root arc s 4.0.2.a.0.62

You got a unloxked bootloader
Download superuser.zip from their site. Put it in sdcard
Hotboot a kernel with CWM
find it in dev selection. Put it in fastboot folder on your pc
Fastboot code
Fastboot boot YOURKERNELNAME.IMG
Phone reboots. Press volume down on blue led.
Install zip from CWM menu

I'm the new owner of the xperia arc , i've tried to look for questions about my issue, i've bought my xperia from a stranger ,the phone box is branded with Vodafone Spain, the phone is unlocked ( the method he used i don't know) and it has android version 2.3.2, if i try to make a software update with Pc Companion it will remain unlocked or not ??? can pls somewone help me ?
million tnx !
try and connect using fastboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133650 , if you can then the bootloader is unlocked and you can't use the update service, you'll have to flash using flashtool/fastboot, they're in the same thread, but you can flash a pre-rooted img. if you can't connect to fastboot, you may have to root after every upgrade.

[Q] Should I update Arc after installing ZipIT VI

Hello!
I unlocked bootloader of my Xperia Arc and I installed ClockworkMod Recovery and ZipIT VI on it.
After this procedure I have following: Kernel version 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected]#11, Build number: FW: 4.0.A.2.368.
When connected to PC Companion, phone asks for update permission to a newer version (the previous I had before unlocking bootloader).
Should I allow this?
If yes, will I lose unlocked bootloader and ClockworkMod Recovery?
No you should not allow this if you want phone alive.

If your boot loader is unlocked you don't need X-Parts, flash a kernel with CMW, flash a ROM, done. Read the stickys.
The thing is my arc freezes when i try to get in cwm.
