Can anyone extract this for me? It only shows up in the Alarm Ringtones and it is called "RESET". I have switched between ROM's and some have it and some do not.
It would be greatly appreciated.
I have it in my ROM, under Ringtones though. Find a ROM (I'm using Evervolv a19 GingerBread) that has it, extract it (I found mine in /system/media/audio/ringtones) to your desktop, browse to the location of the sounds in the folder you just extracted, drag and drop the ones you want to your SD card, then use Astro or Root Explorer to put it into the proper directory where your other sounds are, and reboot. I just did this today with some sounds that I liked that this ROM I am using doesn't have. Worked fine.
Thanks. Found and copied it! Probably should have tried that first. Figured it was hidden in ROM somewhere.
No problem bro.

Afternoon fellas. Would anyone know how to pull a sound from an app? I want to pull a specific sound and use as my notification tone.
Thanks in advance.

If you happen to use root explorer, long press on the app in /data/app and extract. Not sure about other file explorers. This way can be done right on phone. Will work on system apps also at /system/app.
Does anyone know how to disable the sound made when making contact with a wireless charger on a rooted m919? File location, anything would be helpful. The sound wakes my wife up. Its gotta go. TiA.

From my understanding the same charging sound is used whether you're wireless charging or using a cable. I'm kind of an amateur so this may be a dumb way to do it but when I wanted to get rid of a charging sound I was able to replace the charging sound (which is in .ogg file format) with a silent one called Silent.ogg which you can download from this post. XDA doesnt allow .ogg file extension attachments so it's in a zip. Download and unzip it and rename it to Silent.ogg for convenience.
On my phone I use Root Explorer but you can use any file manager app that allows you to modify system files. The charging sound is in /system/media/audio/ui and is called Charger_Connection.ogg so in Root Explorer first navigate to wherever you downloaded Silent.ogg and copy it. Navigate to the above path and tap the "Mount R/W" button at the top. Paste the Silent.ogg file. Rename Charger_Connection.ogg to something like oldChargerConnection.ogg or whatever you'll recognize as a backup in case you ever want to restore it. Then rename Silent.ogg to Charger_Connection.ogg making sure it has the capitals and everything. Once done reboot into recovery and Fix Permissions. I usually clear cache and dalvik also. As a backup I emailed myself the Silent.ogg and ChargerConnection.ogg files in case I ever need them again.
Do not use Silent.ogg from the linked post above.
It is a looped ogg and will keep playing silently in the background preventing your headphones from working until you reset your phone. Took me a while to figure this out

I want to add the notifications from my nexus 7 to my GN2. I'm sure you guys know that there isn't an option to add notifications like you can add ringtones. I have the notifications copied to my GN2 but when I try to move them into the /system/media/audio/notifications folder it fails. (Exact path may be incorrect.)
I'm rooted on stock 4.3 with default recovery. SuperSU was unable to disable KNOX. I've been trying to copy the files using Astro file manager.
Had anyone ever been able to successfully do this?

I really like the double bloop with faint echo sound Samsung has introduced as the charging start sound. Have anyone isolated it for use as a notification for anything else?
Thanks in advance

It's called ChargingStarted.ogg and it's located in System/media/audio/ui. You can use an app like ES File Explorer to copy it to another location. If you want the sound to show in your notification sounds make a folder on the internal SD card (normally 0) called Media. Inside the media folder make two more folders called Ringtone and Notifications. Put a copy of ChargingStarted.ogg in the Notifications folder and it will show with your normal notification sounds.
Thanks!

Does this require root? I cannot locate the System folder using ES File Explorer upgraded version. Also my device is the S9 SM-G960W if that makes a difference.
Thanks!

Does not require root and you need to navigate back to the very root of the device, not /sdcard, further back than that where it shows just /
Total Commander can do it too
I don't know ES file Explorer options, but with the Asus file manager, you have to go to settings and show hidden files and folders. Then you can back up to the root folder. Then you'll find "System".
Samsung's own file manager won't do that. Google's Files app can't either.

Navigating not an issue, well versed. For some reason ES Pro will not show anything off root. Maybe a setting wrong although I went over a few times. That being said pro tip re: TC - showed everything - file copied and functional in under a minute. Thanks so much, appreciate it!

I switched from ES to TC a few weeks ago, discovered TC uses SMB2 for LAN transfers, whereas ES must use SMB1 and is pathetically slow, with TC I can transfer GB videos via WiFi to a shared folder on the PC in no time
ES can definitely show root, maybe need to enable a setting like you say, I don't have it installed atm though, iirc I used the nav bar at the top to get there, think I just pressed on the / icon, or as far back as it would show, and then the next dir would show the / to press, something like that
