Is there anything that can be done about the volume limiting when playing music in the car. It is really irritating to have music playing and two seconds later, the volume get adjusted back by the phone. Does this while using Poweramp. Anyone else having this issue or have a fix?

That seems to have made an improvement. I'm sure it will be even better when I get the phone plugged up to the car stereo. Thank you.
Edit 1: Tried it in the car and still the volume resets. It does however, increase the volume otherwise. Just not when connected to the car via headphone out jack. Poweramp seems to be the culprit as other music apps doesn't have this issue.
Edit 2: Installed Volume+...Follow the steps to get it and Poweramp to work together...Everything is working fine now. Thanks!:good:

Hi all,
Hoping for a little bit of help here. I'm running the Google Music app on a stock Nexus Galaxy (4.0.1 yakju) and for whatever reason I can't access the bass boost or 3D effect buttons on the equalizer. They are blanked out. I can change the dB levels on the different frequencies but the two aforementioned buttons remain fixed and inaccessible.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you.

I assume you already did try restarting the device.
Any other equalizers or the like installed that could interfere with it?
Good tip. Thx.
Already restarted the phone and I don't have any other music apps or equalizers installed. So that kinda leaves me at square 1.

Weird.
Only thing I can think of right now is: go into settings > apps, find which music related apps are running and try deleting their data and cache. Or try force closing them and reboot again.
You need to have a pair of headphones plugged in to access the EQ I believe.

This is correct, you must have either the aux port plugged in or headphones.. I can't remember if it works with my Bluetooth speaker or not.. I wanna say it does but I'm not certain.

Guys, thanks for the replies.
You were right. I just plugged in a pair of headphones and the bass boost + 3D effect became responsive.
Thanks again for the help

Just purchased the 2 on release day for full price and so excited to try out Samsung. I am a heavy music listener and have to use headphones. I tried the set I purchased for my last phone HTC brand in Amazon and the stock ones that came with the phone (Samsung) and for the love of all mighty I am unable to get the darm things to skip/fast forward. The only thing it does is lower the volume or raise it. WTF that's what the volume buttons on the phone are for.
I have been all over the settings in the phone and the music players and unable to find anything that looks like it would help. This is doing it while on stock and power amp music players. Also I am running stock if that helps.
Has anyone figured it how to get that to work and if so how?
Thanks,
A desperate man who wants to skip. Lol
Lol I had the same issue downloaded an app called headset button controller it's only a trial but it's working great. There was another free app that I plan on trying out as well called JAYS headset control try out either see which one u like best. I don't think u can use the volume button to skip tracks but the third button on the controller can do it all skip/play/stop/previous just by double/triple/quadruple tapping using those apps.

Okay, so today I was listening to music, on my totally stock GS III. Suddenly the music switches through to the speaker, instead of going to my headphones. The first time this happen, it was when a song ended and a new song came on Google Music. The second time was when my friend texted me. My phone was on vibrate only. Obviously, this can be quite embarrassing especially when you are in a quiet zone. I checked to make sure the notification bar still had the headphone logo. I'm using regular no mic headphones. This happened earlier, is there anyway I can still logcat? Like doesn't it save all that until reboot? I don't even remember if I rebooted yet...probably..
Anyways, yeah, I tried searching, but I came up with threads on bluetooth and speakers just not working or crackling. So I think I might be the only one..?
Thanks for the help.
Only thing I can think of is maybe your headphone port is losing connectivity with your 3.5mm jack and it thinks no headphones are present?

1. background advertisements. Use adaware
2. poor installation/settings check google music and the app settings. worst comes to worst go to manage apps clear data, uninstall and re-install in market
It happened to me once or twice with google music player. Actually, since JB, google music is full of bug on my side, it randomly hangs on song switching, this bug, low volume bug until I pause and press play. Tried clearing cache/data, uninstalling couple of times, and no go.
I've given up on it and am now using rocket player with cloud music importer. I was never streaming anyway but I liked the google music interface... oh well
I'm on a stock based jellybean ROM rooted

Yes but the usual behavior is that when headphones are pulled out, it pauses the music.

I'm not sure what the advertisements have to do with the audio problem, but I do use ad blocker. I have tried flashing back to stick through kies and odin.

I think I might actually flash back to ics. I don't want to give up on google music streaming.

So I read around, looks like a couple of Jelly bean users are experiencing this, particularly with google music. This is of course stock Jelly bean for the s3

I have the same issue but I use rocket music player. But the worst issue I have is when I'm listening to music and someone calls me, after the call it puts full speaker volume out my headphones and blows my ears out. I would definitely be interested in a solution otherwise I will be going back to ICS myself; especially since I can't run Adobe Flash on web pages anymore.

I'll add to this I've had the same issues with my rooted stock JB from my google play player so I just switched players to power amp full version player and I could not be any happier!
Has happened to me twice in class. Was listening to a song in google music, song ended and the next one came on, except this time coming out of the speaker. Very embarrassing!

Recently read in a different forum that changing LPAplayer from true to false I think in the build.prop is a solution.... Can't remember where I read it, couldn't find it in history, probably was on my other machine...
Been looking into this more. Seems like more people are having this problem. Some suggest downgrading google music, some say the 11/12 update is bad, some say LPAplayer or something needs to be disabled, using default samsung player, which reminds me today I installed Pandora which happened to do the same thing so it must be touchwiz and it only happens on JB. Not trying to change my phone to CM10, thats a no for me. Has anyone found a real solution?

So today I at work and my boss walks over and ask me to turn down my music..... I had my headphones in and did not have it up very loud.
Several min later I get a phone call, a few min in he walks over and asked if I was on a personal call. I said no and the person continued to talk, what I didn't know was all the sound coming through the headphones was also being played on my phone speaker.
No looked it up and many people have the notifications sound problem, but couldn't find one that really had the same problem as me.
No matter what watch on YouTube or listen to in my music player the phone will play the sound on both headphones and speaker.
Any help with this problem guys?

Who's rom are you using? Also try a different pair of headphones. If the jack on your headphones is bent or not connecting correctly it will cause that to happen.
That happens when the headphone jack is not pushed all the way down!

I think you might also want to be sure the Phone is not in "Driving Mode"...
I just had the same problem. I was listening to Google music for a few hours no problem, but one track decided to play threw the speaker and not the headphones. Not sure what happened, I skipped the track and all was good again.

That has happen to me recently, it varies at one point it was when I was using YouTube but it left after I kept plugging headphone jack out and in a couple times try that.

Funny, when I play games and have music playing at the same time I have the same thing happen. Perhaps the next update in May will fix this?

Hey guys,
I use my phone all the time in the car (connected via bluetooth) for playing podcasts, mp3's, youtube videos, streaming live tv, etc. - the problem is that the Audio level going into the car stereo is quite low. I almost always have to have it at full volume on both the phone and car radio and even then may times its still too low for my liking [and no, I'm not half deaf! ].
Does anyone know how I could increase the bluetooth audio output level from the S3 by say 50%?
Thanks!

Thanks for the tip - looks like PowerAmp might do the trick.
You're welcome

Is the radio stock or aftermarket? Cause most aftermarket head units have a volume offset setting and you can raise it up a good bit
