battery calbration app - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

does anybody know if there is a battery calibration app for non rooted stock only phone?

calibrating the battery on a modern smartphone is a myth.
Resetting the battery stats doesn't do anything - it only deletes a file that stores what application have been using the battery since it was last charged.
Draining the battery only drains the battery. There's no calibration meter or file or anything else. Neither the phone nor the battery benefit from this. In fact, draining the battery will actually shorten the lifespan of it.

Battery drain

Does anyone know what exactly what the "android system" mean in the breakdown of battery usage? Usually the majority of the battery usage falls under cell standby and as of lately the battery is draining fast! Even with the sbc kernels. Please help if you know anything about it

You should never fully discharge a Li battery; to recalibrate, wait until your phone is fully 100% (not just until the LED turns green), wipe stats and then unplug and use as normal. It will take a few days for the OS to recalibrate but after a few cycles of dropping it to around 15-20% and bringing it back up to 100%, you should see an improvement.

Exactly right. Be careful, some people will tell you to discharge until the phone powers off. But this is risky, and not necessary. Over-discharge of a Li-ion battery can result in the battery no longer taking a charge, forcing replacement of the battery or recharging using a special battery meter with a "boost" function, which most people do not have access to (often easier just to get a new battery). The batteries have a safety circuit which is designed to prevent over-discharge, but its not 100% reliable. People on here have reported dead batteries on the Vision and other phones (after letting the battery discharge until the phone powered off), probably for this reason. Plus, the battery meter on phones are really not all that accurate to begin with, so discharging fully is not going to be any more accurate than discharging to a safe 15-20%. So zero reason to discharge the battery fully.
Ok...thank both of you 4 your information

Battery draining faster after calibration

I completely drained my battery from 100% until the phone shat off and then charged it to 100% again before calibrating the battery using the "battery monitor widget" app. After that, my battery seems to be draining even quickier than before. With the screen being at the top of the battery usage graph although my usage is the same as before.
Anyone else having that issue? I am rooted and running zedomax's kernel v2

Sounds about right. Every time I've "calibrated" a battery this happens. Run it dead the first charge. Then give it a few days-to-a-week before making another judgement. So long as nothing happens to your battery stats and nothing extraordinary happens WRT charging/discharge you will then have (what I consider to be) a well calibrated battery. If you don't like the results, too bad. I consider them more accurate than the very rosy outlook you had before calibration.
Myself? I haven't been burned by the battery lying to me yet so I haven't bothered to calibrate. I only do that when I feel the meter is way off base...which is hard to tell since usage can vary so much from day to day. Only when it is glaringly obvious that something is awry do I do this...mostly 'cuz it takes so long to get things back to normal.
In summary, yeah...sounds about right. Don't panic and just use it normally if you want an accurate meter, whether you like the truth or not I think you'd prefer the truth.

Your battery behavior sounds to be normal.
You should be getting about 1% battery drain per hour when screens is off.
You should be getting about 1% per 2-3 minutes of screen on time, depending on usage.
Evo4g and Evo3d were getting about 1% per 2 minutes of usage.
This phone isn't that much different.
When it dies after calibration, you should charge it to 100% without break.
Following calibration, batteries still take a little time to settle. Give it a week or two and you'll see its true discharging rates.
Also, I've never heard of that app. Use the Battery Calibration from Ne'ma.

Battery Calibration by Ne'ma works well for me. The above posts sound right give the a few cycles to settle in.

Mugen 4500 mAh battery not showing proper stats

Dear all, somehow I am experiencing an odd behavior with the battery stats.
Once the battery stat reaches 1%, the phone still remains on for maybe another 15-20min of use until it goes off. Is there anything wrong with the battery, my settings or not proper calibration?

UPDATE:
Since my first post on 1% battery my note is still running. Playing music all time with switched off screen.....
Really strange behavior

Just a calibration issue I would think. Try resetting the battery data in recovery and also use Battery Monitor Widget to further calibrate it.

i was having similar problems with mine, i tried turning the phone off, removing the battery and then restarting the phone and charging to a full.....that somehow fixed the issue for me....and also as described above use a battery monitor widget for correct stats.
Did you discharge the battery fully first?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
not fully, about 20% charge was left in it, but i guess it doesnt matter as long as you take the battery out and then recharge it back for a good 12 hours or so- supposidly longer charge cycles = more accurate stats.

How to calibrate extended battery without rooting?

Hi
I got a 6200mah extended battery
How do I calibrate the battery without rooting? Is there an app for calibration?
Or must I root in order to get accurate percentage reading for my battery?
Thanks
You don't need to calibrate lithium ion/polymer batteries.
Just whack it in, charge it up and go about your normal day

The reading on the phone seems a bit off. It flatlines on usage for 2 hours at 3% seems phone not able to take accurate reading of battery true capacity in percentage
If the readings seem off, you can just charge to full and drain battery to about 1% then recharge. That is all calibrating really is. The concept of providing a low and high point
Those root apps that you see that "calibrate" the battery usually only wipe the phones battery stats which is placebo and has no effect on battery life. That file is essentially wiped everytime you charge to full and unplug.
Is this your first charge with it? If so just do a full charge cycle.
