I have the T-Mobile Note II and was wondering if someone can give a suggestion as to how to disable/mute/and,or soften the startup sound? Its quite loud and annoying.

hey everyone. I like the sound of the new speaker system, nice clear stereo sound, but I could take the max volume being a lil bit louder and adjust down from there. I installed the light audio boost cab on the raphael thread, but then when I made a phone call, after being connected for 5 seconds or so, the person couldn't here me anymore. I uninstalled it and it stopped so this had 2 be the problem. I guess I'm asking if anyone else feel like it could be louder and if there is a tweak for this yet.
I have recently switched from S3 to Note 2 and I have experienced a significant change in gtalk sound. Now it's significantly darker, and my partner and I miss the slight bright noise in our audio conversations. She's had no changes on her phone and besides, before selling my S3 we had the chance to test both devices at once and clearly the sound was worse in note 2.
I had tried several things regarding microphone gain: N.E.A.K. kernel with wolfson audio control, alsa mixer, default_gain.conf tweaking, with not very noticeable changes.
I figure out the problem is not mic gain but noise cancellation. There's an option in stock phone app to switch it on or off during a call. Also some apps for sound recording have that option (Asr from play store).
Is there any way to disable noise cancellation under gtalk? Maybe in a configuration file? Does anybody know where that file is? Or maybe there's a way to disable noise cancellation globally?
Thanks for your help!
Have you tried disabling noise cancellation from your phone settings? Not sure if it will affect gtalk, but it's worth a shot.

Hi guys does anyone know what is going on here. Sometimes when I am trying to activate Skype or some sound with my Bluetooth or headset I get this pulsing noise, every 0.7 seconds or so, and it's not loud at all it's just there no matter what volume I set and only way to get rid of it I have to restart whole system. Now I am thinking about it same noise sometimes on my Galaxy S 4. Can it be because of my particular headset ? Anyone have anything on this issue ?
Hey there.
I suddenly have a weird noise after I wake up my screen. It is not the screenlock sound which you can activate in sound option menu. The sound is always when I wake up my screen, after the screenlock sound if it is enabled. The most anoying thing is, if I listen to music it switches from headphones to speakers while the "wake-up noise" is played. The noise, sounds a little bit like the windows sound when you plug out an USB device. Any idea what it might be? And how I deactivate it.
Oh I almost forgot there is no noise if I have my phone on vibration.
Greets and thanks in advance,

Ok I got rid of it by deactivating and activating the developers options.... I have no clue why, because I didn t change any option, but anyway it helped. Might be some Samsung Firmware bug.
Hello everyone. Today I revisited my galaxy s4 from my g2. I was listening to music and there was some noticeable hiss.
It was very apparent in low volumes and I was wondering if anybody else has this problem. For example, play a quiet song on the 1 notch for volume on some earbuds. Listen and tell me if you have hissing.
If you do.
I found a fix.
First. Try listening for the hiss on the 1st volume notch.
If you have it.
Go into the stock music player. Press the menu button and click settings.
in the settings menu. Click adapt sound and turn it off.
that should fix any problems.
That worked for me.
But. That was on my original s4.
I got a refurb from assurion because my original was destroyed.
Now I have a hiss no matter what. Even with adapt sound off. It was never on in the first place.
So, guys, tell me, does your s4 hiss???
