Custom boot logo - Not boot animation - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
When I had my SGS2 there was a great app by Hellcat that allowed you to change the Samsung boot logo (not animation), which was really awesome.
Unfortunately Hellcats app is not compatible with the SGS3 or SGN2.
Is anyone looking to create a method for this? Or can anyone point me in the direction of where to start researching how this is done.
Thanks

[ROM] RoyalGinger 3.0 - ckisgen - 8/3/11 - 2.3.4, Netflix, gTalk Video over 3G/4G

RoyalGinger is built and compiled from CM7 source code with lots of the CM7 extras and other assorted bloatery removed + a custom kernel & numerous tweaks and optimizations added in. It's sleak, it's mean, and it's fast.

=====================
Release Name: RoyalGinger
Release Version: v3.0
Base Firmware: 2.3.4
Kernel Verison: ckisgen-AOSP-smartass v2.0.1 Kernel
=====================
I always recommend a full wipe (data and both caches) before flashing this ROM!!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED/READ ME:
1) In Spare Parts - Set Window & Transition animations to 'Fast' or 'OFF' .. this will greatly speed up switching between apps, etc.
2) TURN OFF live wallpapers if you experience any sorts of odd/unexpected behavior
3) If you are using setCPU - try uninstalling that (and rebooting) if you have out of the norm issues .. this app seems to cause some weirdness with a small fraction of users device
=====================
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS / RoyalGinger v3.0
- Download the ROM and throw it on the root (main folder) of your SD card
- Boot into recovery
- Wipe data
- Wipe cache partition
- Wipe dalvik cache (under advanced)
- Install from zip / choose zip from SD card / flash it!!
- (optionally) You can let the phone settle for 1-2 mins on initial boot up. IF you are using setCPU, I strongly recommend a fresh reboot and a 1-2 minute settle before auto detecting clock speeds. (see below for more details) I
Enjoy your wings
HAPPY FLASHING!!
((IF YOU RUN/USE setCPU : now you can open setCPU, press the menu button, select 'Device Selection', press 'Autodetect Speeds / Recommended' .. hit the OK prompts ... there's like one or two ..set your min/max clock speeds and governor and press 'set on boot' (I use the default smart ass gov, 1.1gHz max 245hz min ... this seems to be the best balance of performance and battery...AGAIN, MAKE SURE set on boot ISN'T ENABLED/CHECKED IN ROYALGINGER SETTINGS -> PERFORMANCE -> CPU SETTINGS))
=====================
This should be common knowledge by now but if you want to report an issue make sure you have a log cat also you should be running a log cat on every first boot. If you dont have ADB set up on your computer follow this very easy guide to set it up. It truly only takes a few minutes. Also, see HERE for addt'l instructions on how to get a logcat. Alternately, there is a handy app available free on the market called 'alogcat' which doesn't require ADB and does all the lifting for you

How to use cm7
After booting up the phone you will see a Android, push the android to begin and follow printed instructions
If you want to change the lockscreen you can go into settings and select CMsettings and go to lockscreen.
If you want to change your fonts, screen transitions, screen animations then go to spare parts in your app menu.
If you want theme chooser and wallpapers please download and install junkfood zip in the recovery menu
Phone will be a little slow at first boot, this is due to the phone cacheing and will happen at the beginning of any rom install
want to change cpu frequency, reboot and push the down volume button when blue light comes on. go to cpu menu and push power button to select. change and reboot
Want to go back to stock rom, go into recovery menu and restore your previous rom. Make sure you wipe data, cache, and dalvik
what do I do if I mess up the install. Follow this to SBF back to stock SBF your Bravo

thanks for developing for this phone.!
i'm so sad to see very little development support for this phone. the phone itself isn't so bad but stupid a&T #$^#$^ed it up. some settings are so obscure.. my god..
i had to go through so much pain just to enable "unknown sources".
Thanks for the work! Can't wait to try it out. I know I made a few tweeks but need to find some time to learn about development for Android. Hope we as a community can get the camera working next, and then we have a full CW7 port on our hands!
Sent from my MB520 using XDA App
No problem.. camera is a tough one.
I can port and right scripts... but a noob at codeing itself.. camera has always been my downfall.
The more help the better. I am just trying to get things in a easier format for people to do work and have easier updates development.

When you say new recovery, where can I get it? What is the way to access to it?
One more question, I heard that bravo has capped hspda, and also heard something about that CM7 enables it, what can you tell me about it?
thanks
It is already included... old recovery is green and 2.0. Next was orange and is 3.0 (installs with newest defy 2nd init). This is newest with red and is 4.0 that is pre-installed with latest cm7 build. They are all very similiar.
And I believe it does uncap data
Cheers

When I make a nandroid backup with 2nd init defy then I cant restore it.
And when I install the recovery with 2nd init defy, it wont boot anymore after flashing a rom again, well not with all roms, Im using now gingerblur, I like it the only problem is the camera!

[Flashable] international i9300 [boot animation]

This is for people who want to Custom stock feel of the international i9300 during boot.
Source http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1734434
Just boot into CWM and clear cache / Dalvik and flash in recovery.
*I am running this on my i-747 for att and have used it on stock, cm9 and cm10 couldn't get it to work on the (ktoonz train JB) rom though.
I take no responsibility for anything you do to your phone with trying to flash.
1) You need to post a source since this is in no way your work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734434
2) This is not a stock Galaxy S III I9300 boot animation. This is a custom animation that was made for the SGS2, and was ported (png size increased) for the SGS3.
**Edit**
Attached is my version of this bootanimation.zip, in which I removed the white lettering of SGS3. Also, added a 5 sec wait before animation starts, to better help with sound file matching up... don't know if this was fixed in the newer zip the OP posted.

Dear form members I have removed the numbers and make a boot animation that will look great on any Samsung Galaxy S III
This will also Remove any Provider branding Boot Animation for any custom rom.
Installation:
Just download rom toolbox light on android market place.
open the application swipe left 3 times then click on your boot Animation then go to local then chose your download zip file & install it.
Reboot.
Done!
Developer Installation: Rename the file to bootanimation.zip and place in you rom like any other custom boot animation!

If someone has the PowerOn.Ogg sound please upload it here!
Do we not already have this boot animation in the Boot Animation thread ???
