Though I do not live in an area where it is yet in use I was able to install ISIS App from Google Playstore remotely via web browser to my Galaxy S3 (couldn't find it directly from phone). Had already done Jellybean update, lost root (OTA rootkeeper didn't work for me). The attachment shows what I get when I try to open app. Does anyone know where to go from here to get around this problem? If flashing unrooted stock, would it be necessary to uninstall Superuser first, as I suspect its presence may be an issue for the app.
You need to get a new Isis compatible sim and you need to be in one of the test markets (which you are not.)

Get the new SIM card like previous post suggests. If you don't have it, you can't get it to work.

I'm not entirely sure if I have a problem or not. I'm on DoCoMo Japan network, and tried to use the FuxkDocomoV3.1 app which in its post claims it makes changes to
factory/nv_data.bin&md5 and
.nv_data.bak&md5,
data/radio/nv_data.bin&md5
files. The unlock claimed to work, but lost all 3g signal, so I re-locked using the same app, which claimed to be successful. I rebooted but still had no 3g. I restored an image of my rom and it appeared to be fixed, no harm no foul. The weird thing though is when I tried to go into a different app Galaxysim unlock, it now claims "MD5 file is unavailable/wrong or MD5 function changed."
I have backups that fuxkdocomo app made, but i'm not sure how to use them / if I even need to use them. Currently everything appears to be functioning normally besides the error message in that one app. Do you guys have any insight as to if I need to do anything involving the backup? I'm going to purchase the unlock code from my provider, and I was wondering if this would prevent me from using it at all. My IMEI number, mac address, and everything appear to be fine.
Thanks a bunch!

I don't know the answer to your question, but lost device scare is the reason I use this.
You can lock, locate or erase your device with a simple text message.
Plus anti virus, call & text blocking and creeping mode if your into that....

So when i first got my gs3 in august i was able to root with heimdall. Early January i had to have my phone replaced because the speaker was messing up.
Since ive gotten it replaced i have had the most ridiculous time trying to find a way to root it with my mac again. The old process with Heimdall does not work anymore.
And it appears that the only process to work is with Odin. The only issue is i dont have access to a Pc to run odin. Am i correct in assuming that i cannot currently root and push a new recovery with a mac?
Ive tried google, XDA, Rootzwiki, Android central and i cant seem to find much information anywhere...
If i couldnt use the search button properly feel free to flame away but i cant seem to find anyhting.

Sorry,
I swore i had it in QandA If you can imagine, last night i had around 20 tabs open trying to find the answer or trying to use old or alternative methods to get a custom recovery. I think i just clicked the wrong tab..
Thankyou though for moving it for me.
@banccalif it looks like i have no choice but to run a virtual machine of Win7 just to get this thing rooted...
i have a note 2. i rooted it using the great app called "framaroot" (found on this website).
this worked at first, but once i Supersu updated, it started reciving errors (related to unrooted phones). so i checked out supersu an it pop up: There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!
i tried reinstall it in recovery (both binary and supersu) but it always said: e:failed to verify whole-file signature.
i also tried to reset the phone, but that didn't work too.
at last i tried to update the software (over wireless), but my phone promted that it was modified.
all i want is to reroot my phone, using framaroot, without having to use odin or anything similar. (painful experince: broke s2 but refixed it partialy)
i have searched a lot,but i wasn't able to find anything related to this.

If you want to use specific method only then why you not posting your query to there, where you got that tool. you will get better support there
Btw here most of ppl using method having no issue and i never find single brick with it.
I tried turning superuser off but it didn't seem to work. i tried root keeper and that didn't work. i just want to update to the newest software update my phone keeps saying is available but when i try it, it goes into cwm and says the update is aborted. obviously because my phone is still rooted. i want the update without have to wipe date. any help? thanks. and be kinda specific, i was able to root my phone a few months ago but im not tech savvy on every little thing. thanks!
Your update is failing because you have a custom recovery not because you are rooted.
Please go to settings > about phone > baseband version and post what the last three numbers/letters are...
Depending on what version you are currently on there may be a flashable zip available for download, or it may be easier to just flash a complete ROM.
Please search, this question regarding how to take the update properly (no need to unroot) has been answered many times by both myself and others
Also, questions go in the "Q&A" forum
Yeah, all you have to do is look through either cnexus' or my own posts and you'll find the answer you're looking for. Look for threads in the q&a forum with the title similar to "OTA update?" There's at least three of them on there from the last week alone.

That won't work for what this person wants to do (run the OTA). The best way to do this is by checking out CNexus' sticky thread on what to do with an OTA. His thread is very informative and has good instructions on how to update or, at the very least, turn off the OTA notifications.
