Hey guys, can someone port AOKP messaging (Nexus' messaging) on XXXLPJ roms?
I really don't like the stock messaging..
So yeah, if someone can PLEASE HELP!

Also looking for something like this. Does anyone know how to use the stock messaging app available from here? I have a feeling that maybe some google AOSP files may be needed such as TelephonyProvider.apk and/or OneTimeInitializer.apk (from nexus rom JZO54K as thay seems to be what Samsung have based LSJ off of) as these were included by SpikeM in his PureICS AOSP package that replaced the Sammy apps with AOSP ones. Has anyone tested or tried this?

well it works fine!!! no more slow motion when scrolling sms to try to read

- dark smilys!
-pop up messaging (enable it)..if it is a little bit cuttoff..well live with it
-400+ emoji icons
-ability to choose which soft keyboard type you want -emoji , enter to send or enter a new line

Works a treat. I like the transparent background mms.apk but I cannot tell if it auto converts sms into mms after 3 messages. In the UK we get charged loads for mms messaging and I like to have the option to keep them as sms

I have heard it works fine. The paid version allows you to have a black theme, not sure that's worth the extra money myself.
i've extracted mms.apk from justun bean inverted gapps, renamed secmss.apk to secmms.apk.bak and the inverted one in secmms.apk. then reboot, it works!!

Well search or download latest cm build or any other based build....extract mm.apl from system/app ..place it in ur sd(wherever you want ..or if you want transparent go and see my poat one page back...
With root explorer go to system/app rename sec.mms.apk to sec.mms.apk.bak
Note: therevis no need to rename mms.apk that u extracted before just copy to system/app then set permision you can find it by pressng menu

Here is my attempt to make Sammy dialer look a little like AOSP gingerbread version, it's based on XWJS5/XXJVK deodexed firmware.
Changes:
05 Jun 11: Same as V2 but base on gingerbread JVK version.
19 Feb 11: V2 - Smaller dialer number, sharp and smooth.
V1 - Released, number is pixelated (removed from download).
Note on file name:
vcall-v2: with video call icon, JS5 base.
sms-v2: with SMS icon, JS5 base.

1. First thing first, backup:
adb remount
adb pull /system/app/DialerTabActivity.apk somewheresafe/DialerTabActivity.apk
adb pull /system/app/DialerTabActivity.odex somewheresafe/DialerTabActivity.odex
2. Rename the downloaded file to DialerTabActivity.apk
3. Install via adb:
adb remount
adb push DialerTabActivity.apk /system/app/DialerTabActivity.apk
adb shell chmod 644 /system/app/DialerTabActivity.apk
4. Delete the .odex file (if your version is odexed)
adb shell rm /system/app/DialerTabActivity.odex

Yes, that will work. After that you should delete the DialerTabActivity.odex since my version is deodexed, so it doesn't need this file.

I see, it is because of number images is taken from original gingerbread is stretch when using in this dialer, I'll work on this ASAP.

Amazing work mate! I have a suggestion, maybe some themed dialers based on this? E.g MattedBlues Dialer for CM7 is awesome, that would look great!
Also, is it possible to theme the part where you call someone? You know when you're in a call, i really like the CM7 layout/theme and it looks much more professional. Can't really find a screenshot but i hope you get what i mean, check out the CM7 Directory thread to see some screens Cheers!

Yes it is, by manually editing the needed files (SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk).

You can use APK Manager, Google it .
There's a tut there too.
Otherwise, you can do it by replacing the files by hand on your PC, by browsing into the APK by hand (use WinRAR or 7zip).

Ive tried it a few times today but nothing worked when i overwrite the SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk my phone doesnt boot anymore
and also the APK manager isnt working
i dont know what to do now
Hi. I just tested this mod on RC 3.1 for captivate and got to says it looks good. Sadly the phone process FCed uncontrollably and got to revert to stock. Keep the good work!

Just download the apk in to your sdcard and then with a root file explorer, copy and paste in the system/app directory
4.0.4 has been out for a few weeks, and no one updated their version to work on it, so I took 4.0.4 stock apk and made the needed changes.

just a heads up. your mms.apk seems a little light at about 400KB. MMS.apk are usually ~700KB. I did try using your mms.apk just to try, but it doesn't load, even after a reboot following replacement it in the system/app folder. you might have recompiled it incorrectly. gl.

Thanks for the info, very strange as that is the size of the MMS.apk on my phone that I am using, and it works 100%.
I am 100% stock, just rooted, not deoxed or anything......

This appears to be for odex'd (ie stock) roms. There's no classes.dex in the apk, which is probably why it's smaller than deodex'd Mms.apk's.

all .apks that have been modded and recompiled will be smaller in size. this is normal.

Download your full rom to your computer, extract mms.apk from /system/app and push it to your phone from adb. All better.
Is there any way to get the Icon to be normal size? on my stock-rooted GNex its about 25% smaller than the original apk. Is there a way I can edit that myself?
EDIT: I found an earlier dark-themed MMS apk and just ported the icons over.

EDIT: For future reference, you don't need to recompile it. just change it from a .apk to a .zip and open it like normal. then put that picture in where the xdpi icon folder is. A .apk is basically a fancy zip file.
The widget will only work with TW-UX Launcher which you will find here

Dude I know it works on TW ux but it's not working on the newer version of the launcher found in the link in my previous post. I tried installing it and it just gave me "problem loading widget" message.

try with the framework files attached (you know the instructions)
its working for me fluently on the new version of TW
im on cm10 with android 4.1.2 and the widget says Problem Loading Widget

Hello There Devs...this is some work which i discovered accidently so i thougt of sharing this mod which is of inverted apps from now on called the Dark Side of Google... these will be Google Apps Which will be Inverted into Dark Colour to bring out the dark side of Google ( Other than their own Called Holo )

Hi,
The keyboard is not working..
I've made a flashable zip myself to overite my latinIME.apk and flashed it, then I got the error of it not working,any suggestion??
I humbly ask if you could upload the libjni_latinime.so..
I think that will solve my problem.
It needs the lib file.

I use Enox revenge Rom..And the rom uses AOSP keyboard Ported towards the Rom..not the default one..

@OP: Gesture input (slide) doesn't work. The animation appears but no text is made.
Might look if blacked out apps has something similar.

Sure i'll look into it as said by Gineer there might be files missing for the keyboard.......

Naah... why did you make a flashable zip it doesnt need to be flashed or put into the system.. it's type of a basic just install thing put it into ur sdcard and install it... do remember to backup any other AOSP keyboards before doing this!

Haha it worked ,just got excited and forgot to read..I am very sorry sir..
as stated above some features doesn't work..maybe if we look more into it we'll find what's something that mskes some features not working..

New Calendar App Dark INverted with 4.1.2 compatibility as it's from 4.2.2

Hi, great mod especially for amoled screens, unfortunatelly I have problem installing it in i8190.
When I try to install it gives me this error message (calendar and music):
X Application not installed
Package with that name and different signature already installed.
I cannot uninstall the original apps since they are flashed in the rom. Any ideas?
Maybe flashable?
(benz rom by the way).

Backup or remove those apps from /system/apps
Put the new ones there instead and change permisions to rw-r-r- (644)
Reboot.
