this option is disabled/grey/not clickable for textmsgs, emails and missed call... it was available in 6.1! what happened? any chance to enable it again?
Another question about text messages.
On my tilt when the text message bubble came up there was a reply button also. Is there a way to get this option on the touch pro2.

Sorry to bring this up but i'm having the exact same problem. While i had this option enabled on a precedent custom rom, on the latest official WWE rom just doesn't make me enable it. Anyone got a solution for this?
Here is the answer:

Is it possible to turn off dictionary in built in standard keyboard? In my language there are some special characters which if added to sms message make it much bigger because of encoding issues. So short one sms message cqn be encoded even in three. It makes it more expensive plus if sms goes to another country is very often not readable because of some errors in proper encoding with roaming.
So simply - how to turn off dictionary?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
You can disable suggestions from the dictionary from "settings>>>language&keyboard>>touch input>>text input>> and here you should turn off the following : "prediction", "spell correction" and "word completion".
Hi, I'm having big issues sending text messages from my Arc. After using the *#*#4636#*#* code, I was also unable to change the SMSC details as kept getting an Update-Error and a Refresh-Error. I was hoping someone would able to give me some advice on how to get around this.
Thanks.

Your SIM is not Android-ready! You should contact your mobile provider and ask them for a new SIM. Should be free and instant in one of the shops you provider probably has
I would like to use this thread for similar question.
How the hell can we change SMS settings, like sms center number, validity period and so on?
Thanks.

SMS Center can be changed in *#*#4636#*#* (update = save settings, refresh = pull settings from sim)
Not sure about validity period. I think Android just keeps it on 'maximum possible'. Don't almost all phones do that nowadays?
Delivery report can be changed in the messaging options.
Hi all,
I'm brand new to the forum and signed up in the hope that one of you knowledgeable folk would be able to help me with my new Huawei watch.
I use Go SMS Pro as my text message client, and am only receiving a 'new message' notification on my watch screen. It does not vibrate to tell me I've received it (does vibrate for new GMail's) and I am also not able to read the contents of the message, it just gives me the option to open on my phone.
If anyone could point me in the right direction to fix this it would be very very much appreciated...I've spent ages googling it but to no avail.
Thanks so much in advance all!
Jamie

Ok, so I managed to fix this after a little trial and error. Thought I'd add this to my post in case it could possible help anyone.
Issue was I had message preview set to 'Private' in Go SMS settings, and also vibration set to 'off' (was using Light Flow for custom notifications)
Now I get a vibration and full notification on the watch.
Hope this helps someone!

Hi everyone, it's good to be back after a while!
Whenever I send a text message to someone, no matter who it is, I type everything correctly, like ã, é, õ, ç and all the special characters that my language has, and I also send emojis, as everyone else does.
My problem is that the receiver only receives normal letters without the special characters, a capital Ç and blank spaces instead of the emojis I've sent.
This has me believing that for some reason, my Pixel "turned on an option" that only lets me send SMS in the most basic format possible, like it used to be back in the day, before SMS evolved to supporting emojis and all that. The only way I can send "emojis" is if I type ": - )" instead of choosing an actual emoji.
I've been in touch with my carrier (Vodafone) and they said there's nothing wrong with my SIM and that the problem should be on the phone, with a reasonable doubt.
Has anyone around here experienced a similar issue? I've tried everything I can remember, including a Factory Reset but nothing did the trick.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I've had a popup message show up on Messages saying "to support a message from your carrier, the message needs to be converted" (or similar) and it makes you tap Yes or the message won't be sent.
Best Regards and sorry for the long post! :good:

Hi there , where you able to solve this?
I'm on Vodafone PT too and I'm having the same problem , the Pixel 2 only sends blank texts when I send a emoji.
The problem isn't with your P2XLs guys. Ask your recipients if THEY have the simple character set enabled in Messages. If they don't the problem is possibly font related on their end.

The problem is some incompatibility with AOSP and the way it manages the Unicode with Vodafone PT or something like that, beacuse the Emojis work with other mobile carriers and with Vodafone PT they don't.
It's really something or with Google or with Vodafone.
Vodafone more than likely. If it were Google it would be a global issue, affecting all handsets. This issue isn't affecting mine.

But do you have Vodafone PT as a carrier?
No I don't, and that's why Vodafone is the likely culprit.
