache and all the apps seems to have returned. Still very slow though... but maybe getting quicker. Is it a syncing thing?
Anyone that did have the slow down, is it getting quicker now?
I can confirm, clearing the market cache seems to fix this.

Hello,
Yes before i rooted the Market was a dogs arse, Very slow, then after a day or to, it was as fast as i would expect it to be, then i rooted my device, again it was slow for a few days, but is now back to normal.
I think it just needs time to sort its self out, like a alcholic the morning after!!.
The only thing i have used diffrently since i rooted was the cache cleaner app in the market.
I can confirm, clearing the market cache seems to fix this.

It's not instant, but I had to do it again yesterday. I cleared cache and installed about 30 apps. By that time the market was back up to speed.
what if you have no cache to clear and the problem still persists
try logging into google talk, that works for me
so i have my evo rooted with froyo 2.2 latest build .6 and there is no way i can get youtube to work. when opening up a video on you tube it says "video not available on mobile". i really havent found any thread on this and ive been searching for about 2 days now. any help will be greatly appreciated.

this.
the streaming audio fix (for pandora and whatnot) breaks youtube mobile, but the app should still work fine.
It's actually via both. I've tried restarting the phone, deleting the app and re-installing with no luck.

reinstalling from market, or TB?
Via market, not to sure what tb is.
TB = Titanium Backup; for restoring apps
Been having a similar issue. Youtube plays but sometimes stops halfway and says that it cannot be played.

Man I was trying to show off the video quality using the youtube hd functionality and it made me look bad lol. I guess ill go with the YouTube broken thing the other guy suggested.
Anyone else experiencing problems with the Market again just now?
It starts to download the file, then comes up download paused, then download unsuccessful.
I have tried Force Stopping and clearing Cache's & data etc, no joy.
Anyone else seeing the same?
Yeah I am having problems as well. Can browse to apps, but not download them.
Yeap..

Thank God - I have been going through all my settings to try and work out how I have screwed up downloading from the market!

Me too - Blade (or san fran)
Good news its working again!
I spent ages the other day trying to fix this. Thought my phone was knackered and was going to reset until I saw this. Can anyone confirm if they can download apps?
EDIT: vukis is right... it's working again! Weird!?
I'd like to say It's fixed... try downloading more than one app at once though. Doesn't work.

Just on cue, seems like its down for its Daily freak out again!
Strangely, I downloaded one new App, then and only then did it freeze up. Server overload?
Same here
Trying to update Goggle Maps and install Opera and nothing.
I've had similar problems. Noticed for me though, it's only for updating apps I've moved to SD card. Move them back to phone to update seemed to work. Move back to SD after update.

I googled this about ten minutes ago and I was reading about having to hard reset and all sorts. I came to see what was going on over here by pure chance and I saw this thread, I'm glad i'm not alone! I've cleared the cache and I could download one app, the new Dolphin browser, now I am back to 'download paused' - 'download unsuccessful'.
Unfortunately this seems to be a daily occurrence now.

Having this problem too, Google must be fudging about with it, really winding me up now, bit of a joke really.
Any official word as to why it's completely useless today?
I just bought CoPilot then it pooped up was hoping to try it for 24hours
Not working for me either.
The problem is well known and definitely server side androiddev just confirmed on Twitter that "the right people" are working on it.
Hello,
Today I've been experiencing the following error with YouTube:
I can access the application fine, browse videos, search videos, access my YouTube account and favorites, etc... everything perfectly fine.
When I tap on a video it starts to load but then it stops and displays "Unable to connect to server - Touch to retry. If I do as it says, it just keeps that cycle.
Now I can stream videos just fine and prior to today I could watch videos without issues. My app version is 2.2.16.
Things I've tried:
1. Pulled out battery for 5 min.
2. Cleared app cache and data
3. Uninstalled the app and cleared Cache / dalvik in CWM then reinstalled
No luck. I haven't had any luck of it working under 3g or 4g, still haven't tested wifi (not at home at the moment, but will edit and report back).
I'm running Stock EH06 rooted odexed.
Attached is an extract of my alogcat that will have some fishy errors regarding Youtube, any assistance is my appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

your data connection might have been too slow where u tried.
Yes, it may have been a bad data connection..ie down tower. I just tried same version on wifi and mine works. Try wifi and see how it works. If you delete the app, use root explorer and search for youtube to make sure you get all remnants of files as well then reinstall from the market.
OK so its hard to believe that the whole state of MA is full of bad 3g / 4g internet towers, again, I can access internet just fin and normal speeds. (been driving around several towns and still the same result)
I got to a wifi location and it works... I will try deleting all instances and files I find from the app, but what other suggestions you guys may have if this doesn't work?

All's I got after that Mega is to go to Youtube.com on your browser and try the same videos. If they work there then you know it is the app somehow. It updated last week so maybe uninstalling updates.

Tried it but YouTube was already located in data/app... so I did it the other way around and no dice.
I ended up reflashing the ROM and getting everything back up and running from scratch, and now everything works normally. Don't know what it was really but, must of been the amount of hacks I was performing over the weekend with it, something just didn't play nice with YouTube...
Thanks all for your time and efforts!
I know that the latest version of Youtube is screwed up for our epics, which in that case you just uninstall updates and you're good to go.

Hmmm...I am on Bonsai B14 EG22 ROM and my Youtube updated and works fine. Must be another one of those half works half don't things.
Guess so, the updated version didn't work for me on EC05 or EG22, but I'm not complaining since reversing the update remedies my issue.
actually why haven't any of you thought "HAY YOUTUBE USES FLASH OMG"
go uninstall flash and youtube then try again =)
EDIT: also the version of youtube doesn't matter because they all work for all roms

Tonight I was trying to watch some videos on YouTube. I was able to watch some videos, but others force close as soon as I click on the video. It seems to be specific channels, but I can't say for sure. I tried clearing the cache and data with no success. I backed up the app with Titanium Backup and uninstalled and tried to download from the market but it doesn't show up for the Nexus (or my Xoom running or ICS so I guess its an ICS thing).
When I tried to restore with titanium, it took forever longer than normal and didn't restore the app, it just stayed at the screen saying restoring. I ended up having to restore my nandroid from the other day.
Has anyone had similar issues in YouTube? What about with restoring apps in titanium? I also had similar behavior with titanium earlier today when I tried to integrate the Google Maps update into my system ROm. Titanium stayed in the operation screen for a long time and never seemed to finish. However, after a reboot, it was no longer listing Google maps as an app with an update that could be integrated into the ROM, leading me to believe the operation actually did finish.
Edit: it appears the same videos are crashing YouTube on my Xoom too. Still no idea why the titanium backup issues are happening though.
WAIT ITS NOT JUST ME?
Thank god. I think its a problem on Youtube's end. I can't even get my subbed videos in the Home tab.
It FC when I click on HD videos.
Same thing happening here. The app also does not recognize my subscriptions, but my favorites show up fine.

Yeah FC randomly on me too.. guess YouTube apk needs an update
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
yeh happening to me too
first my subscriptions were gone
then videos were crashing when i was searching for tennis videos (search term was 'wta') and a lot of videos were crashing from that result.
will watch this thread with interest
thanks
Am experiencing the same problem on 4 different mobile (galaxy tablets & phones) devices.
Subcriptions not showing up
Some Videos force closing etc.
All was fine yesterday.
Googled the issues and discovred that Youtube are forcing some changes.
It's happening to me also. First I thought it was a new mod I was testing out but it's also happening on my wife's stock Incredible.
I thought I'd be happier knowing it wasn't just my problem but the truth is, I'd just like to watch some videos.. lol
wow, while it's nice to know it's not my device kirking out, it would be nicer if it would just work. i don't have any solution, so just hoping youtube addresses it soon. maybe this is why youtube app isn't in the market for ics devices--it's not compatible yet. Although I am fairly certain that it was working just a few days ago.
