No it isn't, the internal storage (/data) is called App storage, the "sdcard" (/mnt/sdcard) is called Phone storage and a connected USB stick (/mnt/usb) is called USB storage. Have a look at Settings --> Storage.

Ah yes sorry, you're right, I didn't notice that. So when connected via MTP the sdcard is called Internal storage and in the storage settings it's called Phone storage.. confusing

Did you search? This has been covered multiple times before. USB Mass Storage does not, nor will ever, work on the GNex.

Phone Memory

How to move almost all Android apps to SD card ?
what sd card? do you mean you want to save the apk's and store it somewhere outside of the phone? in addition, the internal storage isn't partitioned like that of older nexus models. it's either you get a 16gb or a 32gb storage less the space utilized by the os.
The Galaxy Nexus doesn't have an SDcard.

Meaning i cant transfer apps to usb, like nexus s.
It's not portioned like the older Nexus models. It's just one big internal storage

It says "Cannot copy [filename]. Its file size is larger than the device limit."
It will be really great if I can get this fixed, other wise I have to chop every large file.

do u have something like that you can use to connect to your PC? You shouldn't be having that error message, typical when you get that message, you're using the wrong file system. Are you sure that's a legit 64GB card?

I connect the phone directly to the PC with a microUSB cable. The phone says it's connected as a media device. Then I see the phone on my computer as two dicss, one of them is the SDXC card. And I try to transfer the large file and got the error.

I believe this is a known issue with the Note 2. I read about it in the forums for the international version.
For large files you can just use a sd card reader. I picked a USB 3.0 one on Amazon for $10.

What files do you have that is over 4 gigs anyways? Movies? Even then, you should convert to a more manageable size for mobile.

This, thats one of things I've always loved about the Galaxy line. Codecs out the wazoo.
OP convert to divx. I converted the dark knight rises down to 899mb from 6gb and its 720p with dolby audio.

12gb System storage

So I have the 32gb GN which of course means I really have a 28.13gb GN which apparently is actually 16.13gb because system storage is using 12gb. Is it supposed to take that much? I checked using the disc storage app. If it is this is one of those facepalm moments to Google for not adding an sd slot.

No. But it has 32 GB of internal storage so it tends to be plenty.

Yes you could. I purchased the full version for use with my s3 and s4 and it works a treat. However, is it really necessary with 32gb?
Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk 2
You probably can by rooting but seeing how I don't have the phone and was just doing some research on it and my friend is looking at getting the phone and he isn't big into the whole rooting thing but thanksfor your guys help
